Transit Watch: Mercury Retrograde In Capricorn: December 26, 2009
My eye on the sky
Mercury goes retrograde the day after Christmas. You’ll hear a lot about returns and snarled traffic, I thought I’d offer another angle.
Since Mercury has entered Capricorn I have seen my writing become very structured. I have started a newsletters for clients which incorporates writing (Mercury) into business (Capricorn) and requires I discipline my thinking to create something that falls into a specified format.
I have also had a lot of instruction around what communication is appropriate at what time which I have not enjoyed one bit by the way. My natal Mercury is wild and untamed and I don’t even want to hear the words, “formal communication” never mind be schooled on the art.
Capricorn rules work and impediment so with Mercury in the sign, caution around what you say or write is recommended and I imagine the retrograde period is going to require re-do, re-think, and go back and try again when it comes to communications and while I hate to bitch about Saturn, I really don’t like it on my mind.
There is a lot of thinking (Mercury) if you suck (Capricorn) during this transit and right as you arrive at a conclusion… well you’re sent back to re-think it again! ::groans::
Not everything will be thick and thwarted. If you are working within confines already (like my newsletter) things should be smooth and the retrograde period will provide a rest and respite before it’s time to head towards higher heights.
How are you faring with Mercury in Capricorn?

well. it’s in my 1st house, activating my pluto-venus/mars-moon T-square
i’m dating a leo and this morning he told me that because i’m patient with him he’s able to express his thoughts better to me.
as a result i’m getting insight into his scorpio moon/neptune-mars trine.
now i’m going to be really fucking annoying and say “patience is a virtue” ha ha ha

@elsa–”If you are working within confines already (like my newsletter) things should be smooth”
if your habits/actions anticipate the theme of an upcoming retrograde period, does that retrograde always go more smoothly? (should I put this in its own thread in the boards?)
@castle–that word made me giggle!
Scorp- – I’d say yes. I just wanted to offset some of the fear I wind up creating. People who are already coloring inside the lines don’t get whacked the way someone like me will and does and has. I mean if you did it right the first time, you are liable to receive confirmation of that. Or MORE confirmation of that. Like the newsletter. People liked the first, a number of them said so. By the 3rd or 4th if I am doing a good job… there will probably be confirmation of that – otherwise people will unsubscribe. ::smiles:: pretty straightforward!
the programming stuff is starting to gel.. . feel like i’m actually getting somewhere.
my brain went fuzzy while i was sick and it slowed me down… maybe all that sag. not good to blow a lot of wind when one needs to get the details _just so_…
Basicly, I’ve been working, working and working. I’m involved in a demanding, very Libra Saturn project (with a Libra Saturn boss). I’ve never been this absorbed by a paid job before. But I don’t complain: Things like this haven’t really been done before in my field. Even if everything hasn’t been going as smoothly as it could, there’s a very good basic vibe. So, I’m really am willing to do everything possible to make this a success.

I’m behind with an essay for college (actually I haven’t even started it yet, if the truth be told), and as I woke up this morning, it was writing itself in my head… and I mean properly structured sentences, one after another, not just random ideas.
Now if I could just organise a magic pen to write it straight out of my head onto paper for me….
