Astrology Today: September 1, 2009 – “I’m shocked at the stupidity..”
My eye on the sky
The Moon escapes Capricorn for Aquarius and most are glad of it as people lighten up… some.
Communications are very stressed with Saturn in Virgo opposing Uranus. People ’round the world are just shocked by the other person’s lousy ideas and stupidity and the sides are interchangeable of course.
On top of that, Mercury (communications) is square both Mars and Pluto and it is very easy to get CUT OFF or amputated for saying the wrong thing.
Desire to control… everything is also running rampant. Good luck with that.

I just got call display!! wooooo hooooo! so for the first time in my life I can answer my phone with ease (or, as is more likely, not answer my phone with ease, ha ha).
No more *69s of a dollar a pop variety for me! :::tee hee:::
I think so.
Me three, Jilly. I found myself raging about a strongly critical opinion about my lifestyle today. Reading this … I have options. War? Maybe not.
I hope I don’t say anything wrong!
congrats, kashmiri. caller id will change your life.
not digging saturn/uranus either. i have trouble sleeping and get all tweaked up and charged and anxious during these exchanges.
i defaulting to my old tried and true plan of keeping my mouth as shut as possible. especially if i run across something that pushes my buttons.
i guess having this stuff wound up natally makes it less of a blip….
well, but that mercury/pluto/mars thing, on the other hand… walk carefully. whew!
thanks goddess!:)))) i am ridiculously happy about this thing that everyone does normally, sooo….!
Kash, i love your happy spirit! =)
Goddess, i was wondering why i have been having such a hard time sleeping thru the night…it must have something to do with the saturn/uranus happenings….
Strange day. Mixed blessings. A cat who had been missing 10 days, returned home – but with some very expensive injuries.
One thing I’ve noticed with Saturn in Virgo opposing Uranus, for the better, is that people seem to be whining / whinging less.
Gloria, Elsa mentioned a while back Uranus can interfere with sleeping, and I’ve noticed pretty clearly the Sat/Uran exchange we’ve been happening makes it acute for me. Trouble getting to sleep even if I’m exhausted, waking up in the night, waking up early. And my brain goes off in every direction like one of those bug zappers on a busy summer night.
October – I’m so glad your kitty is home, but sorry he’s hurt.
Isn’t it only mutable signs that are having trouble sleeping?
I agree Jilly. I was chalking it up to the combination of Saturn in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. People are more accepting of reality, buckling down to the realization that things are the way they are, and that we need to be practical and work for what we need and want, and that we’re in this for the long haul. I’m noticing this despite the Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron bubble.
Man, I shoulda remembered this before I blew this morning. Hm.
moon in aquarius seems to be reinforcing my natal moon in aquarius and i feel pretty damn fine. perfect for my first few days in a big college campus. home in a crowd.
This is exactly what it’s like at work. I had to walk away from a supervisor because she was being ridiculous and my coordinator and supervisor weren’t there today.
SEPTEMBER 1, 1939
I sit in one of the dives
On Fifty-second Street
Uncertain and afraid
As the clever hopes expire
Of a low dishonest decade:
Waves of anger and fear
Circulate over the bright
And darkened lands of the earth,
Obsessing our private lives;
The unmentionable odour of death
Offends the September night.
Accurate scholarship can
Unearth the whole offence
From Luther until now
That has driven a culture mad,
Find what occurred at Linz,
What huge imago made
A psychopathic god:
I and the public know
What all schoolchildren learn,
Those to whom evil is done
Do evil in return.
Exiled Thucydides knew
All that a speech can say
About Democracy,
And what dictators do,
The elderly rubbish they talk
To an apathetic grave;
Analysed all in his book,
The enlightenment driven away,
The habit-forming pain,
Mismanagement and grief:
We must suffer them all again.
Into this neutral air
Where blind skyscrapers use
Their full height to proclaim
The strength of Collective Man,
Each language pours its vain
Competitive excuse:
But who can live for long
In an euphoric dream;
Out of the mirror they stare,
Imperialism’s face
And the international wrong.
Faces along the bar
Cling to their average day:
The lights must never go out,
The music must always play,
All the conventions conspire
To make this fort assume
The furniture of home;
Lest we should see where we are,
Lost in a haunted wood,
Children afraid of the night
Who have never been happy or good.
The windiest militant trash
Important Persons shout
Is not so crude as our wish:
What mad Nijinsky wrote
About Diaghilev
Is true of the normal heart;
For the error bred in the bone
Of each woman and each man
Craves what it cannot have,
Not universal love
But to be loved alone.
From the conservative dark
Into the ethical life
The dense commuters come,
Repeating their morning vow;
“I will be true to the wife,
I’ll concentrate more on my work,”
And helpless governors wake
To resume their compulsory game:
Who can release them now,
Who can reach the deaf,
Who can speak for the dumb?
All I have is a voice
To undo the folded lie,
The romantic lie in the brain
Of the sensual man-in-the-street
And the lie of Authority
Whose buildings grope the sky:
There is no such thing as the State
And no one exists alone;
Hunger allows no choice
To the citizen or the police;
We must love one another or die.
Defenceless under the night
Our world in stupor lies;
Yet, dotted everywhere,
Ironic points of light
Flash out wherever the Just
Exchange their messages:
May I, composed like them
Of Eros and of dust,
Beleaguered by the same
Negation and despair,
Show an affirming flame.
—W.H. Auden (Pisces)
A conversation did occur which took me a day to process. Thanks heavens I do look up these skies. As in an expression from my native land, prior to speaking I did “turn my tongue 7 times in my mouth before uttering any words” (hope it translates!). I mostly listened and said little in response to the astonishingly incongruous stuff I was hearing, which I know some of you would probly hold the other person up for. But I was on damage control mode and damage was minimized (say only essentials, keep the conversation short, end it politely.) Rough.
Amputating IS on my mind…
