eva, with your Mars in the 8th, no doubt legacy is involved.
In my case, Mars is conjunct Mercury in the 9th house so I will fight for my freedom, and particularly freedom of speech. I will also fight for my beliefs and my intellectual freedom in general.

Mars in Leo in the fourth house intercepted. It makes me a lunatic sometimes… Do you know if the interception has to do with feeling outraged at unfairness? I also defend my home and family with gusto… I’ve walked two different men off my property with my trusty .357. Only after they wouldn’t leave and had been asked, then told to do so…
Mars in seventh – fight for people close to me (or with them lol).
Virgo mars 9th house trines Venus Capricorn 1st house… I think I am fighting for order on global level of higher learning in culture whilst looking good in my uniform to start my structured legacy….
Mine’s in Pisces in the 4th House… Definately will fight for family and home- but also will be the first to defend the underdog or someone that cannot defend themselves. It’s also conjunct Mercury (which is actually in the 6th house), so I find my fighting style to usually be with words (backed by brain power).
Mars in Virgo conjunct Mercury in 12th House. Arguing behind the scenes for service? Hah.
Today at the post office, someone tried to cut off a guy standing behind me. I told her that he was already waiting, to which she made stupid excuses but acknowledged. Then, at the shitbag supermarket, I watched the cashier blather on and on to a coworker, forcing several customers to bag their own groceries. Normally I bag my own but this was not self serve checkout. So, when it was my turn, I made it a point to ask HOW ARE YOU? Then when it was time to pack, I bagged a few items and asked her point blank to please bag the rest. Which she did, perhaps grudgingly, but so what.

I don’t “fight” for stuff really but I have gone into attack mode for friends and will expend lots of energy to help them. I am not an activist but if I were I would fight for animal’s rights because they are defensless (well the abused ones are). (Mars on the cusp or 11 and 12).
Mars in the first in Sag. I will fight for myself and my ideals. Always. I also fight for animals, the underdog sometimes publicly. Like Carrie, a lot of my power comes from words. People expect that I’ll take charge and I usually do.
Square venus in the 9th, square MC in virgo, trine Saturn in Aries.
The word ‘for’ really changes my answer! I have Mars in Scorpio in my 7th.
I fight for:
- principles (I’m a ‘no exceptions’ type)
- conservation of the environment
- the right to live life how it fits me despite how it often is not what society wants – the biggest themes here are regarding marriage, a partner, children, and my sexuality
I don’t know what in astrology has to do with principles or the whole ‘green’ movement, but that 3rd one definitely fits my Mars in 7th, especially it’s conjunction with Uranus there. Mars opposes my 1st house Moon, which intensifies that stuff.
Mars in Libra Conjunct Asc….I do struggle and flip-flop in fighting for myself…or fighting at all for that matter!
I have Mars in Pisces, House 2.
I don’t like to fight 
Aqua Mars in 4th house sextiling Sun and Uranus. I get somewhat aggressive when I’m being pigeonholed, or when generalizations are made regarding families and/or gender. Sometimes I don’t fight though, I just have this seething anger in me that I don’t let out.

Me too – intellectual freedom is what it’s all about, everything else grows and shoots off that.
Smaller fights: always for the underdog, which includes animal causes (anti-vivisection, re-training of racehorses, dog rescues etc etc – but not ‘animal rights’ which so often gets it all *wrong*)… and also includes “unfashionable causes”, most if which I’m not prepared to shout about on here as I think it’s best to keep politics (in the broadest sense) the boards
Bigger fights: mostly come under the banner of political, in its broadest sense, see above ;^)
PS Mars in Cancer Rx – so I do my fighting behind the scenes, mostly, but no less terrier-like and committed for that
Pisces Mars in the 9th house.. conjunct Moon and Venus, square Neptune.
I fight for my point of view and my freedom of speech and thought. I refuse to be brainwashed or just told what to think! (Maybe that’s my Mercury square Saturn-Pluto) I also fight for victims or fight with people that play the victim role.. I fight to the truth

Mars in Libra. Ironically I fight for my independence and the right to do what I want, when I want. I fight for the right to be left alone. I would fight for that for others too, if they wanted Maybe that’s the Libra part.
Mars in gemini in the 10th, I’ll just go ahead an say it. I never throw the first punch(figuratively speaking) because that would make me look bad. Now on the flip side– if you attack me then I’ll defend myself and because of this I’ll probably gain support, sowwy. If the situation calls for me to defend someone I love, or like, then sure, but I’d much rather help by giving you a pep talk , let you know “I got your back”, because I like seeing people stand up for themselves, fighting their own battles and winning… *twirls halo*
Hey I just realized I have a kind of 3way mutual reception going on with Mars in gemini trine mercury and saturn in cap
The downside is(says libra), once the fight starts I feel like this insatiable need to win, and I can get very nasty/caught up in this, “I can’t lose. So I’m gonna rip you apart!” I’ve really only felt that way once, but it was enough and I’ll never look at myself the same way again. I totally lost sight of what matters, because “I know I’m right.” I have to work to remind myself WHY I’m fighting because I get very tempted to fight for the wrong reasons, to be the weiner..

I fight for the right to be me.
I get really pissed when somebody tries to tell me who I am or tries to pigeonhole me. Nobody gets to define me but me. I also fight to maintain my sense of self.
Mars in capricorn in the sixth house. I fight for the little guy. I defend those who can’t defend themselves. I don’t know whether that is indicated in my sign and house, but it is very true.
Mars in Pisces conj. Mercury…I don’t like to fight, and I passionately tell others I don’t like to fight!!!!
Mars (w/Uranus and Pluton) in the 1st in Virgo – I fight for me (I guess)!
Mars in Scorp in 3rd – liberty, fraternity, equality – TRUTH!! truth in the way that we speak with or about each other. I fight for things that have no voice – like water or whales – I fight bigots, abusers, liars, cheats……I don’t mind fighting or anger. I am not scared. But I have also learned when it is better for my own health to keep quiet.
Mars in Sag. 2nd house conjunct neptune sextile Pluto. I think this sextile to pluto is the best aspect in my chart well the most useful.
and yes I will fight for my stuff, & my freedom
Mars in Taurus in the 8th with Pluto in opposition. I cannot tolerate and will openly speak out against people who try to impose their will upon others.
Aries Mars in the 4th– I fight for my home and my sense of autonomy, which leads (for me) to security.
