Speaking Of Madonna… And Astrology

Astrology in real life

kashmiri brought up Madonna and her 12th house sun on Vocation. I responded:

“Sun in Leo and she dramatizes all these God themes….”

kashmiri said:

“I’ve never thought of it like that before. she does, doesn’t she!”

Yeah, where Madonna missed the boat is she doesn’t do a thing for other people. Nothing! My sister (also an astrologer) had some thoughts about her when she first broke out / made her first million. She specifically said she would be well advised to hire me to consult with around her career.

“Me?” I asked. This was years ago.

“Yeah, you. What would you tell her to do?” my sister asked.

“Give the million dollars away.”

She stared.

“Well, what she wants is attention and if she made her first million and gave it away, every cent, she’d be all over the news and she’d have a million back probably within a week… probably within a day. Everyone would buy her album, She’d be immortalized.”

“See? No one in the world would advise her that but you. Think anyone around her is going to have an idea that good?”

“No, probably not.”

“Well maybe she’ll call.”

I just snorted.

I noticed Madonna’s recent (couple years ago) attempts at adopting foreign children like Angelina, didn’t work well for her. But Angelina gets praise and works with the united nations, etc. In an interview Madonna seemed very upset and just couldn’t seem to understand tha here she was adopting a child yet people and the media were seeing her actions with disapproval.

Feel like I grew up with her – she is 2 years older than me. I thought she finally got the relationship thing right with this last marriage; have to say, I was disappointed for her. I have always admired her ability to re-invent herself, and still be successful in a business literally filled with has-beens. I think the last thing I read about her they showed a picture of some young boy-toy that she I guess is hooked-up with. I can’t say she is someone to “look up to”, but she sure as hell has had an interesting life.

She gives all her money to that Kaballah cult.

I am five months older than Madonna and we both have Virgo moons. But what turns me really, really off about her is her lack of empathy. I think that she is a a sociopath. I also think that she is an emotional vampire…she uses her charm and charisma to get affection and love from others. But she isn’t willing to give affection and love.

“She does nothing for other people.”

Art is not nothing. Neither is entertainment. And to give ALL your money away, while it may seem grand, is in reality careless and a bad example. Counting on the fact that she’ll probably “make another million next week” is another bad example.
I’m glad she didn’t give her money away.

I am not a fan of Madonna. She used shock value to climb her way to the top and that just bores me. I like to see authenticity of which she seems to have none.

I’m an 80′s child (’81), and I looooved Madonna. She did a lot for me as far as being an outgoing/showy kid. I loved to dance and sing her songs in front of ANYONE that would watch me. I still sing a couple of her songs at the top of my lungs in my car (“Into the Groove” mostly), it takes me back to the confidence and care-freeness you have as a child. Nostalgic, I know.

Her phony British accent annoys the hell out of me though.

Are you sure she doesn’t give Anything?

I liked her in the beginning of her career. She strikes me as a person who would step on anyone’s head to get ahead,be in the spotlight and make a buck. She tries to be shoking and ya know nothing shocks me anymore so it is old news, lol. Guy prob divorced her so he could have his balls back. :P

That 20-year old Brazilian model she’s been cougaring around is pretty hot I must say.

The woman is just plain chilly. Her virgo moon makes my Cappy moon look positively squishy.

What flips me out is how she spends so little time with her kids. There’s videos of Lourdes being all like, when my mom comes home, she’s going to spend time with me, not with Rocco. She doesn’t seem to be too involved with them.

As for Madonnna and giving, the Kaballah thing is new. She is not a giving person as all because I saw her on Oprah some years ago (perhaps 5?) she started pontificating to Oprah about giving… she stated she had just found out about it and Oprah almost fell out of her chair having had that Angel Network for YEARS at that point.

You know how you can tell when Oprah thinks someone should shut up? You just don’t be as rich as Madonna is and reveal you have never given anyone anything PLUS when you do discover at 40 years old that you might MIGHT donate something, you don’t preach about it to people like me… or Oprah or any of the other hundreds of millions who give as a matter of course.

So this is where I get my info. I heard her say it.

Where does the un-givingness come from? Leo’s are supposed to be generous, ya? Or is she an extreme case of EGO, that she doesn’t think of anyone else, period? I couldn’t imagine being as wealthy and blessed with fans as her and not giving back.

But I still love the 80′s entertainer in her.

XenoVega – you don’t know a good publicity stunt when you see one. Besides, we had her chart so we were not working blind.

In whatever case she took a distinctly different path and to be honest I was never interested in her anyway, my sister was.

I should add, personally I could care less if someone gives. I figure it’s their business. What galled me was her educating the rest of us after she told Oprah in plain languague that she had ‘discovered giving”.

“You just discovered it.”

“Yes. And blah, blah, blah, this is what is is….”

It was a stunning conversation. Oprah was… well the look on her face was priceless but then she caught herself – got herself together because this was Madonna, after all. She get her on your show you don’t fuck up, even if you’re Oprah which sort of told the whole story. No one is going to tell Madonna a damn thing. I clicked the TV off after about 2 minutes, it was stunning in a way that was comical.

I think it may not really matter if we are rich or not. I must honestly admit I have learned to give only in my 40s. And while I am not proud of this fact, this is the truth. Before, every time I was asked to give something I used to resist it, not realizing it made me suffer even more. But I guess I used to equate money with my self-worth. Which is not, and once you realize you just give and that’s all that matters, it’s a big “duh”. Now I give my time and energy by doing what I can and as I am not a rich person, give money when I can afford.

I am not justifying Madonna in any way, but I seem to remember she grew up in a lacking environment and maybe for her, first knowing that what she earned was ALL for herself was important.

Now that I think about it, my parents did not give freely at all when I was a child, which further made me a non-believer of spontaneous giving.

Maybe, especially for people who have been giving all their life, it is hard to understand, but we all grow up at a different pace, and people can change once they realize that this can make your life much richer.

Personally, I DO care a fuckin’ lot if someone with that much money gives or not. I mean …

I do Now that the topic has come to my attention, I do.

Anyway, at least she discovered giving eventually…or did she?

This is still confusing but I do know another human being with a 12th house Leo sun (1 degree leo, 2 rounded up).

EXTREMELY GIVING HUMAN BEING WITH VIRGO RISING TO BOOT. very very very giving…

Well, Loon, I just figure she;ll be born poor next time and probably desperately so. I let the universe mess with stuff like that. But that is what she said… and what Oprah said.

And then I said, ‘I have to turn off this tv of delusion.

I don’t know who donates to what, I think a lot of big names like to have people know so it gets out if they donate to this or that, but I have an idea there may be many that donate anon or don’t make it public who they do donate to.

I really feel if they are working their asses off in whatever field, they can do whatever they want or don’t with the proceeds.

It would make me sad to think that some donate to things that hurt people or animals but that is that person’s choice and Karma one way or another, and I sure as hell can’t stop it.

If I had like lets say Oprah’s money or Madge’s I would donate to SPCA’s and Animal shelters and starving Children… which of course would piss off people that say Children first.

I think when you have that kind of coin, you just plain piss people off LOL That is why I would definitely go the anon route and let people hate me for not being a donater.

Well there is giving and then there is GIVING. If you know what I mean. There needs to be heart and soul behind it in order for it to make a difference. Maybe that’s why even if Madonna does have charities she supports now there is no energy refracted…Do you know what I’m saying? Now someone like Melinda Gates is a woman to admire. She is all about the GIVING. As someone who runs a charity I see this all the time. There are people who give from the heart and they live it regardless of their circumstances. This is how I was raised and who I’ve become. Oh and another thing, it’s not just money that charities need. Volunteers, talent, time, effort, interest, stick-with-it-ness….sadly lacking in this society based on my experience. People are so goddamn self involved. I know I’ve harped on this before but ‘are ya too busy watching Lost or are ya really too busy’. Sorry but it’s true.

I can understand the anti-Madonna sentiment in some ways. She’s an extremely self centered human being. That said, I LOVE her. She’s in a rather undignified phase of her career now but I can get over that. On some level I just get her. Maybe it’s all the Leo and Virgo in both our charts that I relate to (and we’re both Virgo rising, so much of our Leo energy is in the 12th, which makes for an interesting expression I think). I totally disagree that she’s given nothing before her recent charity work w/ Malawi. In the 80s and 90s she was a strong advocate for gay rights and AIDS awareness. Beyond that though, there is such a kick ass, positive inspiring energy bursting out of her in all directions in almost everything she does. (Who can listen to “Express Yourself” and not want to kick down the doors, refuse to take shit from anyone ever again, and take life by the balls? :P And “Ray of Light”? Come on! It makes everyone so happy)

The woman is nothing if not inspiring. Being homeless in NY and fighting like mad to fulfill her dream, ALWAYS trying to better herself. Pioneering, bold, uncompromising, doing what’s thought to be impossible. There’s a reason every girl in America (and other parts of the world) wanted to BE her and you can’t tell me that was just marketing. She instills hope and self confidence by example and that is a pretty amazing gift to give. Except for this last tour, I always leave her concerts ready to conquer the world, wanting to be my absolute best, and determined to never give up. Is her giving selfless? No. It’s still pretty valuable though. I think she’s trying hard to improve in this area and it’s working, slowly but surely. She’s a champ.

Wait, I just realized this thread is almost a year old. Ha!

To be honest I can’t stand Madonna because she’s a bit too egocentric for my taste. Plus, I heard she treated her siblings like shit, especially once she became famous. I can’t stand a bad Leo. Sorry. :(
