She’s Just So Cool…

Astrology in real life

dora-90-degrees.jpgRemember how I told you the soldier’s mother got Dora new tags with this address before she put her on a plane? That kind of thoughtfulness is not just rare, it’s in it’s own class.

Today I got a box addressed to Dora Dog in care of me. Inside were Dora’s winter outfits… leopard spots no less. Also included was her leash and some medication but catch the subtlety here. She addressed the box to me.

It implies acceptance, recognition and support of this relationship and I can tell you I have known my share of men in my life and she is the only mother of any of them that has ever treated me with respect and kindness. Can you believe that? And I am a family oriented type. I am respectful by nature AND nurture but this has never meant a thing.

These women have gone right for the throat across the board and my response to this experience has been to make a commitment to never ever treat my son’s girlfriend or wife with anything but respect. They will be getting a kick ass mother in law, I’ll tell you that right now and I offer this on my blog so that if you are similarly inclined… take a lesson from the soldier’s mother. Because she’s like this now, she was like this 30 years ago and it has nothing to do with me. She has been accepting and supportive of all his women so I guess that just makes her a good person, huh?

And as to you women who chew up your son’s girlfriends and wives, try to keep custody of your sons – shame on you.

The next pics will have Dora clothed. It is getting cold here but I wanted you see her her 90 degree body pose, one of many in her repertoire.

Dora reminds me of dancing snoopy.

My husband and I both have Virgo. We have 3 dogs he’s brought home from the side of the road haha. And a bunch of cats. We’re nuts.

Glad Dora is getting a warm wardrobe. Do you have snow yet?

What your mother-in-law did for you and the kindness she put into it brings tears to my eyes tonight. Just so sweet and so kind and probably very humble woman, you are blessed.

My hound is waiting for his mail to come also, I caught him shivering and his little teeth were practically chattering i was so upset to see the little dude cold. He was born in Florida and always lived there, so now he is getting accustomed to N. Arizona and it’s not even really cold here yet.

Can’t wait to see the photos of Dora and her name is pefect is is some link to A-Dora-ble? She’s blessed too, by the way, I can tell you are good to her, very devoted family she has.

I had to visit my boyfriend on Saturday so now I am 125 miles away from I guess you would call it my home. Its the place I pay a mortgage payment on. My cat is 16 years old. He is staying with my mom for the last few days. He is very accustomed to travel. Gosh knows my life has been anything but stable. My mother callled me today to let me know she called his vet about his lethargicness. This cat has a heart murmer and he had a stroke in the spring. The vet told me it is only a matter of time. I brought him to my moms because he likes to be around other animals
and I did not want to cart him into the car.
Your dog looks like my mothers snowflake (cat)
Who used to be mine, my mother became very attached to snow and vice versa. I want to blame pluto for Littlemans deteriating health. He was born with a heart murmer and the vet told me my loving care is what has allowed him to live this long. I fear the worse. I will be back Tuesday night to pick kitty up. I am taking my friend for his last test before chemo starts and my 101 year old aunt to the doctor. I am surrounded by death.
Or future death. I hate pluto

I love all the boys and girlfriend both my kids bring home. They end up as friends to the family. In fact, this goes for their friends too. I love them all. The ones I may find questionable, well, I do not say a thing. They drop off. It has always been like that.
I cannot wait to see Miss Dora in leopard print. Cannot wait! She is going to be the finest dressed pooch in all of the town.

YAY! I love this affirmation Elsa, and I thank you for it on behalf of any of Vid’s future mates. :)

My ex had 5 boys in his family and one of my favorite memories of that time was when all 5 girlfriends had a pow-wow to decide who their Mother hated the most.

Favorite time only because we all had felt completely alienated and depressed until that point.

(PS. We all agreed with the youngest gal, only because as the “thief” of the last son she really was treated meanly. The rest of us were treated simply as though we didn’t exist).

Holy wow. Love Dora. I so want a dog. The SO thinks that our yard is too small to allow a dog a good life – and it doesn’t help that it’s being taken over by my garden!

Congratulations to you that you’re with a man/family that treats you well. It’s a good thing to see in this world!

I don’t understand what makes women act like that, either. I don’t have this problem with my MIL, but I have it with SILs.

I have three on my DH’s side. Two of them have been horrible to me since Day One, practically. They’re jealous and downright mean. It’s sickening. They won’t make good MILs, that’s for sure.

Plus, one of them has made her son so dependent on her, I don’t know if she’ll ever HAVE a DIL. She turned the kid into an oversheltered snitch. It’s really awful to witness this stuff and not be able to do a thing about it.

I hope I’ll be a good MIL. That’s a long way off, since my son isn’t even nine yet, but I don’t have anything bad to say about anyone unless they mess with me. I’m very easygoing, and even though I have a hot temper, it takes a lot to set me off.

I think some women subconsciously transfer a lot of their unmet romantic needs to their sons. When someone as self-aware as Elsa comes along, it’s threatening to them but they probably can’t articulate why, they just react and reject.

I don’t think men do this as much with their daughters – they just disconnect in general.

PS: Dora slays me.

Good point Togi. I have seen women do this, it is frightening.

That is such a cute picture. Looks like maybe she’s workin’ a chewbone. or maybe her nose itches.

My mom has been a great example of this…she automatically loves any girl that loves her baby boy and treats them like one of the family from the first time she meets them.
