The Moon in Virgo is conjunct Saturn heading into a square aspect with Pluto, on the brink of dropping into Capricorn and to say people are melancholy is an understatement.
Venus and Jupiter are also in Capricorn and simply put, this is waaaaaaaaay too much reality for most.
I will try to create a diversion on this blog and while I’m at it I want to prop up Leo again… some more.
We need entertainment. We need art and that is just all there is to it.
We need people like Dora so that we can have a chuckle in the middle of all this. If you can make someone laugh today, by God you should.

Faith is a standard poodle who came to me two years ago Christmas. I was working at a groom shop on December 23rd when an old groomer friend (my gay boyfriend you may remember Elsa) called me up to tell me about one of his employees who had fallen on hard times and needed to place her two year old white standard poodle. Did I want her? My answer was YES!!! When can I pick her up?
See I had lost a fantastic poodle the summer before to age and poor health. I’d only had her a year. Everyone knew about her because of my habit of making her bright pink. People tend to take notice of a dog who looks like a carnival prize walking around.
So Faith came to live with me. She was a puppy mill rescue who missed critical socialization during her first six months and never fully recovered. She came a long way while I had her but she never really loved being the star of my very chaotic show. She didn’t care to be strange colors and walk around in parades. Never mind that she was a local celebrity in the paper no less.
I’ve been considering finding a quieter home for her for a while and once the last two strays showed up they put us over the top in dog numbers. I posted ads on Craigslist and have been carefully screening potential homes for a couple of months now. The most amazing people came to visit her Sunday and took her home yesterday. I’ve had numerous updates about how she’s doing including pictures of her relaxing in her new home. Hooray for successful adoption stories!

Dogs are funny. We have an overweight couch potato dog that ‘pushes air’ all the time. And that cracks us up. Dogs rule. Everybody should have one. Great picture!

… she really does look so much healthier and generally all-’round better than she used to… haha… and she looks like she’s having a good time showing off her new duds.

Laughing is basically as important to me as sex. I love to make people laugh and I love it when people make me laugh — in fact, I’ve decided that being able to make me laugh is as important to me in a partner as sexual chemistry. (My Jupiter just barely made it into Leo at 0 degrees 01′ and is trine my Moon and my Chiron.)
Anyway, because I simply cannot resist any invitation to make people laugh, I’ll pass along the following video. My hound just got his new coats in the mail. He looks soooooooooo handsome in the knit green, and I think he enjoys wearing his new threads as much as Dora seems to enjoy wearing here. Look at that little sleepy face!
I’m off to fundraise for my animal rescue charity all weekend. Thanks to all of you who rescue! I think it may be tough going for our friends when Pluto hits Capricorn.

I have a rescue cat that is very, very needy (as in yowl-y and gabby) but extremely loving and affectionate and wouldn’t scratch me even if I hang her upside down and have aggressive kitty-wrestling with her… which I do because she needs as well as loves being man-handled.

Yes, they are each other’s reason for living. Seriously they are both old as hell but having each other has infused them other’s life ala “I’m not dying and letting her have all this,” and vice versa. They play dog / love games all the time, it’s hysterical.
Dora had a costume change this morning for the colder weather. She looks like a girl Sherlock Holmes. Her cape has pearl buttons.
