Mars goes into Leo on October 17, 2009 and stays there until June 9, 2010 so I hope you like your fire hot!
Mars is at home in a fire sign, ego driven in Leo so this will be interesting.
As to effects on the individual, note the house in your chart where Mars will be transiting for the better part of a year because it is going to be hotted up like nobodies business.
If you are a Leo, a Leo rising or have planets in Leo, this goes double for you.
Personally I have Leo in the 7th and can vividly recall the last time Mars went retrograde in the sign. It was 1994-95 and I had so much strife in relationships at that time, the memory has not yet faded.

Leo 1st house and north node in Leo
8th house. Not surprising.
1st house! I’m excited. After the funk Leo ascendants have been in with all that node business, I’m looking forward to a jump start!
I’m 8th too. If this echos ’94-’95 bring it on. It was a sextravaganza back then.
I have Venus (and Uranus) in 7th. (And Mars in Libra like you).
Guess I should expect some “hotted up” action on the relationship front. (Actually, I have a pretty good idea what it’ll be about. The only unknown is the outcome.)
Just checked out the charts of the other two people involved. I don’t normally do predictive astrology, but looking at everybody’s chart, combined with the info about this transit, I am seeing a possible date for the denouement, and a possible outcome.
This ‘Transit Watch’ packs a punch for me, a ~good~ one, one that puts some bounce back in my step.

This will be in my first, house, also conjunct my natal pluto. This doesn’t sound good, actually.

Hm. It’s going to conjunct my Moon in the 11th and then do a triple pass trining my natal Mars in the 3rd and sextiling my Jup/Ur in the 1st.

This might be a good time to invest in a punching bag, if I’m gonna have that long of a Mars trine Mars transit. Maybe a jungle gym too. :S
I have it and I love it – 7th house, fire onstage. Can’t wait for it, it will lower the heating costs this winter.
My MC is LEO 0degree… hmmm… I hope nothing drastic happens on the career front. I’ve been deciding how to direct some of my schooling for the next few months (Going to college in the summer, but wanted to used some saved up winter money to get some astrology classes done in the spring between Kelly Lee Phipps or Ben Berstein.. I can’t decide on it, or if theres better options, also joining the collsuem as soon as I pay rent this weekend. LOL!)
However my spidey sense has been tingling since August. Since then my boss quick the company and a new boss is in town… and I just feel this is going to lead into a dramatic winter, and I’m not going to be able to handle it and be dramatic about everthing myself… ugh, thinking about drama just exusts me.
But that just may be me getting a little too pessimistic. Leo screams drama though. I haven’t been able to see transits coming in a focas manner since last spring, my mind is so foggy.
3rd house here…something with my sis? Perhaps an exorbitant amount of communication? (watch out on the boards everybody!)

Ahhh, 7th house: RELATIONSHIPS (cue suspenseful music). Hot! Hot! Hot! could be good, right? right? blerg.
This will be in my 11th house and will include natal Venus at 4:30 Leo and natal Pluto at 15 Leo. Venus rules my 2nd and 9th; Pluto rules my 3rd. Should be interesting. 1994-95 was a very intense time in my career. In my computer career I was very challenged but it was a foundational time that generated a lot of success and prosperity. I was also beginning to study astrology around that time. This should be interesting.
Leo on the 7th, not looking forward to it but I am more concerned by its aspects to my MC — Mars is going to square Mars, and my Saturn, and I am a little scared about what is going to happen then.
2nd half of 5th house and 1st half of 6th house. Maybe I’ll lose even more weight once it goes into my 6th, Lol.
Leo covers half of my 3rd and half of my 4th, with natal Saturn pretty much smack dab in the middle.
Transiting Saturn will go conjunct my Mars in Libra, once it gets off my Virgo Mercury and wipes through my Sun-Pluto conjunction in Libra. So I guess I’ll have some double Mars-Saturn action going on.
Anyone with natal Mars-Saturn aspects want to give me some ideas of what that’s like?
8th house, at least in the Placidus system. This both scares and excites me. Since it involves other people’s money, perhaps it won’t be too bad for my business plans.
Leo = my 4th house… where natal Uranus and Pluto are. What the heck does that mean???

My Leo sun, conjunct my MC, also have Venus in Leo conjunct Uranus in Leo in the 10th – well i just started grad-school, and I could use the boost of energy. Have also had health problems, so I am hoping this will mean more vitality – pretty sure all in all this will be good for me!
i’ve got mostly 12 house and some first house, along with my Leo Rising. been saying i’ll have wicked good hair the whole time, but god knows what i’ll end up with.
i think with the 12th house emphasis, though, i should be stepping up public service work. i have Pisces on the 7th (with saturn squarely plopped down), so that’s a second vote for public service work…

I have Mars in Leo Natally in the 8th house. Transit will put Mars in the 7th house so relationships are going to be hot. OMG. 7th house in Cancer for me … my mate is sun Cancer and Leo will transit his 11 house.
So … relationships and hopes and dreams heat up. That could be a really good thing. That would be my hope:)
Saturn conjunct Pluto in Leo in the 9th – sure as hell won’t be traveling, can’t afford it! But maybe I will get serious about looking into e-publishing.
Saturn-Pluto are hooked into my Sun, Moon, Venus & Mars (some aspects are wide), either sextile or square. Probably get a boot in the backside to do SOMETHING!!!
At any rate, with a Mars ruled chart, I tend to view Mars going retrograde suspiciously . . .
Suspiciously indeed. I think you’re right Neith. Mars retrograde in Leo may be HOT HOT HOT wherever it appears in a chart, but that doesn’t mean it will be all FUN FUN FUN. That said, my astrology teacher Carole Devine once made the point that there are really neither good experiences nor bad experiences. They are rather all LEARNING experiences.
Seventh house, but I have no planets in Leo. I suspect I’m going to be a lot more concerned with the Saturn transit of my stellium in Libra that I’ve got going on at the same time.
…and I’m only sayin’ this because there’s a lot of optimism here about this transit, including on my part, but seriously, realistically, what are we thinking? When has Mars retrograde, like Mercury Rx and Venus Rx, ever been all sunshine and roses? That 1994-95 period proved to be, in the long run, very productive, but at the time, it was hard work. It looks good now, 15 years later, but back then I wasn’t exactly whistling “Somewhere over the rainbow…”
You could say I’m experiencing my “Mars Return.” Mars in Leo in 5th This is highly encouraging because I’ve been working on an action plan for the last 4 months… Now, in mid-October, it will likely be a manifestation of this!

sanguine i have mars in aries trine saturn in leo. when i was young (ie. elementary school) i had a bad temper. one of my siblings tried to teach me how to not react…it took until i was in my early 20s.
my anger is fairly controlled now. i don’t yell or break things but i do still feel it. i say get acquainted with a disciplined (saturn) form of anger (mars). and hey, some people swear by a little discipline in the sack, but i wouldn’t have a clue who those people are.
i think mars-saturn people can show people that being angry is okay…it can help with your emotional survival as long as you are not destructive to yourself or others. just think of all the injustice that has been confronted throughout the narrative of humanity, just because someone got pissed off enough to stand up and be counted
learning (saturn) to pick your battles (mars) has been a very big lesson for me in life.

I have a cancer rising, but the first house is largely occupied by leo. So I would say my first house and second house. P.S. I have a husband with a leo rising, a child with a leo rising and a child with a leo moon. It will be eventful.
11 th and 12th houses, quite equally divided, since the cusp is at 12’33 Leo.
1994-95 Mars in Leo period was actually amazing for me. Mars first entered Leo just a couple of days after my 18th birthday. The 1995 retrograde period pretty much coincides with my final exams at secondary school. I studied hard, but also had a chance to relax with an amazing group of friends and my little brother (5-years-old chatty and imaginative Gemini…). I don’t remember feeling particularly anxious about the results, I knew my strenghts, but actually surpassed expectations especially in languages. And my college admission exams later on went well too – I actually got the results during an exact transitting Mars conjunct natal Sun passage in August 1995.
So, if that’s anything to go by, I definitely NEED this retrograde period, possibly to finally get my college degree and a job in which I can use my full potential and won’t feel such an underachiever.
11th house, Mars in Leo natally. Hoping for an energy boost rather than fighting everyone. Mars rules my 7th.Hmmmm.
Mars and Venus in Leo in the 4th (Koch) with Aries Rising. By Whole signs its a 5th house adventure. I have some big creative projects underway for this period so this could be very helpful. I am looking forward to it…

With my natal Mars in Libra, and Saturn set to transit my Sun/Pluto et al, it might be time for me to learn your same lesson from the opposite direction.
I’m Leo rising and my Mars is in Aires (7th house), I’ve got Venus and Mercury in my 7th house as well as Descendant on the cusp. Crowded House. I’m strangely excited! Seeing as my Sun, Moon and Rising are all fire I think I might thrive in these conditions.
I have Sun in Leo, in 10th house, Mercury in Leo 11th… I have a lot coming up in the way of performing in public by singing and acting…I hope it is a good thing!

A question for those who hold the wisdom and intelligence in regards to astrology. I am one who loves astrology mainly the science behind it. I want to know, if their is anyone who can explain my chart to me. I was born 8/16/1985 in minneapolis, mn. I have done an online chart and if i am reading correctly. I have sun in leo, mars in leo, and mercury in leo which i believe if correct. They all fall in the seventh house. I AM NERVOUS TO KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS. Elsa, I read yours was also in the seventh house and you had some relationship dramas. I am a mother of two girl 9/2/05 and boy 8/31/07 the father of my children was born 11/1/1985 him and I at most times are battling each other. COULD THIS BE THE SAME THING??? I am Capricorn with an 11th house Leo but no Leo planets. I do have Virgo Uranus & Pluto 11th house with my natal Virgo Mars sitting in my 12th house. I gotta get back to studying astrology again. 7th and 8th for me: 8th house cusp at 15′Leo, Saturn (= Psyche/Eros mp) at 12. Guessing I’ll be pushed to be generous (I’m wildly conflicted; my 4 planet stellium in Libra says it’s definitely not my turn) – or to cut the cord. Wich is really too bad, but sound.

BEWARE: In financial astrology, Mars is symbolic of “cuts,” taking a cut, such as a broker’s fee when selling one’s home, or the necessity of cutting the price of one’s home for a quick sell.
Further, it is also symbolic of one taking a “cut,” of a sale, such as the rising price of a stock, selling short of the recommeded high, taking a profit.
Caution is exceedingly important.
My last Mars retrograde occurred in my 2nd house of personal resources, things turned nasty after I had hired a subcontractor that turned out to be basically worthless, but I couldn’t find anyone to do the work I needed, so I put up with it, and he took a big “cut,” out of my personal resources of $6500, therefore further cutting my profits on the home I would sell.
Remember, the retrograde means there will be delays, then reversals, and the outcome will not be what you expect!!!!!!
I was kinda 15-16 years old in 94-95, but I remember having such a wonderful time with new friends. Going dancing often, exploring Manhattan through entirely new eyes, doing amazingly in high school…
This week, I’ve felt a rebirth. My energy level is very, very good and I have an outlook on life similar to the one I had in my mid-teens. Obviously I’m more mature now and wiser and all that stuff. But it feels as though the innocence hasn’t fully gone away, even if I’m thirty, and that makes me so happy .

If I am reading it correctly, i have sun, mercury and mars in leo which fall in the seventh house, right? Is there anyone on here who would be willing to give me a small breakdown or correct me if i am wrong. I dont know with mars in leo where its transiting in my chart. Any help on here?

Hi Everyone! Last time Mars was about to enter Leo, I had my first baby boy! It’s all good memories but if it was to have any influence on my marriage, it was perhaps that we slept with the baby between us! But that was a mutual decision and we were all happy.
The first 15°37’11″ of Leo are in my 7th house but Leo is my 8th house cusp. My Natal Mars is 7°50’23″ Leo but back then I can’t remember any drama at that transit.

I was on the freeway today and had a conscious thought about the traffic being slower than usual. The first time I had that thought was Saturday driving to soccer games. I was bracing myself for Mars in Leo to make traffic faster and now it’s slower… I don’t get it. But traffic is only 70 instead of 75 which is usually traveling speed around here. Or could it be Neptune opposite my Sun making me confused… I can’t figure it out anymore!

I’ve natal Mars in Leo, although it’s at the 29th degree (natally in 6th house). Right now it’s making a nice trine to venus and sextile to Saturn (which itself is making a sextile to venus, Saturn’s coming up on it’s SR in my 7th house), hoping some romance will kick in! Transiting leo will move back into my 5th house for a minute during the transit, I’m interested to see what that will do. It should be making nice hits throughout, sextiling or trining natal stuff except at the end when it squares my Uranus!
I have Leo in my 7th house of partnerships and let me tell you it has been Hot hot hot but not in a good way. We have not stopped fighting since Mars got here. I am learning a lot about myself through it all though. I have had to deal with my ego, my old emotional wounds, and all types of other fun stuff. This is really hitting me and my man HARD. Everyday is a battle and its the same fights over and over. I know he is the one for me and once we learn everything we need to we will be over it, but really, another what How many months?!? I am already exhausted. We are already exhausted. This is like relationship Hell, yes Hot to say the least.
