Open Question: Are People’s Manners Improving With Pluto In Capricorn?

Elsa, do you think Pluto in Capricorn will bring about a revolution in manners? I’m so sick of rude people…but I have noticed as of late that I’m getting more kindness from strangers and that sustains me, believe me!

Or am I just less of an asshole? Heh.

Dear Niceness,

I don’t think so. I don’t associate manners with Capricorn or revolution with Pluto for that matter. Revolution = Uranus and Manners are Libra ruled. Capricorn wants to “do the right thing” but this is an issue of integrity which has nothing to do with being pleasant.

As far as Capricorn is concerned the “right thing” might be to cut your head off… or better yet, cut you off at the knees so based on this, I would say you were just being less of an asshole. ::smiles::

Manners are not improving in NYC. I don’t know about elsewhere.

Well, I’d say people are getting REAL because a carton of eggs is close to 3 dollars and their homes are in foreclosure. Perhaps this reality check is making them a little softer around the edges but hardly constitutes manners.

This has nothing to do with manners, and, Elsa, you are right about Capricorn wanting to “cut you off at the knees”. This way one will perpetually be in the position of kneeling before power…no?

I’ve seen a recent rash of acts of kindness over the last few months. In traffic, in stores, on the street, everywhere. Maybe I’m just more open to seeing it all now, but people seem to be genuinely nicer. Or all the meanies are staying home. Or maybe it’s a case of what you give is what you get, because I know that I’ve been considerable nicer lately, too. So maybe the whole smile exchange thing?

I haven’t noticed an increase in manners. There’s usually a veneer of them around here anyway (the South).

I think Capricorn is often less about doing the right thing than the “respectable” thing which then gets defined by one’s peers or ambitions and varies from cap to cap accordingly. Conformity is often valued most. I guess that could play into manners, depending.

I do believe that Capricorns can evolve to a place where it is about doing what they believe is right, even if it means going against the grain, many of my heroes have been such Capricorns.
