Voice Of Jupiter in Sagittarius: College
Astrology in real life
“University of Colorado called me today,” the soldier said.
“Yeah, why?” I asked.
“I contacted them about getting a degree,” he said before elaborating.
“Are you telling me that you are going to go to your 10th and 11th year of college?” I asked. “Is that what you’re telling me?”
“Yeah, maybe,” he said. “I could have done this smarter though…”
Any other perennial students out there? Where is your Jupiter – what’s in your 9th?

Sun and Jupiter conjunct in Libra, 9th house. Depending on which house system you use the rest of my stellium in Libra is in there too.
I haven’t formally enrolled in school since I got my master’s degree in 1993, but I’m always studying something interesting.
Um…I’ve been at the same college since 1996. I’m about halfway through my English degree…my Fine Arts degree…and my…oh, never mind.
Here’s looking forward to my 3rd year…somewhere…anywhere?
I’ve studied English, Sciences, Library Tech, Art History, and now I’m doing Design and Painting in a Fine Arts program.
I’m finally at home. Maybe. ::Smirks:: I do have Saturn transiting my 9th House currently, maybe that’s why I finally feel grounded.
(Jupiter in the 6th opposed Neptune; empty 9th House; Sag ASC).
LOL. Uranus, Pluto, Venus in my 9th, if you look at it with equal houses, with Jupiter on the 8th/9th cusp @ 2 deg. away.
If I won the lottery tomorrow I would get another degree haha.
(I have 2 Master’s and I’ve worked for Universities since 1999.)
Saturn is in my 9th..
It took me a longtime to finish..
My father and my Grandfather were against it
So I think it really is true about Saturn (old Traditions)making a restriction on achieveing something..But I did not give up.
I sent an invite for my college grad to my father.
He did not show up to that..But I knew why..
Women are not supposed to go to college.
Dad “Your a good looking woman what the hell do you need to go to college for. Is it a make up school ?”
Funny, when I competed in Beauty Contest he would drive hours to go to the competition.
When I graduated from college he couldn’t drive 3 blocks away from his own house…
So for me Saturn provided me with the glue and sturcture to plod along and finish college while it Saturn also put in place rules and old taboos to restrict my access
I am now in my… oh… 7th year of college working on a 2nd and 3rd bachelors before I finally decide on some sort of masters. Every time I get here I want to leave. Every time I leave I want to come back. My Jupiter is conjunct Saturn in Libra in the 9th.
Jupiter in 9th, conjunct MC. Been in school my whole life. I’m a professor now, but I still think of myself as more of a student than an authority figure…
Is anyone here NOT highly educated (besides me)? Or are you just not admitting it? LOL
9th house, Gemini Midheaven – appears to be squaring Pluto and my Asc., and trining my sun/moon. I have no idea how to interpret that. Any takers?
Jupiter in the 12th and Saturn-Pluto in the 9th. Took me 10 yrs to get a Bachelors degree and I prefer to learn on my own from books combined with practical application (that’s how i learned astrology).
Now my brother who has Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 3rd has his doctorate in engineering.
Got nothing in my 9th. I absolutely HATE being in school. I got a masters degree and specifically chose a shorter program. I hated my way through it, such a pleasure to do the group projects with. Funny thing is that I became a teacher. I love being on this side of the equation.
Marianne – I gotta tell you there is some serious education around here. About 1/3 of my clients has PhDs and that’s a fact.
Oh, but just realized Pluto going into Cap means it’s now transiting my 9th. Hmmm…
About 1/3 of my clients has PhDs and that’s a fact.
Really? Did you know I do?
This would fly in the face of the common belief that trained scientists are astrology skeptics….
woot!
i’ve almost got a lowly b.a. – i finished the requirments but took me a full 7 years and they changed it on me. i would have had to have another semeseter driving over an hour each way 3 days a week. couldn’t justify it for my own gratification.
so you’re not alone, marianne.
also have an empty 9th. i do well in school, though, when i go. jupiter in the 11th.
Jessica, no I didn’t know but I’m not surprised. It’s been like this a long time… it’s impossible not to notice. Of course I try to figure out what it means…
My viewpoint of astrology attracting educated people is simply that the evidence in favor of it is compelling enough to pursue. On the other side not all PhDs are scientists.
Jupiter in the 9th…I didn’t enjoy higher learning but still feel like I need to be there…one day maybe.
Venus is there too and I have never had a relationship with someone born in my own country.
Erradin – I agree but why me? I am not their peer so that is the puzzle. I think I figured it out or at least I have a theory.
I have my aquarius midheaven and moon in the 9th. My jupiter is in leo in the 2nd house. I have a bachelors in business. Then when I was 28 I went to cosmotology school, lol, against what my parents wanted for me. I can’t see myself at a desk all day I would be bald from pulling my hair out. I am constantly learning and doing self introspection. I practicaly have a library on tons of different topics, astrology, numerology, religions, tarot(tons of different decks), I am a book junkie.
God I love school, esp. college. Leo Jupiter in the 11th, now that I’m checking out the equal houses looks like Gem MC is there and Taurus true node (whatever that even is).
I love that you go from subject to subject every few hours, it’s like a smorgasbord! At the end of the day you’ve been a million places mentally. And then seeing people, and getting food from the various lunch trucks, and all the books in the library, and the cute smart men and flirting with the professors…
I actually was going to teach but stopped at my masters. Can’t stop myself from taking on occassional academic projects, though, that come up through my work. That is definitely a self-esteem thing. I felt that 100% academic wasn’t jazzy enough for me, but it makes me feel like I’m going on all the rides with these kinda obscure esoteric accomplishments.
And what a fun rythmn of the year. Travelling abroad for a semester, doing something different for the summer. Discrete chunks of concentrated experience. Love it!
“Not their peer..”
What??
Let’s not forget, not all educated people are necessarily smart. One thing I NEVER assume is that because someone is educated, he is intelligent, or just because someone hasn’t studied that they are ignorant.
I’ve seen too many examples of both cases.
I became interested in astrology because of the math calculations made using geometry.
And longitude and latitude locations and how all of this correlates perfectly and logically.
My father bought a lot of telescopes and we use to stand on the roof and learn about astronomy.
Being a little girl it was ok to be fascinated with daddies hobbies but when I became a woman
for some reason it was time for me to make sauce and read cookbooks..
The last time I saw my father he gave me a Romba its still sitting in the box..Its like a few years old..My father doesn’t even know what I do for a living. He thinks I am a housekeeper..
I could never tell him I managed 440 people.
He would of called me a ballbreaker, one of those bitchy women and a lot of other nasty names, Is that big time Saturn and old world tradition…LOL
Marianne, you are not alone. I never finished my B.A. I learn things on my own, from books, and listening to people who know what they are talking about. School of life. People think I am a smarty pants.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think I lack intelligence. Clearly this is not the case or I would not be hired! But I do think it is typical people stay in their milieu and there are a lot of very educated astrologers. No, I think they come to me for a specific reason and whatever it is, I do deliver because they come back for the most part and many of them bring others.
pluto in the 9th & getting a phd. jupiter’s in the 7th/8th but conjunct mercury.
Erradin, I agree too. And I mean “scientist” liberally – academics who are trained to critically evaluate evidence in support of/against a theory.
Oh hell yes. It’d be ideal for me if I could go to school for the rest of my life. A few semesters away from my B.A., but I do want to have a PhD someday. I just love to learn; especially religion, history, literature and the such. I have Mars in Cancer in the 9th, and Jupiter in the 11th/12th (depends what chart you’re looking at) in Libra.
{{{reality}}} sorry your dad never really got you. it sounds hurtful, and i do know the experience of feeling like you’re a disappointment to parents; even if you know they’re wrong, it still stings. even after many years.
but you might want to break out that roomba anyway. they do rock.
i have an unnatural level of love for my roomba and my catgenie.
Hey Goddess thanks..I don’t see my father because I am worried about dissappointing him..
He is a big pain..He makes you feel terrible for the fact that he was irresponible.
Its like you want to put a piece of foil to cover up a piece of pie..It works its easy..
My dad is Saran wrap, you know it is really a bad idea, its in the kitchen its there but you avoid it…But for some reason you try to get it out of the box, it sticks to your hand you roll out more it sticks to itself, then you try to use the preferrated edge and it cuts your hand, so you kind of stretch the saran wrap to pull it apart..try rolling out some more and the roll falls on the floor and now your hand is bleeding, you have pieces of shredded Saran Wrap all over your kitchen a ripped up box and you still never covered the piece of pie..
That is spending time with my father…
Jupiter in Capricorn. 9th house has Scorpio, Mars, and Neptune.
I am absolutely a student — I am a perennial “Why? What? How?” questioner of just about everything, and am happiest when I’m mentally engaged and learning. I also tend to be that annoying student who, usually unintentially, breaks the curve because when I want to know about something, I go deep and learn it — I’m not happy just passing a class, I want to excel in the knowledge base.
With school, I have a BA in English, and have recently gone back to be trained as an LPN so I can work as a nurse while pursuing my RN, then my BSN, then a Master’s degree in the field, and I haven’t decided if I want to continue past that yet, but I’m leaning towards yes (where the money is coming from to pay for all this I haven’t decided — but I can dream big, right?) I’ve also noticed that I tend to lose interest in my work when I’ve come to the conclusion that I know everything I need to know in that particular role, which has led to some interesting (not always good, but always educational) career changes over the years.
Jupiter in Sagittarius conjunct midheaven. Dropped out of University because I could not figure out where I was headed and did not like being broke. Started my own business at age 19, married at 20, home owner at 22 and father at age 23. Perpetual Student through life experience, reading and travels, major in finance and minor in metaphysical studies.
Lots of “students”, here.
I have two Sadge planets, Sun/Mercury in 9th, and Moon conjunct Jupiter… and boy do I hate school, period. I seem to be good at most anything I try, though, so I’m not sure it matters.
“I hated my way through it, such a pleasure to do the group projects with”
Hey, I know you! HA HA HA!!!
” Funny thing is that I became a teacher. I love being on this side of the equation.”
And I have a friend like you! Are you an Aquarius dolce? My Aquarius friend is a fantastic teacher…she entertained me daily with how ridiculous she found her studies. Then again she used to watch TV while studying so she “didn’t fall asleep from boredom” and still pulled off A+ grades!
Jupiter conjunct Saturn. I opened a fortune cookie the other day and it said:
“All your successes in life will be earned through earnest efforts.”
…poop
Kashmiri, that’s me… I used to study coked out of my skull; now I substitute with TV and music…
Out of curiosity, what does your friend teach?
Pluto in Libra. 9H Uranus on MC- pluto-took school very seriously- full scholarship. military history undergrad, post-grad. oxford. School was my rock when my family exploded. uranus-as a 10 yr.old kid curled up with ‘linda goodman’ rereading every page then hiding it away so nobody would see it. secret gift from gramma. have always loved astrology. now i love to study astrology, i and love elsas blog.
Jupiter in the 9th house…always a student..studying for the GRE right now to go back for more. And I teach. And if I can’t take college courses, I’m always signed up for some kind of class (like Elsa’s!). Of course, I’ve never really mastered anything, but I know a little about a LOT of stuff.
Elsa I was giving a great deal of thought to education. I think the 9th house is covering the formal type of education. Make no mistake there are people in the world who are educated but what is it ? a piece of fancy paper Thats all it is a piece of paper they give you for paying them money to tell you what book to read ?
Did you ever think about that ?
One of the most controversal things I did according to my Grandfather was applying to electrical engineering school and being accepted.
I did not finish the degree, I ran out of money took a trip to Colorado and discovered astrology around the Saturn/Jupiter Conj in Taurus started to apply my math principals too astrology and economics.
I don’t want an MBA..If I go back to school I will finish my engineering degree..
I know my dad was the catalyist he took us too the bookstore every Sunday to buy a book. He bought me a make your own solar cell kit for my 9th birthday, He taught me about astronomy, He gave me a carborator for fun too take apart and put back together…so really what is the definition from Heather “mastering anything”…
Would I go to an astrologer because they had a piece of paper ? In fact would I use any source of business because they had a piece of paper ?
NO I say NO…
I analyze peoples accomplishments..
remember Eddie Murphy
“I am Gumby Damit” Gumby was gumby
You are an astrologer damit…
enough said…
Rob (“coked out of my skull”, ha ha ha that’s so silly, betcha stayed awake tho, hmmmm?
) my friend teaches gifted children (elementary school age). Her password for the school board’s online system is, funnily enough, “fuck you.” Her kids and parents love the crap out of her…she is a fantastic mother and does it solo, too.
She is an Aquarius with Moon in Scorpio and Sagittarius ASC.
well, i imagine someday i might have a phd, but i need to get rid of some of this debt first
can’t figure if jupiter’s in my ninth or tenth. either way it’s gemini, and conjunct the midheaven, and not touching much of anything else.
academia tends to be a massively ungrounded psychological environment. eerily so. one of the reasons i wanted to leave for awhile.
(mercury’s in the ninth, in taurus, opposing uranus & in aspect to saturn/the ascendant, and chiron might be in there, too.)
Woo so many students. Jupiter in the 9th, planets in Sag. I’ll forever be a student. Im going back to college as well. Even when I’m working, I like enrol in short courses. I would like to teach someday too.
Like many said here I think higher learning can mean many things though…doesnt always have to equate with school or college.
Jupiter in Sag. in the 11th, Uranus in Libra in the 9th along with Pluto, but not conjunct. I love taking classes and learning new things. I will say though that that did not apply to early education or high school. Early ed. and high school were hell for me. Felt like a square peg trying to be forced into a round hole.

LMAO. I’ve got Jupiter in my 9th (in pisces) and will probably be in some form of school for the rest of my life. It’s the focal point of my t-square with the sun and uranus though, so it’s always a challenge and I don’t know if I’ll ever actually complete a degree. But if I’m not in school, I’m trying to figure out how to get there.
