I have and I will again if I have to. I, like everyone else is waiting for Saturn to go direct at which time I think thing will start to become more clear – and eventually crystallized.
I am in a phase right now where I am mulling everything. I don’t have a plan but I am seeing the need for one and I am sure many of you can relate.
I am happy to share my thoughts on this as they come to me and this is what I know as of today:
I like writing this blog. There is no doubt about it. I think it is a great blog, I think it is important, I think it is better than ever, getting better all the time and destined to become more and more valuable in the future as Pluto transits Capricorn, Saturn turns direct wraps up in Virgo, hits Libra and then Scorpio.
Post that time, I don’t know but between now and then – say the next 6-7 years, I am pretty sure I am going to be a person you are going to want to know.
My first and best hope is that I can carry as-is because I don’t like closed systems. I don’t like excluding people however I see the necessity and already have “paid content” in the form of classes.
The classes… well they’re a bargain and they are deep like me. They are definitely worth the dime so in a sense this is already happening. Will I have to expand it? Maybe but I hope not.
My first and most favorable option is to convince people that in fact there has been a shift and if they want quality and innovation they are going to have to support it. Not have the other guy support it, but support it themselves.
It’s like having a good lover or freedom or some other wonderful thing. If you don’t value it, you are going to lose it. Maybe not soon but eventually – this is a law of nature.
Many of you have learned much from the soldier and I, about love and other things. One thing is clear, we appreciate each other and we express this routinely. It is a way of life around her so while some may think my begging is distasteful it is actually more for you than it is for me. I am trying to tell you to value the thing while you have it, hold on to things you can’t replace because I am going with the flow regardless.
If I flow right into the sewer, I am still going with the flow, you can bet your life on this because my faith is as it is.

That’s a very good point. I am glad you made it however I don’t know how to answer it. I have a packed 8th house and I think in terms of the collective and I look for signs.
I do not expect uniformity which is another reason I am not keen on the subscriber site. Some people are poor and some people think they are poor.
Some people are rich and know it. Some people are cheap and know it. Some people are flat out generous, etc.
Based on this I would not be inclined to try to make people conform. What I am looking for is a feeling (Neptune) that I am supported (Saturn).
Does it matter to me if the support comes from one person or a hundred? It does not.
My main thing here is to try in these next weeks (before Saturn turns direct) to coax people into breaking down and sending support which I think every single person reading knows I deserve.
If I cannot manage this, then I am quite sure when Saturn turns direct things will happen and logic can predict this.
Saturn is in VIRGO. Virgo = writing. That I have something to say is inarguable.
If I am supported to write on this blog – that will be my JOB. If I am not supported to write on this blog, it will be my job to write people in private consult, posting only occasionally to the blog or perhaps not at all.
See, Saturn is transiting my 8th house!!! The COLLECTIVE (8th house) will support or withhold support and based on what they do, I will guided.
It may be that you guys start to support me in various ways or for all I know I win the lottery and that is my sign but one way or the other there is sure to be something that indicates a direction.
My job between now and then is to try to get what I want – what I think is best, which is to broadcast so this is what I an doing.
But I do this humbly, knowing full well the universe may have other designs and if this is the case, I will yield, and swiftly.
This is a Saturn transit, there can be no fucking around. The path will be there, I will commit to it and I can tell you for sure, this is non-negotiable for a person like me.

Unfortunately, if there is to be a standard….there is going to have to be some type of fee to be able to maintain it….
I would absolutely subscribe!
I’ve been viewing this blog regularly for about 3-4 months. During that time I’ve joined a beginners class for $30, had one consultation for $50 and tipped twice, $20 each time. That adds up to $120 and say over 4 months, it breaks down to abt $30 a month. I’ve been sitting here doing the math after reading this post and realize that even if 100 readers contributed $10 a month that would be $1,000 …. & well $1,000 a month is not exactly a hefty salary. Of course, I’m sure that would be an extra $1,000 greatly valued, but not enough. So my thought on this is that it’s worthy for Elsa to remind readers about tips from time to time (and it is not begging!) but focus on promoting her consulations and classes more and charging more in that area. I haven’t seen any other astrologer on the web who charges so little for readings and/or classes. Again, I thnk Elsa does this to make these things available for lots of people, but she already makes so much available for lots of people through the blog. So my 2 cents on this matter is …keep the blog free, encourage the tips and UP the charges on the consultations and classes. Also, I’m not sure if it is feasible for Elsa to ever lecture live given family or personal situation, but should she ever decide do that, I would want to attend and I would hope she would charge what other esteemed astrologers are charging. Now if Elsa does go to subscriptions, I’m with Jessica, I would def pay. In the meantime, I’m going to remember to tip and try to tip more because in the end, I read here almost every day and it’s worth a lot to me!!!
Lindsey, thanks. This is a big topic behind the scenes. I know my rates are cheap. There are a lot of people who feel this costs me business. That people would think I must be no good if it’s that cheap.
It’s a big dilemma for me because I do want to be accessible. I also think the economy should be considered. It’s very complicated to try weigh everything but I am trying to do exactly that as you can see and I feel if I struggle with it, I will eventually figure it out. I mean, this stuff is going to show itself, the Saturn transit will have it be no other way.
On the tips, I don’t know exactly how to encourage them but I am thinking about this as well. Should I name people who tip?
Sometimes I think I should but I am not sure everyone would like that. Some people do not like to broadcast their support, see?
Anyway, I don’t have the answers but I am looking for them and appreciate everyone’s input very much.
here is another thing… I am pretty sure this is the case.
If I walked off this blog I think it would endure. I think with the message board and all the content, it would become like Linda Goodman’s site – thriving long after she has left the building.
Such is the type of my energy. It seeds things, see?

Seriously. People get pissed off (energized) on my blog and go give the present to the other person. “Here! I am going to support you because you are not that bitch, Elsa!”

Anyway, if I die I will still be here, see? I have always thought I would fare better dead. That this will be the case, to me is a given.

In the scenario where the other astrologer is supported due a person’s hate or anger towards me – if I cease to exist the support drops off because there is nothing to rail against, see?

well, i’ve known other astrologers have levels of material availale ontheir sites, some of which requires a subscription, some of which doesn’t.
i’d pay more now for a consult than i did the last time, but i couldn’t have afforded more back then. and i’m not so desperate for information now. so i really appreciate your willingness to be the voice of the universe for those who don’t have much, too…
you could consider some sort of sliding scale, but break it down more specifically (poor/think you’re poor/cheap, rich, generous, whatever. though i guess you might want to come up with other terms for it 
and maybe offer other tidbits on the upper ends, like you do your extra content in the classes…
eg i’d be happy to pay a small sum a month for your daily astrology report. i hang on to those like a lifeline.
but, then again, maybe that’s something everybody should be able to see, particularly as advertising for your ability to work with transiting planets…

People who are saying they would be willing to pay something, why not just do it? I don’t get it. If it is a lifeline and “worth it” then why not make the donation and offer your support?
wyrdling, I don’t mean to single you out. There are a number of people who have said the same thing (and I know you are tough) but seriously! If you are willing to pay and think it is right, what in the world stops you? Do you think I will get rich or something.::smiles::
Don’t worry! I will never be rich! I give everything I have away every day. How the hell is someone like me supposed to be rich? It will never happen. I do however have to survive. I do have to pay these bills and eat and so forth.
Do you hear about me going on vacation or even so much as out to dinner? I have a gym membership that cost $11 a month. They is what I spend on myself, people.
$11 a month and I eat.
it’s easy to not notice the passage of time if you don’t get a reminder.
plain laziness, i think.
or people could get some extra membership on the boards like they already do in the class as regular contributors and have some sort of star or something next to their names… and automated reminders to renew… that would help me
don’t know how complicated that would be to manage…
Have you considered doing a monthly newsletter type thing that people could subscribe to?
I am sure I said this about a year ago, but there is a famous blogger, Heather Armstrong, who writes dooce.com. Her content is similar to yours in that it is very personal, funny, and insightful, and the storylines are very close to her life, about her husband and daughter. She’s a graphic designer herself so her site is very visually fancy, and I just feel like you could be successful like that. She wrote a book (so did you), she goes on book tours, she reviews products, and all in all she makes a living for her family from this site. Now YOU also do services for people, with the AstroDispatch and your blog and consultations, and it seems like this could be a multi-channel income model!
I really want to be able to touch base for the aries/cap uranus/pluto square coming up.
