My phone rang, it was the soldier. “You called me, P? Looks like I missed your call.”

“Yeah, I was going to ask you if you wanted corned beef and cabbage for St Paddy’s but I made a decision on my own.”

“That was a good decision you made,” he said.

Whew! (We’re having it)

Since my birthday is St. Patrick’s day, that’s MY meal. My mom used to make it every year. Since she’s passed away, I haven’t had it once since.

I crave it every time I see the shamrocks hit the department stores. :)
