Astrology Today… And Tomorrow: Grace, Hardship and Grand Design

November 30th, 2008 @ 7:50 pm by Elsa

My eye on the sky

capricornThere is a lot of reality out there. This Moon, Venus, Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn, all trine Saturn is something else.

Jupiter and Venus are thought to bring benefit in astrology. Though Jupiter is in the sign of its fall in Capricorn it is still Jupiter. The Moon is in detriment in Capricorn but with Venus in this pile and the trine from Saturn, I still get a feeling of the reality being “good for you”.

Er… I don’t mean good, like windfall money but good like ‘discipline”. Maybe you can think of a time or a situation where it was good that you showed restraint. It is definitely a good time to learn, particularly about relationship since Venus is involved. Commitment is good. Effort is good.

On other fronts, the Sun, Mercury and Mars are romping through Sagittarius and so if you have things to do the energy is there even if the task is difficult or daunting.

In other words it could be so much worse you’ve almost got to be grateful for the conditions you’re in and if you ever wanted evidence of their being a grand design, I’s say it would be easy to locate over these next couple days.

Anyone have a difficult time they know is good for them? Tell us

Every difficult time is good for me. I just can’t always see it until I’m on the other side of it.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m out the door at 5am tomorrow, and I like to leave prepared. heh

hum. sigh. This is what I was thinking of just now. You know how people are scared of the Saturn Return? I’m scared of this time and have been pessimistic in that way that I don’t want to believe in it. (partly because I don’t know that much about astrology) This isn’t really happening. Pluto in Sagittarius is here and the world is still big and optimistic. I seem to think that just because “reality” has set in, that means undue calamity and am worried on a daily basis. Oh shit, Moon Pluto, I think. And my parents are coming home on a plane, gulp. But then I think, Pluto in Capricorn deals with each person with their own energies and who am I, someone in their early twenties with some shit that needs tweaking. Optimistic shit like making the most out of my twenties. And this is what my Capricorn friend told me. I mean, “a dose of reality” does not necessarily mean a dose of calamity, right?

It’s really funny to be reading this. Earlier I was thinking about what things may be ahead for me, and of their probable difficulty, and I thought, “Hey, even if it doesn’t go my way and it’s painful, it will make me a better person. In some way or another it will be good for me”

Like Kris said, every difficult time is good for me. I can’t think of something “bad” or “difficult” that’s happened that hasn’t made me grow into a better person.

Jupiter, Venus, Moon transiting my 5th; Sun, Mercury & Mars transiting BF’s 5th. Lots of hammering out expectations; it feels like taking preventive medicine, at least on my end, when I’d rather have champagne.
But we do have a BIG gala to go to in NYC on Wed., so I’ll get some champagne then!
‘Til then , though, I feel like being kinda quiet & lost in my thoughts..

I’m moving house! packing boxes and chucking heaps of stuff out. Truck comes on Friday. Good for me? I hope so. It will be good to get away from a very shitty Landlord.

Yesh, putting time into my relationship is paying dividends- he’s more mature, I’m more mature. He’s trying to be more considerate and I’m trying to be less needy, and it’s working!

What Pluto most means to me is `Truth`, no matter what. I can identify with the idea that we can learn from everything that happens, good or bad.
Can is a probability. During our lifetime we have
to struggle to improve our beings . But, aren`t there some aspects of ourselves, always reapeting
because we always act in the same way ? I have one in particular that troubles me much, but, only when is too late I can recall myself together. What about the ones I`am not even
aware of ?
`It is my nature` . said the Scorpion to the turtle after the latter been bitten to death, while crossing the river.
Even in its last moments the turtle had a lesson to learn . What Pluto tells me is that this isn`t
a matter of living and dying but of Being .

Oh boy, Elsa. You hit the nail on the head. Man. The whole weekend was a disaster in every sense, but … perhaps … a beautiful one? I got to see the vulnerability of my family – their quirks, and shadows, and transitoriness. My boyfriend and I had our first … well, it wasn’t a fight, but a look at something other than our bed of roses … it was all very scary and anxiety-provoking, but I just kept reminding myself that everyone needs love. And that all the mishaps came because of fear. And I tried to just stay grounded, love everyone through it and, in the end, it turned out okay. I strengthened relations with my father and sister, and my boy and I got to see more of each other’s true colors and we’re still sticking around. :)

Dina, I don’t know all that much about astrology either; just what I learn here from reading Elsa’s blog. But I do know it’s very deep and rich and Elsa’s great at putting it in terms we can all understand.

I wouldn’t worry about calamity. Elsa always says, “Energy is neutral until directed,” and if you can trust that the universe takes care of you as you need to … then there’s nothing to worry about.

dina, i very much agree with your friend. in fact, i would go so far as to say a dose of reality can help you _avoid_ a dose of calamity sometimes.

in my personal experience with pluto stuff, the only thing you can really do is let go of whatever’s not working for you. if you don’t fight it, it seems to go down way easier. and by the end, you’re standing in a much more powerful place, unencumbered by that which you’ve outgrown.

Goddess: “Unencumbered by that which you’ve outgrown,” yes, that’s it in a nutshell isn’t it? My son is going through a difficult time right now and I’m going to pass this valuable bit of golden wisdom on to him and see if it helps. Thanks, Goddess!

Thanks also for this topic Elsa, as usual you go right to the heart of things – and yes I have been blessed to be able to say that some very hard experiences I went through were “good for me.” In fact, I think each one that I learned something from was good for me.

Ain’t life a gas?

Yes. I’m currently going through a difficult time.

Only a few weeks ago, I registered for a Makeup Arts class because I’ve felt that I selected my current career for the wrong reasons (mainly for financial stability). I’m going through a war in my head right now – the fight between pursuing what I truly love and risking my financial stability… or staying in this profession and not feel deeply fulfilled.

I’m also going through changes in a personal/spiritual level. Just basically setting my foot down and making decisions for myself, and not base my decisions on what I SHOULD be. Add to that, I have health concerns to address…

So… That’s my struggle of the moment. It’s hard as hell, believe me… I wish I can just sleep the entire weeks/months/years off, but I’m surviving.

yes…
i was so afraid i couldn’t do all this on my own, but i can. there’s still some kinks to work out, but it’s going, and well.

i’m really happy, though the pressure’s been consistently intense for months now. i find i’m growing, immensely, due to it…
