Tricks Of The Neptune Type Under The Pisces Moon

Astrology in real life

spy vs spyI’d be the first to tell you that I am inordinately easy to trick and it happens all the time. It happens on this blog from time to time. Everything that happens in my real life happens on this blog as well so I can give you an example…

Every once in awhile someone comes along and engages me in some way. Perhaps via the comments but generally they contact me via email as well, at least more sophisticated ones do. Who knows what their motive is other than they wish to infiltrate and if ten try at least one of them is liable to have some sort of success and so this is what happens. Contact is made and some sort of relationship is formed.

Now I don’t think about things like this much. People come and go in my life all the time and with a 7th house Uranus, I let them. But what happens is one way or the other I find out what is going on and how I manage to do this varies. It is never because I am looking, I just realize what the hell is going on and invariably I call satori…

“You’ll never guess! Remember that person I told you about? He/She has been mailing me? Well turns out they are also, blah, blah, blah and blah…” all these id that people use to comment here. And it’s funny because the person will go way back. For example, I had one woman able to trick me like this for 5 or 6 years and frankly if she decided to do it again, she’d be able to. And here’s the thing:

You think I’d be embarrassed or something but I just have this other reaction. Rather than feeling tricked, I feel tricky myself because at some point I know, but do you think I tell them? Hell no.

Spy vs Spy, it’s my favorite game.

Do you infiltrate or get infiltrated? Why?

i take people at face value until they give me reason not to. …sometimes that happens real fast. but i think it’s a measure of respect ot at least give the ebenfit of the doubt.

which means i’ve been taken in once or twice. but i also figure i can deal with it.

you suspect no one initially; I suspect everyone initially (scorpio mars). neither of us has an advantage. most people think their way is right but they’re all about 50-50. whatever is your way is about as effective as any other.

I think nike was spot on with their ad campaign, just do it.
I also think it can be applied to astrology by mixing it up:

cardinal– just do it
fixed– do it just
mutable– it just do

whatever is your way works for you.

I tend to be very gullible, but you know what – I don’t worry about it anymore.

I figure if someone really wants to find a way to trick you – they will.

As long as you can keep a fairly straight face, and make it at least somewhat plausible, someone will believe you. It’s all in the delivery, right? I just try to stay at least somewhat suspicious.

I could tell you stories of the ways I’ve been sucked in…..

:::shakes head:::

You know those gossipy websites? They usually pertain to an industry (journalism, hospitality, secretarial, etc.) I used to read a couple of them that pertained to the field I work in, until it pained me to do so. After a while I began to wonder if the same few people wrote in under different monikers.. playing both sides… lobbing all sorts of inuendo, then taking it back if others ganged up.. that sort of thing. I have a Scorpio Moon and just decided it wasn’t worth guessing what the hell was going on!

satori lol! Remarks like that are what makes you the cool kid :) .

What do you mean by infiltrate, Elsa? Were they trying to get you to do something (manipulating you) or get information out of you?

“I have a Scorpio Moon and just decided it wasn’t worth guessing what the hell was going on!”

maureen, I feel similar. I just deal with everyone head on and then on occasion something like this occurs and I observe it just like everything else.

Dina – Yeah, stuff like that. There are basically 3 MO’s, the two you mentioned and then some try to get you in close and when they do, they beat the shit out of you. I think it’s funny as hell.

That may sound improbable but it’s true. I am from odd stock.

I used to suspect people all the time, but not so much anymore. It just takes too much energy and you still get tricked. Like Snapdragon said “if someone really wants to find a way to trick you – they will.”

It sucks though when the motivation is sinister. You’d think people who do this stuff do it out of boredom or for a laugh, but not so.

Satori that’s effen funny!!!

I’m pretty sure I infiltrate, though I’m aware of people’s privacy and try hard to allow people space to be themselves.
I mention this because the word infiltrate automatically makes me think of over-stepping your boundaries.
I’m capable of picking up very subtle clues from people: meaning, they don’t mean to drop them (or, they do) and I’m good at registering them. That makes me feel like an infiltrator.

I’m not entirely suspicious…I guess this makes an unsuspecting spy?

I’m gullible and I’ll admit it. *smiles* I grew up with a suspicious mom who was almost always wrong and it drives her nuts — she can’t let something lie, everyone must have an ulterior motive, nothing is straight-forward. I saw how miserable she was and I didn’t/don’t want to live that way; I like to shoot from the hip and assume everyone else does, too, because it makes my life easier. ;)

Sometimes I don’t trust people I should, and do trust people I shouldn’t. I just am so mixed up with all of that. In a way, I just can’t worry about it, because I know I’ll never get it straight.

Somehow lots of people think I’m gullible. The funny thing is that I’m not. I say “yes, uh huh, uh huh” and thank them for their input and then keep on going the way I want to go. That is unless their input really makes sense or is a different angle than I already thought through. And even then stubbornness might very well keep me on my choosen path.

The problem happens when I say something – then they’re all shocked that I’m not gullible. It’s an image versus reality problem.

Am I suspicious – no. Not unless my gut is jumping up and down complaining about someone. THEN I am suspicious. But only when my gut complains about something other than the spices on my food ;)

Mudlike, I like the way you put it. I feel similarly.
Maybe “gullible” was the wrong word to use, because I have to say I generally know when people are trying to finesse me. I just don’t care! For the most part the attempts are so clumsy it’s funny (or kinda insulting if you consider that they expect you to fall for it).
But unless they’re messing with something truly important to me, I leave it alone. If it’s not worth fighting about, it’s not worth pointing out.

A good example is a friend of mine who recently tried some pretty heavy-handed finagling. Her efforts were quite transparent to me, but it was a situation that I had no investment in so I let her steer it. She was happy because she got the outcome she wanted, I was happy because the matter got dropped and we could move on to other things. Win-win.

I do not infiltrate. I’d say I don’t get infiltrated either, but I’m generally so oblivious to that kind of thing that I probably wouldn’t notice if I did.

I guess it’s interesting for anyone who is very much into psychology and astrology, sociology of blogs, etc. Merely study and observe. Its also interesting if you have the chart.

I think its such a strange thing to do that i would never anticipate it in advance. I can’t fathom how it would entertain anyone to do that kind of stuff, or make them happy, so I am naive.

I do have one question though Elsa, the people who do this, do you think it is always intentional or even subconsciously intentional? Say like, they engage you in some kind of debate, and then they present an argument which is so strong that, even if it might have some valid points, it just serves to make you upset or angry because it is so counter to what you believe to be true or right. Would you call that tricking you?

I don’t know, I might just call that agree to disagree and then bow out instantly.

“Spy vs. Spy” Lately, it seems like everyone is playing this game. It’s easy to tell some people have serious spy skills and can infiltrate like a pro, others are clumsier and more obvious…and it sure is fun to watch all the strategizing underneath it all. It’s a chess match these days!

I love that pic by the way :)

Ana the pic is from Mad magazine… that was an old cartoon, perhaps it’s defunct now? In whatever case, I love that stuff with my criminal mind and all!

There is that song by Aimee Mann on “Magnolia” that the refrain goes “It is not going to stop till you wise up”. It took me years to wise up. I am not a smart-A. By that – I mean that I have gotten to where I can read people and usually understand their motives, maybe I am a bit cynical but everyone is motivated by something. I avoid people who I think are coming from a not so good place. This is impossible to do online – as you can only see what you are shown – not the whole person. all the best KT

Satori, I liked what you wrote. I am Fixed and Mutable and those really seem like they fit – especially the Fixed one.

Elsa, I remember that comic – I always like that picture :o )

Mad Magazine is not defunct. I’ve been reading it for almost 50 years. All of my serious higher education came from Mad. “What me worry”? It was great to see it on this blog. Thanks

Ok! Mad magazine is around but Spy magazine (my ex-guilty pleasure) did quit publishing. Ugh, I hated that!

I tend more towards infiltration than being infiltrated.

kashmiri- ‘I am capable of picking up subtle clues’ Me too most of the time, but [Libra]sometimes things do not dawn on me until afterwards.

mudlikesubstance- sometimes it is a good thing to maintain an outward appearance of being gullible. You can find out a lot about people that way.

SaDiablo- Perhaps it is good to keep the stakes low when you are investing in other peoples stuff.

Kathryn- I was conned a few times when I was younger because I had this naive belief that people were generally good and not out to manipulate or take advantage of you. I am more perceptive and realistic now. I have not lost my optimistic view that ‘many persons strive for high ideals; and everwhere life is full of heroism.’

As Stuart Wilde said, ‘Call everyone’s bluff and when you get really good at it, call your own.’

Snapdragon- I still can’t believe you made a mistake. Still, you are perfect just the way you are.

You got that right ;) I think Pisces/Neptune energy excels at this. In fact, it’s the ultimate cover.

I infiltrate and I get infiltrated. I think it is the true desire to know and be known mixed with an intense apprehension of letting down my guard. The internet is both terrible and wonderful because of this. Terrible because it makes creating a mask very easy and wonderful because the mask, though false, allows for an unfettered expression of my true self with only some details changed to protect myself from foibles of true intimacy.

Ana- Or as Maxwell Smart use to say, ‘Missed it by that much’ but no matter how much he actually missed it by, it always worked out.

I let a guy short-change me at a carnival (a couple bucks) because I wanted to see how he did it and what he said while he went through the whole thing.

I’m sure he thought I had no idea.

Spinner – haha, Agent 86 was the best ‘inept’ spy ever. James Bond can’t compare to his bumbling perfection ;)

Funny how people let their guard down when they think someone’s gullible…and then they reveal themselves in detail. False ignorance/incompetence in action is quite amusing to observe :)

Ana — yep I thought it was hilarious. He was very good – I just had a feeling about him so I paid to play the stupid game & watched what he did during the transaction. Lotsa eye contact [don't look at the hands] and charm.
