Trends In The Collective: Pluto In Capricorn = Less Sex?

Ask the collective

carrie jonesI ran across this thread on Maurice Fernandez’s message board:

Pluto in Capricorn – New Trend?

AquariusMoon posted:

“It’s just a promise I made until I get married. Where I’m at in life, the women have got to come with something else, not just the body, but the mind and the spirit. It usually trips them out, but that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m looking at the big picture,”

Lenny Kravitz tells Maxim magazine on giving up sex ~ “

Earlier today I ran across this:

Sorry, but marriage and sex DON’T go together

“Carrie Jones hasn’t had sex with her husband Hal, a City banker, for the past four years. Nor does she want to. Sex is something she can no longer summon the effort to endure – with the man she married, at least…”

and this

“It’s the great taboo that no one dares admit – that sex is often a let-down.”

She has written a book on the subject (Cutting Up Playgirl: A Cheerful Memoir Of Sexual Disappointment, by Carrie Jones) and you can read the article here: Daily Mail

What do you think?

Interesting! So she had 23 lovers before her marriage, then she met her current husband, had children, and now hasn’t had sex for 4 years with him. My god, I couldn’t go for 4 years without sex!!

I think I hope pop-frigidity isn’t a trend, as pluto is squaring my mars in a few years.

Unreal, the coincidences on this blog… just this morning, I wrote on my Pluto list that I’m going to wait to have sex until I’m in a solid, real relationship with a stand-up guy who’s worth my fucking time. Literally!

Forget the Rat; this might as well be the year of the Rabbit.

Well, I certainly agree with AquariusMoon. The rest is up to you. Each to their own I guess ;)

Not good news for those with a Capricorn emphasis. Could go the other way with Pluto too, I never thought of that angle.

I went through 13 years of celibacy – by my own choice (I was divorced). Now that I’ve finally found someone I think is worth it, it has been effortless and wonderful. I feel sorry for the woman in the srticle because time spent in a loveless relationship is wasted time – and the kids will probably be warped by it somehow.

I sure hope less sex isn’t the new “trend”, although I agree with Lenny Kravitz that there is more to life than sex. If my SO and I weren’t well matched in mind and spirit, I’m sure the sex wouldn’t be as good, either. I was saving myself for “Mr. Right”. I’m glad I found him.

If this is a “trend,” then I’m the damn trendsetter :P

I totally agree that her kids are going to pick up that Mommy and Daddy don’t love each other. God knows I picked it up as a kid. To this day I am flabbergasted that married people might actually still love each other and WANT the other to come home at night, or whatever. Her kids will probably feel obligated to stay in a loveless marriage too. Whee.

I agree with the commenter who called bullshit.

I think there are plenty of people who will happily continue fucking each other with Pluto in Capricorn. If my partner suddenly cut me off, I would go find one (or a few) of them. :)

Ehh, maybe not less sex, but perhaps… sex with morality? With responsibility?

This woman was — Stiff Blonde, Spanish Dance all the way!!

“When a woman says “I love you,” the man expects that she means “I want you, I think you are wonderful, I want to be taken care of by you, and I will take care of my brood.” Too often she really means “I want your love. I am afraid of being a spinster. You are my likeliest prospect. I want to get away from my family. I am willing to make a life with you.”

Stiff Blonde, Spanish Dance

So they marry. If she is a good woman she wants to do the right thing. She tries her best. But she can’t be an inspiration. She doesn’t love him. The result adds up to a stiff blonde trying to do a Spanish dance. Why isn’t the dance any good. Was the arm held at the wrong angle? Who knows? But everyone knows it didn’t come off. It wasn’t in her.” ~~Friskywife.com

I think that in my case Pluto in Capricorn will not mean less sex, as I couldn’t have any less sex and still be breathing. Celibate four years and counting…and okay with it, on the whole.

Wow, a new level of apathy disguised as ‘duty’.

dreamsAreality – Stiff blonde, Spanish Dance is right on.

“she can’t be an inspiration. She doesn’t love him. It wasn’t in her.”

Why would someone waste their time, their partner’s time like this??? I sure hope, for her kids sake, that they don’t adopt this as a way of life. Life is a Spanish Dance in bold colors…it is each person’s responsibility to find out what inspires them and makes them want to dance. She needs some inspiration

That sourpuss photo of her says it all… “If you think you’re getting a blow job tonight, or pretty much EVER, you’ve got another thing coming, buster!” Lord, please don’t ever let me get that dried up and bitter, and if I do, please don’t allow me to try to influence the masses.

Less sex? I don’t think so. Responsible sex? Definitely.

Since I have an earth Pluto conjunct Venus, I fully understand this concept. Why do “it” with just anybody solely for your own pleasure? That runs its course eventually.

Why would Hal WANT to have sex with her anyway? Look at her body language, it isn’t as if she’s going to loosen up any in the sack.

I definitely couldn’t do that. I must have sex on a very regular basis or else I turn into a major bitch!

Mars in Capricorn tends to be very contained & controlled in their sexual expression, as does Mars in Scorpio(Pluto ruled) but both are capable of sustained, powerful sexuality when the situation feels right for them. Perhaps Pluto in Capricorn will see people being more thoughtful in the timing & choice of partners. And gain more appreciation for the sheer, overwhelming power of sexuality! We will see – one of the joys of astrology . . . :)

I just read about this frigid bitch, and man…what a hypocrite, and what a terrible message she’s passing on to her kids…”I don’t love your dad, but I’m leaving him as soon as you grow up and leave???” Why not just spare the man and the kids the agony, and move on with your lives?

I feel sorry for those kids. How are they going to know what love is, growing up with such an ice-cold warped mess of a mother?

Ya know, I really wanted to be all Libra-ish and say that maybe her husband has faults we’re just not privvy to, but then I read the article.

Yeah. . . She’s just a bitch!

“Pop-frigidity” heh.
everything in pop culture is ridiculously sexualized, but I hope we don’t start stigmatizing sex now.

“Oh, everything’s messed up because of all this sexual liscence. Now we need to start public shaming of women who like sex.”

And pfft. Everybody knows Capricorn’s an earthy sign. I doubt there will be significantly less sex. Just more discreet sex.
