Astrology, Archetypes And Mars Energy In Nature

Astrology in real life

venus mars paintingI think the soldier is about as pure an archetype as you are going to find out there. Matter of fact when I post his voice alongside painting of Mars and look at how Mars is rendered in the paintings and am pretty sure if he could talk he would sound like the soldier. He’s the God of war after all.

“I don’t think he’d be saying things that at PC,” the soldier commented and I have to agree.

The soldier routinely says things that seem outrageous in the moment. But then some days pass or some months or even some years and I see a core truth in what he says. I think this must be due the pure expression of energy that exists in our culture and I’ll give you an example.

A couple weeks ago the solider roughed up some guy who left his truck parked in the fuel line at a truck stop, blocking a bunch of other trucks while he went inside and took a shower. The drivers of the blocked trucks were all fuming and when the guy came out to finally get in and move his truck, the soldier confronted him… with force.

He said at the time he felt this was his responsibility. Someone had to do something and he was the first truck in line so the job fell to him. Astrologer, (and manly man) Dharmaruci copped to having similar feelings and that was that until I drove to Nebraska yesterday .

It is well known I hate bastards who drive slow in the left lane – the passing lane – and I realized as an idiot car drove alongside , abreast a semi (the most dangerous situation there is) with my car following and five cars behind me, that once clear the truck, I felt responsible to tailgate and terrorize the lead car into changing lanes. The cars behind me around counting on me, see?

So forget judging the soldier, turns out I am more like him than I thought. I have Mars conjunct Mercury so it makes sense this would play out in traffic, but what about you?

Do you ever feel it is your responsibility to assert yourself in this way?

Driving i have done yes. Like you cant stand lane hoggers (mars in 9th too) and one time i felt that responsibility to apply pressure to a slowy in the fast lane. He didnt budge and as the slower lane was free i eventually undertook. And lo-and-behold up popped Mr Policeman who fined me not just for undertaking but for aggressive driving too. Grr. Meanwhile Mr Roadhogger goes merrily on his way, probably pissing someone else off further down the line. Hopefully a cop..

This plays out for me at work. 10th house Virgo Mars square Mercury and opposing Saturn. I have to speak up when people aren’t doing their jobs and I often take the hits for that. I have earned the respect of my employer though so my job isn’t in danger. I just tend to be the one people are mad at instead of my Libra boss.

I used to as a kid (Aries Mars in 3rd). I grew up the youngest of 4 very, very raucous, rowdy, women, one of whom was regularly violent towards me and my older sister. If we talked back, we got it worse and the memories? Well, I view them as happening to someone else.
I was teased at school and my explosive temper (Mars opposed Pluto) was guaranteed to keep the bullies happy for weeks.
My sister, who is extremely Plutonian (12th House Pluto conjunct ASC; Sun and Moon in 8th House) taught me that ignoring and disconnecting was the best route.
It seemed to work a lot of the time–my Libra N.Node agreed with this double Libra with Plutonian flare.

Well, that began to fail too as I got older and needed to start operating in a way that served me better. I will say that I have never had problems making friends, good friends. I’m not bragging, and I don’t really see why in my chart (Mars conjunct Venus).
But you get to stage in your life (for me it was my 7th House Saturn Return) where things need to be tweaked.
I definately like to examine my inner workings.

So, I used to feel like I had to stand up for anyone and everyone until I had a life full of people who didn’t fit in. A psychic garbage pail. I’m trying to find a new route.

With 12th house Mars and Pluto in Virgo squaring my mercury in Gemini, I feel like it is my responsibility to “speak the truth.” I’ve been called a “trouble-maker” for my efforts. I can not stand listening to bullshit, lies or gossip so I find myself confronting people and questioning everything they say or believe in an effort to get at the truth.

Oh yeah. One of my jobs is to kick my friends’ asses when needed. Of course then I feed them and assure them the world is right so….. Mars/venus 2nd house Cancer but I will have to check aspects when I can grab my chart. Opposite Jupiter in Cap in the 8th if I remember right :)
