The Limitations Of Astrology Redux: Do Not Be Deceived – Free Will Trumps The Astrologer Every Time
Astrology in real life
Recently I had a client who told me another astrologer told her that some particular guy was going to marry her. Now I am sure this sounded good to this gal at the time but what the hell! How in the world would some astrologer know what this guy was going to so, hmm? Don’t people have free will?
I thought this was outrageous even though I know it’s common. It is called “I don’t know what I am doing but they seem to want to hear this, so that’s what I will tell them.” ::rolls eyes:: God help you if you hire someone like that. Get this loud and clear:
Astrologers do not know what some random guy who lives down the block is going to do. We don’t know what some gal in Venezuela is going to do or even what out own mother is going to do and if you want to check this, just use your head.
How does the astrologer know what the guy is going to do when the guy himself doesn’t even know what he is going to do? Does that make any sense?
And even if the guy does know what he is going to do, this does not stop the universe from hitting his car with a train, so maybe he doesn’t know as much as he thought he did!
Astrologers can help you. They can help you TREMENDOUSLY but they cannot, absolutely cannot tell you what decision some random guy or gal is going to make and if they say they can, this would be your cue to run for you life.

I knew very little about astrology before I found this. But my very newbie understanding is that you have energy going on in the sky and you can be aware of it, along with your own energy (or that of someone else’s). . .
I learned so much about myself and about the obstacles in my life, which allowed me more opportunity to find ways to overcome them.
I don’t know if this is true of all astrologers, but talking to Elsa, I also learned how to love and be a better person. Truly.
So it’s a shame the ones who want fortune tellers (although I of course sometimes do!) but with astrology such a rich science . . . you’re missing out on so much more.
Tarot works the same for me. Anyone that tries to say they can predict their way around free will is a fake. Except maybe that Nostradamus guy. But the rest of us have to defer to free will in my opinion.
I had one client a long time ago call me up.
“What do you think just happen?!!!!”
Her boyfriend had dumped her.
It was a challenge, like I should have predicted that this would have happened.
Never heard from her again, thank gawd.
The free will of a guy blew up in my face not too long ago, whom I for two long years of insanely passionate yearning thought was my soulmate (hah). We have practically everything in common, the synastry is divine, and even synchronicity worked in favor of us coming together. But he was having none of it! My guess is that he needs someone more different from himself – and younger. In the end, I can only laugh (even if that laughter admittedly is hollow). Lesson learned…
There are so many examples of this, not just having to do with astrology, but anything that hasn’t really been embraced by the mainstream of culture.
I really don’t know how people can really believe that they know so much. I think it’s called ‘assumptions’.
yup.
but people think statistics can predict what will happen, too
Beth… that is patently ridiculous. (And pretty funny!)

One of my favorites so far. I have to say I hold back telling people I practice astrology for this reason. People think you can tell their fortune blah blah and I hate having to explain myself or the fact they in end theres free will, thats if they’re already not looking at me weird like Im a kook or nutter.
Funny enough when my sister says she practices astrology she doesnt get as many weird looks or skeptics trying to debate her like I do.
