Astrology And Fashion: Celebs And Their Style- Robert De Niro by Annalisa
Astrology and Style
Leo Sun Robert De Niro has an astrological chart that reads very much like the actor’s actor that he is. The child of two artists, a painter and and a sculptor/painter, Robert De Niro Sr., Robert seems to be cut out to be the artist he is when studying his chart. Robert has a stellium in drama-loving Leo that includes his Sun, North Node, Jupiter and Pluto in his second house of basic needs. He has the very artistic Pisces Moon and Midheaven trine his Cancer rising helping him understand the emotions of others as well as his own while Pisces also loves to lose themselves in drama or other worlds. His Pisces Moon is in the ninth house helping him have interest in others and how they live and also causing Robert to very much relate to his Italian roots although he is Italian/Irish. Robert was eventually granted Italian citizenship in 2006.
Mercury and Venus in Robert’s chart are in Virgo giving him a great work ethic and making him a thinking actor while Saturn and Uranus in Gemini trine his Neptune in Libra also make him think through his roles. Robert was a student of method acting which requires actors to dig deeply through their emotions to find a character’s motivation which would appeal to his Pisces planets as well as his thinking Mercury. As to the hard work of Virgo Mercury and Venus and the living of his roles with Pisces Moon and Midheaven, Robert has taken great measures to understand his characters. Mars in Taurus in the 11th house, Robert is again, an “actor’s actor” and also a producer and director on his own steam. With Mercury and Venus in Virgo trine his Mars in Taurus in the 11th, Robert has made strong connections within his field of art such as director M. Scorsese while working in films such as “Raging Bull,” “Goodfellas,” and “Cape Fear.” Robert also developed a relationship with the director Frances F. Coppola who found his audition unforgettable at one time and who cast him in “The Godfather, Part II.”
Due to his stellium in Leo and his understanding of emotion and willingness to dig through his feelings, Robert would go to great lengths to understand the motivation of his characters. With practical Virgo in his chart and the reality-seeking Taurus Mars, Robert would gain 60 pounds and learn to box for “Raging Bull,” grind his teeth for “Cape Fear,” and live in Sicily for “The Godfather, Part II.” Robert learned to play the saxophone for “New York, New York” and put on weight and shaved his hairline to play Al Capone in “The Untouchables.” Robert’s strong relationship with M. Scorsese brought his strong roles for which he dug deep within himself for the character and brought them to life on film. With such a strong chart full of Leo and Pisces that would love art and drama in particular, Robert is considered one of the great actors of his generation.
Not wanting to be typecast by playing mobsters and intense characters, Robert, a true artist, tried branching out and played roles in comedies such as “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers.” Again, an actor’s actor, Robert would donate his scripts, costumes and props the the University of Texas at Austin. Such a strong actor in drama, Robert won the Academy Award early in his career for his role in “The Godfather, Part II” for which he largely spoke Italian with only a line or two of English in his whole performance. Being able to win the award for a non-English speaking role shows Robert’s great talent at acting as he was able to portray the emotions needed by using his dramatic talent and Pisces/Cancer understanding of feeling to convey the character without the use of the English language. “The Godfather II” was only the second of his strong movie features which also shows that Robert was gifted early on in his career. Robert did attend a school for performing arts and did his first stage roll as a child. Robert won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Raging Bull,” and was nominated for an award for his roles in “Taxi Driver,” “Cape Fear,” “The Deer Hunter” and “Awakenings.” Robert has also been nominated for the Golden Globe for “New York, New York,” “Midnight Run,” “Analyze This,” and “Meet the Parents.” Robert is a true actor with dramatic skill as well as comedy chops to exercise.
Robert has a history of long term relationships as he has Venus in Virgo and Mars in Taurus. He has two sons, one from each of his first two wives as well as twin sons conceived by in vitro fertilization and carried by a surrogate mother with longtime, live in love, Toukie Smith who is a former model. Robert was once held over in France for questioning regarding a prostitution ring and he is said to have said that he never paid for sex. He was seen as a “witness,” instead of charged with any crime but Robert is said to have been so sensitive and offended by the French for this that he vowed never to return to France. On the other hand, Robert embraced the people of Italy so much that he spent years working on getting Italian citizenship. With his Mars in the 11th house in Taurus, Robert must have found a home away from home when living in Italy as well as when traveling there and related to that part of his heritage in a strong way. He is also depicted as Italian in most of his film roles instead of his Irish roots.
With strong features, Leo Robert De Niro has taken many, many photographs in the old “movies star” style that show him to be a lover of drama as well as committed to the noble side of his art. He has the strong features of his Italian/Irish heritage with a bit of color to his skin and ruddy complexion. He has a strong nose which is often a feature said to create a handsome face in both men and women, and he often takes photos that set off his profile and show those features in their best light. With a nod to his dark eyes that have so much emotion in them, he looks into the camera with a serious and somewhat intense look in most of the photos taken to promote his movies. He takes the cue of the movies star style as well when appearing at events, wearing classic tux or suits in dark colors with lighter shirts to set off his skin and his dark features. Robert, like many of his contemporaries, often dresses in black or black suits with white shirts. He has had some “beef cake” shots from his earlier movies that show he was committed to his role enough to work very hard to get into shape. Robert gives only a slight smile in his photographs, showing he is more at ease in character than when hamming it up for the camera.
He is of the old school when it comes to his press and with the exception of becoming involved in Democratic politics, he keeps his press and his likeness for promoting his work and not his personal life. Being very knowledgeable about drama and how he presents as a Leo with a stellium in the sign, Robert tends to take a dramatic photo for the press and stay under the radar when it comes to anything about himself personally. However, Robert was very vocal in the last presidential election by making his Democratic party of choice known before the election and saying he would endorse a Democratic candidate for President. The words that come to mind when looking at Robert’s style are “noble,” “old school,” and “dramatic.” Robert, although seen my many as a sex symbol at times in his career, never promoted that part of himself and like his chart shows, he held himself as an artist first and foremost.

would be interesting to have his chart posted. I love De Niro’s works.
Jilly, that’s so cute! I love my cat and worry when I leave him!
Robert has a preference he has stated, for dating African American women and even went so far as to say that was all he would date! He has had only relationships with African American women like Naomi Campbell and others so it’s interesting…
Thought I’m mention that. Toukie Smith, his long time love is also African American.
Wow I had no idea — it’s always interesting to me that when I read one of your profiles of someone I like a lot, that their chart is similar to mine –
Totally figures that Cancer Rising. Pisces moon is a surprise, but interesting…
And I’m such a dork I even love him in a movie like Falling in Love with Meryl Streep. I love him in the good stuff (Godfather of course) and the lousy stuff–
moonpluto, I like him too and try to write about people who I can find a respect for in their work or in their life. I’m careful not to judge but some celebs are hard to profile because I can’t respect them enough. I’ve done profiles of people who aren’t my favorites by far because I try to cover different people’s interests but having Sag and Cap in my chart makes me want to respect them on some level, you know?
Thanks for your comments and for reading!
fantastic-thank you. i love him, his acting, plus i think he’s gorgeous.
“YOU TALKIN’ TO ME?”
also loved Deer Hunter–that film got me, big time.
Thanks for responding, Annalisa — Do you find that you are drawn to those with charts like yours?
Like I was saying above, I have seen this over and over with the people you profile – it’s uncanny. That I love them and don’t know their charts and I go “aha oh so THAT’s why!” Because I am cancer/virgo/leo combo and so are they
I have mixed feelings about Courtney Love (just to mention one person) for example but am drawn to her for some reason and then I saw her chart and it made sense…
He was physically beautiful in his youth see:Taxi Driver and Mean streets. Thanks Annalisa.I was curious since you are into fashion,do you have a favorite model or models of any era?
He’s just awesome.
hi moonpluto!
I have every sign in my chart, which includes both a grand cross and a grand trine. I find myself drawn to many, many entertainers because of that. I agree with you about Courtney and will profile very soon. She is interesting regardless of how you look at her life.
Melody,
I admire Diana Vreeland and Vogue of her era when she was the editor. She was a woman of great fashion sense, modern in thought up until her death and had a very nice sense of style. thank you for asking.
I admire others but Diana brought it and that has to be adimred since I try to bring it as much as possible to people to decide.
thanks to you both for reading!
@Annalisa.I read her autobiography “D.V.” as a teen.A very enjoyable read.I used to have framed photos of Courtney in the 90′s.If i’m only passing out compliments, she is Smart.I read an autobiography by her mother.I thought it was profound and interesting. The title escapes me.It is no longer in my possession. These days i either give books away(which i won’t do unless i have My own copy to keep safely GPS’d on my bookshelf! One last thoght.I wouldn’t be at all surprised to learn that Courtney has or does visit this site. Thanks again Annalisa.
oops thought”.Typos! Not unlike Miss love herself…
I have yet to see DeNiro in something where I disliked his work. He’s way at the top of my favorites list.
