Astrology And Weddings In May 2011

March 11th, 2010 @ 8:47 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I was just looking at potential wedding charts in May 2011 for a client and these charts are wicked.  In spite of that, you know that legions of people are going marry in this time frame.

While these will be harsh unions I don’t necessarily think people should not go ahead with their plans. Obviously not all marriages are idyllic but I can’t say enough about the value of knowing what you’re getting into, especially in this time frame where Saturn in Libra opposes a huge stellium in Aries.

I do like the drama of it all. You throw the dice and there you have it… sealed with a kiss.

Hmm. Well, aren’t all marriages going to be under harsh aspects in the next few years (ditto births) period? No good time for anything, so I guess on some level if you’re not willing to wait till the end of the decade, you’ll just have to suck it up?

True to an extent but the extent is limited. Venus doesn’t have to be in Aries for example…. squaring the Moon, etc.

In addition to astrology, lots of people use Farmer’s Almanac to predict the weather for a wedding day! While I working at a public library, a patron scowled at me for reading to her that rain was expected.

I wanted to say, “I may be a librarian, but even I can’t change the weather!” Hulloooo??? LOL!

What did you discover Alicia?

Elsa, are Venus and Moon the most important planets to examine when deciding on a wedding date? How would a couple fare if married under a Void moon?

Astrobabe – first this is not my specialty but I think for a wedding you’s definitely want Venus and Moon in good shape. I would look at a void Moon but I wouldn’t look at it first and me personally…

well when I am asked to do this, I consider the client’s natal and personality because people want different things from marriage.

For example, some want serenity, this is a power couple so if I were the astrologer I would consider things like this which I don’t think is standard.

I think the usual is to pick the good days for the year and then when people pay you – you tell them what they are.

I think this because someone posted the dates given to them by a wedding astrologer specialist on the boards here and that astrologer mailed me and asked me to delete the comment, explaining that this was info she sells…

So that is a one size fits all type outlook where I am also going to focus something down and consider the individual(s).

Well, I may contact you for a consultation on this sometime soon too, Elsa. Discussing the wedding yesterday with my fiancé I feel one date that would accomodate both our wishes would be May 21st 2011. I like the Capricorn Moon, which would fall to the 5th house of our personal as well as composite chart. Taurus Venus (which the groom-to-be has natally, too) and Mercury trining Virgo Ascendants of our personal as well as composite charts seem nice for a wedding too. Also, an early afternoon wedding chart would have Virgo rising here, and of course Sun on MC.

Astrobabe, our wedding date is Sept 30 this year–I discovered a big red square! It looks harrowing, but there are very very good points, the moon/venus trine being one. :)
I have to decide on a time too, and right now I’m trying to choose between having Aries or Pisces rising…

I agree that individual tastes make a huge difference. And I think wedding charts are fascinating!

Ooooof, May 2011 is going to be a hell of a set of transits to my chart. I’d better get used to this stuff quick.

We haven’t even got our engagement rings engraved yet, but my fiancé is a multiple Aries, and I’d like get married before I turn 35 (October 2011), so we’ve already discussed the wedding. My fiancé wants it to be in a warmer season, but also wants all his friends there, so May and September are strong contenders for the month. And actually, when I checked the chart for May 21st 2011, I actually got quite a strong feeling that’s the day we’ll eventually pick.

alicia mine is a little later and… erk. it’s kind of exactly what we’d set as intentions, though. so i shouldn’t be surprised it’s not a placid gentle calm sky…
but the conjunction between moon and venus should be nice.

In vedic astrology they say that two people get married because of whatever karma they have to live together in this lifetime.

That may not be necessarily pleasant and that may be indicated in the wedding chart, although I fully agree with Elsa that the natal charts should be considered first to see what’s in there and what is affecting the individuals now.

Today a famous couple announced that they were getting married on July 29, which has Mars in a 1-degree applying conjunction to Saturn and Venus in Virgo, opposing Moon in dreamy Pisces. The guy is famous for his womanizing, he vowed that he was not going to cheat, well, what do you expect with such a wedding chart???

Oh, not to worry, nobody will notice, Neptune will be in Pisces by then ;-) ;-)

Spring 2011 does see a big uptick in weddings Elsa… Most of this is because of the delays in marriages in 2008-2010.

As the Aries stellium builds, there is simply too much impulse and need to consummate personal relationships at this time.

Moreover, not just Saturn, but the transiting Vertex in Libra in early May opposes the stellium of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus in Aries.

There are several dates in May that may be more favorable than most of the month, but many people will chose dates without knowing the transits, and do so on impulse.

Spring 2011 is powerful worldwide, so the impulsive cardinal inclinations will be hard for many couples to avoid.

I’m not sure why but this reminded me of when my husband and I planned our wedding. We were going to get married in October. The year before we went and had our tarot cards read for the year, the guy kept saying June looked better. Stuff happened, we eloped in June, my husband has the good memory and pointed the coincidence out to me.

Interesting. My partner and I were going to get married in 2011 but decided to wait (well, problems exacerbated by the Mars Rx required a lot of attention first). Maybe glad now. :)

This is all fascinating. I’ve been looking at good dates for our wedding, which we hope to be between August and October of 2011 (he’s a Leo, I’m a Scorpio). Any suggestions there? I’ve having a terrible time trying to find good dates in September. I would really appreciate any guidance you all could give! Thanks!!
