Healthy Egos In Court Today – Thank God

apollo.jpg“As bad as this is for me and as bad as it’s been, it would be a lot worse if you two weren’t the way you are. I appreciate it,” I said to the two gals who represent against me in court. “Thank you because I can just imagine how much worse this could be.”

Ain’t that a trip?

But here’s the takeaway part: Some people are kind and some people notice and are grateful. And it occurs to me to reference a couple of the discussions over this last week.

One, these women would not be kind if they did not have healthy egos. They would bully me, yes? Because they sure as hell could.

So this is just another example and argument my Venus in Leo (love of the ego) wants to put forth. The Sun (in any sign) is meant to shine. And if it’s not you better watch your back, that’s all I can say.

Do you have an ego?

I’d like to say no, but I think everyone has one to some degree. Also, it’s hard to see yourself as others see you, so maybe I should ask someone who knows me. I must have one, but I think it’s probably very small. I hope.

I don’t totally know what to make of this, but I am very glad to read that your opposing counsel is kind. I think that is both a total stroke of luck (which you deserve) but also a gift of yours to see them that way.

Yes, but I think we all do. As to whether it’s a good thing? It’s just whether or not it’s acknowledged, looked at with both eyes, held, nurtured, healed, coached, cheered on and exuded in the best light. When you don’t…. damage is bound to happen… it’s either wasting away of talents (self-damage). Or attacking another person’s energy. *shiver*

So, I’m glad they had healthy egos too and didn’t need to take a kind soul down!

I know I couldn’t do what I do professionally without an “ego.” But as I study my Saturn in Capricorn. 4th house, I think this more than anything keeps everything in check. As stern as Saturn is, I have come to appreciate seeing my excesses through Saturn’s eyes.. or maybe it’s Capricorn’s eyes. Whichever.. I need to shine, for sure, but never at the expense of another.

By ego, do you mean self-confidence, self-regard?

lol, alright, EEEEEGO :)

“these women would not be kind if they did not have healthy egos. They would bully me, yes? Because they sure as hell could.” What was it about them that conveyed this healthy ego?

“What was it about them that conveyed this healthy ego?”

The fact they can allow me mine.

That makes perfect sense. A person with a healthy ego is balanced: they can shine and let other people shine too. They can accept their own power and respect the power of others.

Elsa, you helped a light bulb turn on in my head today. It’s not a misunderstanding or a repeated accident. Somebody’s willfully trying to rob my ego, taking my self/identity/energy and calling it theirs. I gotta get my shine back, get myself a healthy EEEEGO! You are absolutely right – it is NOT a dirty word, it’s my right. I’m entitled to have an ego.

you know, it always amazed me the number of new age books i read that use the word ego to equate with (inappropriate) selfishness. that doesn’t make sense to me. we’re here, in these physical bodies, living these physical lives, with our thoughts and opinions and a sense of self. and having a strong, grounded sense of self, to me meaning a healthy ego, can’t help but make your journey and your interactions with others better.
