“Well, hang on a minute. When I was 28 I knew about astrology and I knew about Saturn returns. I believed at the time that what “Saturn” meant was that you had to grow up and be responsible, and what I did was, I went back to graduate school, got serious about being a grownup and a parent and spent the next 15 years trying as hard as I could to make something out of my life and being as responsible as I could to my husband, my mother, my brother, my child, the mortgage and society.

“Hi Elsa- The shoes that fate wore when he knocked me to the ground and ran over my back during my Saturn return were more like football shoes with spikes. It might have helped if I was not standing on the thirty yard line yelling threats at my opponent. Any way the scars healed in a few years and I learned a lot of things about myself and life.
More to your point… I think? I thought that I was a very mature young man, but it didn’t matter, I was blind sided by a steamroller. Is that what you are talking about?”

The Moon clears Uranus and eventually leaves Pisces for Aries which should be pronounced relief. This, because Aries gets on well with Leo and Gemini.
The Sun and Venus are also moving out from under the thumb of Saturn which means it is all gain and no loss when compared to the prior few days.

“Okay, I see this about the point of maturity. I’ve seen that happen. I’m not sure what I think though about the idea that what you do at your Saturn return is a “mistake”. It’s just a choice culminating at the end of your childhood, made with the best of intentions based on what you know. Which, at 28, isn’t that much.”
eva, thanks for your comments, you are helping me get this out.

eva writes on Fatalistic Statement Regarding The Saturn Return
“Elsa, I see your point. But take your example — the boy who lives at home with his mom. You can’t doom him and say well, because you did this your life is a complete waste, and the only happiness you have a chance of getting for yourself is going to come when you’re close to dead…”
read the rest of the comment…
eva, I don’t mean to doom him. I just think there is a point of maturity and once you go beyond it you don’t get any taller… until Saturn comes around again. Life is kind that way. You get a second chance and I have seen many, many people take the second chance and run with it further than they ever dreamed possible. Case in point, the soldier and I.
A person’s ability (or inability) to do this is contingent on what they did (or did not learn) over the prior 28 years. The humble learn, the arrogant fall if for no other reason then they become aged. The people who fare well when “close to dead” are those who have matured and developed. The others?
Well they are scared to death of course.
See the lesson?
Face your fear or… um…face your fear.
Mercury in Aries vs Mercury in Libra With Mars Involved: Death Order And Libra Fairness Of It All
Astrology in real life
“You don’t think you’ll last 20 years? Oh for Godsakes!” I told the soldier. “Is that right? Is that fair? I think that’s crap.”
“Now, P, you know women live longer than men do.”
“Well what am I going to dooooo? What. Will. I. Do? How am I supposed to handle that? Why don’t I die and you handle it?”
“No! P, don’t worry you are going to be fine.”
I looked at him in disbelief. He likes to talk about when he has his legs amputated too.
“It’s not the nicest thing to do,” I said. (See the Libra?) “Come all the way here and then die on me. I’d even call that bastardly,” I said. “Are you a bastard?”
“No. No I am not a bastard. I am just dying first is all.”
I stared at him feeling grateful for the conversation because if he knows something I figure I need the heads up. “You’re dying.”
“Not today, I don’t think. P, don’t be morbid. Would you just not be so morbid?”
::smirk::
Are you morbid? What is your Scorpio, Pluto, 8th house situation?
Capricorn, Janis Joplin – “Get It While You Can”
Outtakes and various other sundries
I mentioned in the Gemini dating story, someone told me to, “get it while you can”. That someone was Janis Joplin, one of my favorite Capricorns ever, along with Henry and LB Meredith. The soldier and I were watching this a few nights ago.
“We may not be here tomorrow,” she sang out with great heart and passion.
“She was prescient,” he said. I could only nod.
Tell you one thing though. I heard this song when I was about 13 and I took this Capricorn very, very seriously…
Janis – circa 1970 – Enjoy!
Is there a song that impacted you like this?
Elaborating Around My Fatalistic Statement Regarding The Saturn Return
Commenting on the comments
In response to the comments on the Saturn return video, I am probably being misunderstood. I sound too fatalistic and I am not sure how to communicate my feelings about this. Though I have been saying this for 15 years and wholly believe it, in the past when I have made the statement it was in relation to a specific person with a specific situation. I sound like this:
“Look. I would not expect anything more from this person at this time. They had their chance, the boat was there, they did not get on it at that time and the boat won’t be back until…”
This does not mean the person does not have a life. It does mean that failing to grow up retards you… Period.
If you want an example, consider the man who lives with his Mom beyond his Saturn return. Is he all the sudden going to move out when he is 33? No. I’ve never seen it, not even once. If he does move, it is to be with another mother figure and then right back to Mom in very short order. When does he get a chance to separate?
Most likely when she dies… making him about 57.
