Astrology And Fashion: Celebs And Their Style- Dustin Hoffman by Annalisa
Astrology and fashion
Leo Sun Dustin Hoffman is, at first glance of his chart, a hard-working actor. He has a host of credits in his long career on stage, in movies and on television. With his height of 5’7″, Hoffman is a great example of what hard work, technique and a Leo Sun can do for a performer. When at first Dustin had a hard time finding roles due to his height, he carried on, working hard and taking the best roles he could get and chose well in building his career.
Dustin has an Earth trine in his chart that includes Moon, Mercury and Neptune in Virgo trine rising and Jupiter in Capricorn trine Uranus in Taurus in the fourth house. With Jupiter in Capricorn in the 12th, we have a person who will work towards reaching the top of his career. When we add Taurus Uranus in the 4th and his stellium of Virgo which includes his moon in the 6th, we see a hard working artist that is about drama, given his Sun sign, but very much a practical artist with his eye on the bottom line, one who is willing to put in the work to achieve his goals. Dustin worked at many menial jobs that were “dead in” before breaking through with his first big role in “The Graduate,” and he also did commercials to make ends meet.
Often we find those actors with Cancer in their chart liking to study the “method acting” that is all about working in tight knit groups which appeals to their love of being part of a close group. Dustin did study method acting and has Venus and Pluto in Cancer. With Mars in Sagittarius, Dustin has shown an interest in playing many different sorts of characters and has avoided being typecast in any certain sort of role.
Dustin’s Midheaven is in Scorpio and indeed we have seen a sexuality from Dustin that one might not expect given his height and his choice of character roles. Dustin has an underlying sexuality that was seen early on in the movie “Kramer vs. Kramer,” for example, as well as his early work in “The Graduate.” “The Graduate” called for a sensitive treatment of the burgeoning sexuality of a young student. Dustin’s Midheaven in Scorpio was very obvious in the movie “The Graduate,” and he was nominated for an Academy Award early in his career for his work in the movie. Dustin’s Saturn is in Aries which provides for a more disciplined approach to what he does artistically and helps to aid his Leo Sun, with all its drama, to succeed in his chosen career.
As we can see from Dustin’s very practical, hard working and ambitious career, his Earth trine and its placements have played a large part in his life. Dustin wisely chose to become a character actor even though he has the stage presence to be a “leading man” and has chosen roles that require both hard work and intelligence. Dustin has been nominated for the Academy Award many times in his career and has won twice for the movies “Kramer vs. Kramer” and “Rain Man.” Dustin has shown his technique and skill in taking many different characters on in such movies as “Rain Man,” “Tootsie” “Death of a Salesman” and “Wag the Dog.” All of Dustin’s characters require him to get into the character using emotion, mind and body. Dustin shows us the very believable characters he chooses to play using his Leo sun and love of craft as well as a well functioning Earth trine and Cancer placements to put him into the emotional realm of whatever role he has taken. Other memorable characters from Dustin’s portfolio include his roles in “Midnight Cowboy,” “Little Big Man,” Lenny” and “All the President’s Men.” When one looks at the sheer volume of Dustin’s output as an actor it is obvious that he has a strong work ethic, talent and ambition to take on characters that are complex and interesting. Having the grip on emotions that Cancer in one’s chart can give you, the drama from the Leo Sun and the practical application in life of an Earth trine, Dustin seems destined for success when one looks at his chart.
As with many with a lot of Virgo in their chart as well as Cancer, Dustin values his personal life and does not bring it into play with regard to working on fame. Dustin has six children, one of whom is adopted, and two grandchildren. Dustin has been married twice and has kept his marriages out of the press as well as any personal problems he may have had during his career. The mark of a professional and not surprising when we look at his Capricorn placements, Dustin prefers to let his work speak for him and has never been a “press hound.” Dustin is an observant Jew more now than when he was young. Early in his career he was given a bit of trouble for being Jewish although his family was not overly observant at that time. Dustin has been an active member of the Democratic party and a supporter of Ralph Nader.
Dustin Hoffman has sleepy eyes that have a certain sexuality to them and a prominent nose that he uses to his advantage even in photographs to promote his career. He has dark features and is of Ukrainian and Romanian descent. Dustin has very few “beef cake” photos but has had many romantic shots of his face and his sleepy eyes over the years. His eyes are very expressive which I find when there is Scorpio in the chart and he, again, fills the screen despite his smaller height.
Dustin is of the “old school,” “movie star” style when at events and is most often in black suits with light shirt and tux when the occasion calls for one. Dustin’s press image is very professional, as is his work, and we see the Earth sign love of a “uniform” when he dresses for openings and events. Early in his career Dustin had his hair long and with some curl which was the style for those of his coloring and which was very popular with actors such as De Niro and Pacino. When he flashes a smile it is wide and open which is refreshing and a bit different from some of his era in movies. With Cancer in his chart he appears warm in some of his photos and easy to know.
There is a serious side to Dustin and his photo shoots that conveys his Earth trine, and the sexier shots are more of his Leo Sun than of any other placement. Dustin brings energy to film when he photographs that can be attributed to the fire in his chart. Due to his chart and his training in “method acting” Dustin is both the comedian and the serious actor in turns, depending on what event and what movie he is promoting. As with most actors of his coloring he is styled in dark suits and clothing most of the time to play up his dark features and especially is his eyes.

always loved him and always found him sexy! (once again, i’m drawn to someone with a chart similar to mine – the leo/virgo/cancer mix
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dustin
Hands down, “Rain Man” is my favorite. Oh, so good!!!
I read that he has Venus in Cancer and I looked up his wife. I can definitely see her as that kind of type, and there are all of these pictures of him kissing her and demonstrating affection. “The man who played Ratso Rizzo (giving the world the immortal line, “I’m walking here!”) still brings Lisa breakfast in bed every morning. So I guess the must be doing something right.”
I can’t choose, he is such a great actor.
I can’t think of a film of his I don’t love – he is definitely one of my all-time heroes, especially for that persistence of his you note in your opening paragraph.
This is such a great write-up; I had no idea he had so much earth plus a Venus Cancer in his chart. No wonder I love him so much! I have to confess – I met and did some work a couple times with his wife, of whom I was INSANELY jealous when they first got married (and I was in junior high, LOL!) and I was dying to gush to her, “OMG, I used to have such a crush on your husband!” But I didn’t; she was such a top-flight, incredibly lovely person and when I realized that she probably gets comments like that tossed her way eight days a week, I thought it best to zip my lip and did so!
ThankYou Annalisa !!!
Rainman, Krammer vs Krammer, etc.
Great Actor !!!
Blessings !!!

I love Dustin Hoffman, especially in Tootsie, and recently in Last Chance Harvey. He was so brilliant in that I think I wrote a post about it
