It seems I write less personal stuff on this blog all the time.  I rarely write about the soldier anymore except on the boards, things have just morphed in this direction. I think when I do write personal stuff people like it.  They pick stuff up, it makes astrology real and so forth so I am going to try to maintain this.

One thing I have tracked on this blog for 5 years now is Saturn’s transit through the houses of my chart.  Saturn is currently in my 9th house (publishing) and I notice my blog has structure these days.

It started with the Year Ago posts, and then the My Eye On The Sky pieces started to be more reliable. It took a year but they have also become uniform over time. This was not intentional. I write what I want so the process was organic and makes me think I am headed somewhere which I surely am.

The transit calendar came next. I wanted to do it and it presented a challenge because it required me to think in new ways and now I started a newsletter.

The newsletter may very well develop.  It was meant as a payback or an offering for people who pay me. It’s an “I appreciate your business and support and want to give something back,” thing but today when I was thinking about how to put together something for next week, I realized I again need to innovate. It’s like wanting to write a good book.

I have never wanted to write a mediocre book, a book that is good enough and that’s it. I want to write something that has some juice. I want to write something no one else would or could write and what a pain that is.

It’s a pain because you have in order to do this you have to face fears of rejection. If you write what anyone would write you’ve got no problem but if you write, write, no telling what will happen.

As a pure example of this, I wrote my friend who died, sisters some days ago and what I wrote was unusual. I hope they can parse it. I hope they don’t think I am weird, see?

I am weird, actually but I’m well intentioned.  Maybe you see what I mean.  It’s a risk. I deal the card and then wait for acceptance or rejection.

Right now I am publishing (9th) my fears (Saturn) and I have to do this. With Mars and Mercury in the 9th, I am to be a daring writer and if not I fail.

I don’t like to fail so I rise to this challenge but not without misgivings. I stir my own concerns but that’s too bad isn’t it?  Saturn in transiting my 9th and this is my job.

My response to this is, arrrgh. ;-)

Thanks. It’s working out. I just finished the eye on the skys for next week and then did the newsletter and definitely see an angle now. Good sign to stumble on it so quickly. I feel relieved.

i’ve found my worries are generally bigger than the actual problem. no matter how big the problem may be.

i’m really excited by the newsletter!

i’m often concerned about coming across as weird, but people don’t seem to be taken aback by it much. not nearly as much as i think they would. i don’t think weird bothers people so much as dark. :/

Dear Elsa Elsa, I could so identify with what you wrote. Writing is so scary sometimes and the more self-revealing you get, the more terrifying it is to put it out there–and I’ve been a published writer since about 1972.

What I find difficult (and yet wonderful) about blogging is that there’s no layer of insulation between you and the reader.

Usually at a minimum there’s an editor and a publisher who have your back and will tell you if it’s okay or if you’re going off the deep end too far. But my vow and my goal for starting a blog has been to be more self-revealing, less didactic. So far it seems to be working okay.

And what this Plutonian has learned over the years is that as long as you’re being honest and true to your own truth, no one can really hurt you. Honesty is disarming. And you are always honest, a lovely quality. Donna

You are not weird…you are a good writer. Well we (your readers) are all enjoying what you write! Sometimes we have to put our hearts out there in our writing. Then people will think what they think, but at least we put it out there! Will look for the newsletter.

Not weird…. genuine. And in this world it is unusual. This was nice to read, Saturn is just orbing on to the cusp of the 9th in my Natal. Looking forward to the change, but that transit did give me much to write about with my own life experiences, so will miss the pass of the 8th in some way.

Morning Elsa,
Found this post as a way of sorting Saturn about to go retrograde on 1/25/11.

Saturn in Libra transits my 9th House, too. Your stories and insight to publishing (and thanks too, Donna for your comments) helps me look at the writing I do. The blog, blog, blogs are my way of connecting — Jupitering even as my tiny vardo life is often ‘off-line’ in all manner of ways.

I am recently back on-line and blogging more and new blogs to beat the band. I signed up for that and it matters that I do it. So thanks for the reminder and clear call.
