Dixie’s Daily Tarot, November 9, 2010: Emotional Business

Astrology Meets Tarot

ace-cups-reversed-tarotI was uncharacteristically wound up—furious, disgusted and midway through a full-blown rant. This was during a particularly drama-laden period of my life; while I would have earnestly claimed it wasn’t my drama, that wasn’t entirely true. I fed it.

I got completely halted mid-rant by my husband. “YOU care more about this than anybody else. Why?”

Smack! It stung, just like a smack in the face will. But it was a smack I needed. He was right. Damn Captain Virgo with his Virgo moon, pointing out when my emotional tirade didn’t make any sense.

See, it wasn’t my life I was ranting about. It wasn’t my problem. It wasn’t my choice. It didn’t even directly impact me beyond seeing something going on I found deeply disturbing. So why didn’t I look away? While my observations were no doubt largely accurate (says Mercury-Scorpio), they were just as irrelevant. Nobody asked me.

Today’s Tarot is the inverted Ace of Cups, associated with Water. Like all Aces, this one represents the very beginning, the most basic, root expression of an element’s energy. Aces are generally powerful cards as pure representations of the suit’s energy, and cups hit us where we live—our heart. This is very Yin, receptive energy in it’s early stages. You’ll often see this card upright at the start of a new relationship or new love of any kind. Lately, I’ve been seeing it inverted when there is a total emotional disconnect. It’s like the querent feels they are pouring their heart, their emotions flowing right out into the ground.

bigmouthWhen this Ace appears, there is an emotional investment taking shape. Appearing inverted, it’s a indication to look at where you’re investing those emotions. Are you pouring your heart out onto the ground? Pearls before swine? Is it your life, your choices, and your love we’re talking about?

With the Mercury-Mars action we’ve got going now, you may want to double check any fights you’re itching to fight actually belong to you before you go running off your mouth. Because if it’s not truly your business, you better watch out for those Virgo moons. They’re liable to point the fact out.

Do you have trouble keeping your mouth shut when it’s none of your business? Got the astrology for it?

Hi Dixie,

I usually DON’T have trouble keeping my mouth shut when it’s none of my business (gee don’t I sound like Mr. Perfect) but it comes with a draw back; I usually don’t speak up when it IS my business (not so perfect after all am I?).

Come to think of it…the only time I step into someone else’s business is when something on the news burns my butt up. But I have learned how to solve that, I don’t watch the news much. LOL!

Anyway, today’s card made me pull another card. Nine of Cups Reversed. Yikes. Now this wouldn’t normally bother me as the N of C is in fact a great card. But for me, reversed cards are a lesson being learned. So, what’s the message here? “Be careful what you wish for cause someone’s gonna get it”.

In my mind all wishes have their down side. It’s not always that bad of a thing but I believe there’s a void created when a wish is made and something’s gonna fill that vacuum, so I’d better be ready for the down side.

Wouldn’t ya know it. I know just what part of my life this reading is referring to. Dratz.

Anyway…

Have a great day Dixie!!

Be Blessed!!

Since I don’t know the context, it’s hard to give direct examples, but I would have told him exactly why and continued to rant. :P

That’s just me. When I get upset over something, there ARE reasons.

Ever heard the expression: “If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention”? Sometimes it fits.

First of Dixie, let me say you are cracking me up with the reference to Virgo Hubby. My fiance is also a very grounded Virgo while I’m a very flittering and emotional Libra. He brings me down to Earth quickly and often (which, sometimes I need).

At any rate, I just wanted to share something I have learned in reference to your emotional outpouring. I find myself doing this and eventually claiming “victim” status as a result saying “no one understands me.” Once that thought comes into my head, I know…I’m being way too introverted and need to try to better connect with others. That’s easy to do you know? To get all wrapped up in your own dilemma’s that you lose perspective. Maybe the inverted Ace also indicates that we need to flip our own perspective right side up..step back and re-evaluate what it is that is making us so upset and..why.

I don’t interfere. I like to look after my friends and family, but honestly I want to give them space and respect, too.

This is my style
See friend running for cliff.
Say “Hey, friend, do you know there’s a cliff up there?”
“Yep”
“Did you know you’re probably gonna run off that cliff?”
“Oh. No but ….”
“OK that’s fine – I just wanted to let you know in case you didn’t see it.”

Go home, check first aid kit for splints and bandages in case they’re needed.

Not sure really what the astrology is. Moon/Neptune in 7H Sadge is a bit disconnected and fuzzy? Opposite 12H Merc in Taurus, which tends not to be overly emotional either? No idea.

Had the Four of Cups today; was the receiver of some “rantings”; tried to interject some facts and a sense of cristal clarity in a realistic way. One person said they loved me for it. I wound up realizing I’ve forever felt apologetic about my strong Saturn; but see that it has a purpose.

As predicted , the Mercury/Mars in Sag is really building up “out there”.

@ Glenn, “…then the demand “should” (and I really hope it does) drop to near zero users.”
Doesn’t look so with Neptune crossing into Pisces next year a few months after Chiron.
