Mercury Rx And Mars Direct by Jacqueline Bigar

Outtakes and various other sundries…

mars attacksJacqueline Bigar (whom I love) posted a blog yesterday: Mars Retro: how did it impact you?

Jacquie writes

“…This week should be interesting as we have Mercury going Retrograde Monday, probably testing the quality of new communications styles, and pointing to additionally yet more effective styles. I see a lot of talking about what was taboo months ago. Mars will go direct Wednesday. I am wondering how these two forces will intertwine…”

She wonders how the Mars Rx period has impacted people’s lives, I have laid low the whole time. This is something I learned to do the the hard way in 1994 during Mars retro in Leo – see? So bad, I still remember.

I have seen a lot of people around me also maintain themselves but I have seen some assert themselves aggressively… wave their gun around, fire off shots, issue challenges and so forth and I wonder just how regretful they are going to be three months from now.

Check out Jacquie’s blog, A day in an astrologer’s life. You don’t have to hang around her long to find she is touched.

Virgo Wife, Battered And Cheated On, Worries About Signing Lease With Mercury Retrograde: Astrology-Based Advice

January 28th, 2008 @ 4:45 am by Elsa

Hi, Elsa,

I found out my abusive Aquarian husband was cheating on me on Xmas day. I was already prepared to leave him for all of the horrendous physical, emotional, financial abuses he’s heaped upon me throughout our relationship, but this other woman really threw me for a loop. To my knowledge, he’s had over 40 extramarital relationships in less than 5 years with me. We have no sex life whatsoever, and he always blamed me for that. I tried therapy with him, but he was never sincere and each session became an attack on me – and I was paying for it!

Unfortunately, we work for the same organization and the other woman is in his building. She is married with kids. I feel totally humiliated by his flagrant affairs all over the neighborhood where we live and the company where we work. It feels so debilitating to face this every day.

So, I’ve decided to get out. I’ve found an attorney and a place for me and my children to live. But here’s the problem: Mercury turns retrograde next week and I have to sign the lease and move in the middle of it. I already put down a deposit and filled out an application, contacted the mover, etc. I have to get out of here. This man is dangerous. He has assaulted me severely and is a pathological liar. Will I encounter difficulties signing the lease and moving during the retrograde? The intention has been there for weeks. Also, I keep fixating on why he wants this other woman and not me. I am an attractive woman, vibrant, intelligent, respected professionally, yet he’s never been there for me at all.

Is this a real relationship with her or another con? And how do I stop obsessing about him and get over all the pain and humiliation?

Beleaguered Battered Wife
United States

VirgoDear Wife,

I would not worry about Mercury retrograde. Sign the lease and get the hell out. Some things trump other things and this is a case of that.

If you want some more astrology for reassurance, there is a sweet little thing called a Jupiter Saturn trine aspecting your Mars and you should have no doubt you are doing the right thing and will be supported by the universe. Your other challenges are also paper tigers, let’s get real (Saturn) about what is true (Jupiter).

A man who assaults women and has an affair a month does not meet some gal at work and transform into Mr. Wonderful. You know who and what he is and she will find out I’m sure. The guy sounds like a sociopath to me and it is not uncommon they be charming.

As for why he wants this other woman, he does not want this other woman, are your kidding? He wants to meet people, mess with them, ruin their lives. and move along. She doesn’t know this yet but you do.

Keep your head, keep your focus. You have your evidence, Virgo – now get out, get out, get out.

Good luck.

Sun Conjunct Saturn @ 8 Years Old – 2000 Piece Puzzle – Just The Facts

January 27th, 2008 @ 7:42 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

2000 piece puzzleThis is our progress after a weekend off. I think I am pretty good at puzzlin’ but I realized last week my son is better at it than I am. Not going to be better, he is already better. He’s just has this knack and I wondered if he knew it. Tonight I decided to tell him on the chance he didn’t know.

“You’re very good at this. Better than me, I’d say.”

“Uh huh.”

I laughed. “You can tell?”

“Yeah. Um, I’m sorry Mom. I didn’t mean that, I don’t know what I was thinking.”

“You’re thinking fine. You have a knack for this, that is just all there is to it and it makes me happy.”

Is That A Capricorn Trait? Well, No. Something Much More Deadly – Libra!

January 27th, 2008 @ 4:39 pm by Elsa

Commenting on the comments

venus nudes libra artI talked about not letting people rush your game in regards to playing cards on the Mercury Retrograde video. Alma asked:

“Would you say that not letting anyone rush your game is a Capricorn trait?”

Alma, I don’t think so. Being 8 and 9 and 10 years old and wanting to play cards with adult men in the first place is a Capricorn trait. I was ambitious.

Strategy of this type would be a function of my Mars Mercury conjunction in Libra. I want to win, see? MARS. Mars always wants to win, so Mercury is going to figure out how and since Libra is a Cardinal sign, we are talking control. I am going to control (Libra) the speed of the game (Mercury) so I can win (Mars).

And I’d do it in a Libra way. I’d go into hostess mode or something.

“Say. “Did everyone get some cake?” ::big pleasant smile:: “I got the recipe from Tammy, she lives down the street. Do any of you know, Tammy? She’s married to Fred…”

::blink blink with the eyes:: while I think. Maybe drop a shoulder. You know. Venus for Godsakes! Veeee-ness!

And then when I’ve decided what card to play, I’d toss it into the pile with one more superficial comment about the weather and a few minutes later I am raking in the pot.

Anyone else with Libra care to cop to stuff like this?

Mercury goes retrograde on Monday. It is an especially interesting period for Virgo, Gemini and other Mercury-ruled things. Here’s a tip from the goat.

Top 10 Sources Of Astrology News – It’s Working!

January 27th, 2008 @ 12:05 pm by Elsa

Outtakes and various other sundries…

Most of you know I edit the Top 10 Sources Of Astrology News. Since Saturn went into Virgo, I have taken the job more seriously. I spend more time looking for content and editing what is there. I take one step which leads to another.

For example I started to incorporate videos a couple months ago. Eventually I tried to find and feature one daily and now I try to keep one on the front page at all times because I have seen the traffic increase because of them. The extra work is paying off.

We became a source for google news a couple months back and I am pretty sure when I link astrology-themed content in the mainstream news, it does drive traffic to the article which results in what? Well I am pretty sure it results in more astrology in the mainstream news! So I am going to keep doing what I am doing, working hard on this and allowing it to unfold but my news today is this: As of right now, we are the number one page on all of Top 10! Hooray! I am so proud to be part of this.

Thanks to all who contribute content or link in support and as always, please feel free to recommend sources of astrology-themed content (including your own). This is always appreciated as I need all the help I can get!

Astrology And Art – A Psychological Self Portrait?

January 27th, 2008 @ 10:25 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

van gogh self portait“Yeah, I’m thinking of doing a psychological self portrait,” I told the soldier this morning.

“A what?’

“Self portrait! A psychological profile of myself through astrology.”

“Why would you do that?”

“Oh, I just thought of it. I think it would be something to do. I am going to do it with videos I think.”

“I don’t know that I would want to reveal myself like that,” he said.

“Are you kidding? I have written 4000 blogs on this blog alone. You think I am not revealed? If you are going to write, you are going to be revealed. Like that singer songwriter you hate who is always singing about that one girl who broke his heart. He does that and he is visible.”

Never Mind “People” – Do *You Change?

January 26th, 2008 @ 4:51 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective

Libra63% of people believe that people don’t change, 23% feel they do not and 13% have Libra and can’t decide. (Check poll)

Having Libra myself, I could argue either side but I can tell you for sure that I don’t change. As a matter of fact I have not changed one lick since I was 5 years old and if I had any doubt about this, I am constantly reminded.

I am reminded by the soldier, by HQ, by Scott… others, and most recently by old pal, Kathleen who surfaced a few days ago and surprised me completely when she said, “You were always telling stories. No one could tell a story the way you could, that’s why you were such a good bartender…”

You have to admit this blog is nothing but a bar and I had no recollection of telling her stories whatsoever so I guess it is just baked in.  She also said when she clicked on link and saw my picture, I looked exactly the same which I have to say is embarrassing. I would like to evolve, but it seems impossible for me to do.

Could I swing a helmet at someone today? Well, yeah. I’d may be less apt but you’d be a fool to think I am not capable. If I am out with the soldier and he dances with another girl right in front of me, I will swing the fucking helmet at him, I absolutely will. I will clear another dance floor no problem and when we are in the old folks home together, same thing.

Some old gal comes sniffing around him, there is going to be hell to pay! Mad in my veins I will glare at her, death by look and then pick up something, swing it wildly at his head and then his crotch per my usual and get away with it, also per my usual. And this may be embarassing but on the other hand (says Libra) it is better than saying this:

“I used to be fun but now I’m not.”

What I really think is that I have occurred in nature and that is it, I have occurred in nature.  An apple tree, not too likely to turn into an orange tree but what about you?

Never mind other people, have you changed over the years?

Pluto in Capricorn And The Responsible Use Of Power: A Dilemma For Goats

January 26th, 2008 @ 1:15 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

pluto cold planetPluto is in Capricorn and a good number of the people who read here have Pluto in Virgo which means that Saturn is transiting conjunct their Pluto which is another Pluto/Capricorn exchange.

If you have Pluto in Libra… or in Scorpio for that matter your turn is coming so this also applies, the point being that we are clearly challenged to use our power (Pluto) responsibly (Capricorn) at this time. Here is an example from my life:
