I was on the phone with the soldier:
“Did you hear we are going to have 20,000 soldier patrolling inside the country?”
“What?”
“There are going to be 20,000 soldier mulling around for homeland security. Er… like Israel.”
“Why don’t they put them on the border (Saturn)… defend the border so we can live free (Uranus)?”
“Good question, that’s the way I’d do it. But as it is, this is supposed to be Utopia which apparently requires soldiers all over the place to enforce it.”

I remember visiting New York City three weeks after 9/11, and seeing soldiers with guns scattered throughout Manhattan. Intellectually I accepted that, but in my heart, I was troubled. Our reality is changing. In the article, even an expert is quoted as saying before 9/11, deploying troops this way would have been unthinkable.
It is actually illegal to deploy troops inside our borders but you know. Fuck the law! Change (Uranus) the law (Saturn) so we too can go to the mall under armed guard in the new utopia.
Israel is very weird to see in Person…
I went there…I had some real weird moments..

There are many different we will call all of the buildings worship buildings..Everyone is very protective of there little spot everyone..
Then you have soldiers walking around with semiautomatic in sandles..
The last night I was there, The tavern next to the hotel was having a Doors Festival.
I hear that song This is the End and on my way to the travel bus it got louder until finally it was playing in my head. And then I saw what I saw happen at the airport in the middle of the night with the soldiers..And for some reason I am going down that path of dark here but for some reason I have seen a lot of stuff I should have never seen.
This is the End all the while playing in my head..
Yah soldiers in our streets, I can’t believe it but I do..
I imagine law enforcement is feeling utterly insulted.
i heard about this, and it kinda freaks me out that it’s like the laws we have in place about it (and particularly the reasons behind them) are just being totally ignored.
@Reality – that sounds utterly and totally surreal, like a scene from a movie or something.
Re: law enforcement the situation there is we have no money to pay them. For example if you leave you garage door open and someone steals from you, the police are no longer going to respond because there are not enough of them. It starts there and then more and more services will be cut.
Call the cops and no response (Saturn) How’s that for change! (Uranus)
When I was there A lot of little Palestinian Children were begging for money in the streets..
Most of them were 5 or 6..The guide said don’t give them money they are not hungry..
They give the money to the parents..
I would buy sandwiches everday at the hotel and pack a huge giant bag lunch..Whenever I saw children..I gave them food…They would eat the food right there on the spot..They were so skinny
Soldiers in the street it brings back weird memories..I wish I could have scooped up those little ones and taken them home with me..
Haha “We Have (Not) Met The Enemy, And He Is Us.” This was the kind of weird fear mongering and fighting of an invisible enemy we were used to in the Bush administration.
20,000 isn’t very many to cover the entire usa. I just hope its enough in the event something happens and they are needed unlike Katrina where nothing happened for days. They won’t be on every street corner either.
