This grand cross is something else.  I had a busy morning and I’ve not walked or done any exercise for a week. I am the kind of person who simply has to have some kind of outlet or I start to feel bad so I decided to go walking this afternoon even though I strongly prefer the mornings. I figured it was the quickest way to end my losing streak so I threw on some workout shorts and a tank top and when I glanced in the mirror, I thought I looked ridiculous.

I am someone who always looks ridiculous unless I really make and effort and what I am saying here is I have fallen off the beam but I did not have a lot of time to fuss so I took off as is and headed down the street to the park telling myself no one would be looking at me anyway and just to get my ass in gear.

A block away there was a young girl, African, standing on the sidewalk with a little boy.  She looked like a Virgo babysitter to me or perhaps the kid was her little brother. In whatever case, she was real cute and  standing int the shade wearing these long over-sized shorts down to her mid-calves.

Her energy was nice but I immediately felt embarrassed because my shorts were tight and just decidedly out of style. What can I say? I am an un-stylish old lady who prefers to be naked anyway but I did feel ashamed to an extent which had me chastise myself just a little more.

The gal was at a point in the street where I veer over to the other side on a diagonal to hit the park so I cut off her side of the street and headed over a little early to avoid their having to step aside and let me pass. I glanced at the girl before I crossed and she was clearly friendly so I said, “Hi.”

“Hi,” she said.  I kept walking, “Hey,” she yelled.  I turned and looked over my shoulder. “How do you get your butt… UP?” she asked, raising her hand up sharply.

I stopped and looked at her like she was crazy. “My butt?” I asked wondering if she was mocking me or what. I mean, was I going to have to slap this young-un, what the hell?

“Yeah. How do you get it up like that?  Do you do… some butt exercises to keep it up like that?” She tipped her pelvis and clenched her butt. “Some of these?” she asked. “What do you do? I would like to get my butt up like that.”

“Um… I think it’s genes,” I said, “I don’t do much.”

“You sure look good.”

I was so shocked I could only manage to mumble my thanks. The astrology? Support (Saturn) from the neighborhood (Mercury) Virgo, I guess. But out of the blue sky (Uranus)!
