Mercury In Libra And The Art Of Being Boring
Astrology in real life
Most know I have Mars conjunct Mercury in Libra. I rarely think of these planets independently but as Saturn wraps up it transit in Mercury’s sign, Virgo, I realized I have become very adept at being socially boring.
The is a real feat, not necessarily because I am not boring but because my double Aquarian mother said it was a sin to bore people which is something that struck me. I’ve believed that most my life but see now… finally that there are occasions (lots of them) when a person should just plain be discreet.
I see there are circumstances where the well mannered thing to do is to have nothing to interesting to say because if you do say something interesting, it will distract the other person who is otherwise engaged.
I can’t believe how long it too me to learn this but I am here to tell you that I have.

I know this without a doubt (Mercury Mars in Cancer)
Oh my god
economic crisis and now boring times
that will be fun. :s
it like no wind in the middle of de ocean??
like Jack Sparrow alone in the David Jones´s locker?
No, I don’t mean this in regards to my blog. I mean in my personal life, people call me and they have whatever it is they want to discuss on their mind (friends not clients this is). I have come to the conclusion I should leave what is on MY mind out as much as possible – be blank – as my actual life, to hear about it is so taxing.
I dont see how You Elsa P. can bore somebody You have the touch Interesting, Funny, Humor sense, etc.
Best Regards !!!
Blessings !!!
Oh Elsa Im sorry
You are so sweet to me.
You are not boring, i agree with Jorge.
(i understand)
Strange analogy, it took me more than 40 years to mute, or at least muffle what people around me were saying.
I used to be way too sensitive to what people talk about – not people I know, but people in general – and it used to annoy me a lot. But now I am desensitized and this is really for my own good, probably due to a mix of taming anger, more concentration, learning, and growing up.
And although being boring or being insensitive might not be a generally “good” thing socially, sometimes it is a necessary skill because then we don’t use unnecessary energy by being “non boring” or “sensitive”…
I think this realization came after heavy Neptune transits but I’m not quite sure (because it’s Neptune!)…
Elsa, what about what you also need from a friendship? It’s a two way street. You have some top shelf friends. A friend doesn’t mind hearing about their friends life, even if it is taxing. It is the privilege of a friend to be there for you in both good times and rough.
Sometimes I think I’m intentionally boring, but, really, how is conversation about “I went to work, and this was on the radio, and this chick said that, and then I came home and this dude said this…” exciting?
BLEH.
I’d just rather not. *grins*
And even though I’ve always been a percolator when it comes to ideas, I’ve noticed my brew-time is significantly slower lately. Not sure if that’s a good thing, bad thing, normal-progressive thing (aging) or transiently-departing thing. Hm.
brizo, none of my friends fall short when it comes to giving to me. If anything it’s the other way around and this is a move towards balance.
Yeah, I learned the benefit of “how are you” and small talk with Saturn in Libra rather than following people around and trying to have a conversation. Just a simple token of respect that doesn’t devolve into awkwardness.
And the benefit of silence. Most people want you not to talk. Hard for a Gemini to learn.
