I have not made a new year’s resolution in at least 20 years, maybe longer. I always figure I am doing my best all the time, so to hell with it. But last night I made three resolutions for the new year so apparently I think I need some fixing and here’s the worst of it: I started early.
Being the ultimate teacher’s pet, I started reforming myself the minute I had my list drawn up and I don’t know. I feel like the engine of some old car that has been sitting 20 years, that all the sudden turns over and springs to life. Could I be turning into a Stephen King movie? I think so.
Anyone else feel they need a tune up?

With Neptune currently conjoining my Sun, I’m aiming for a New Year’s Irresolution, so the Cosmic Watchmaker can do his job. Who am I to know what I need to ‘improve’?
I am totally doing a tune-up while Mars is retro. What the hell else is there to do right now, for an Aries??? I stumbled across “The Work” by Byron Katie recently and decided to dissect a couple of core beliefs I have that need tweaking. In those two exercises, The Work worked. Worked! I’ve set aside a couple of days during my week-long vacation to reexamine some thoughts/beliefs that are, shall we say, posing challenges to my inner peace. I can’t change what’s out there. Why not change me?
I am a work in progress the more I work on me the more I see I need to improve….always a constant…but I do my best.
Yup! It’s the same old shit, but it’s in a new box. Hopefully this time I can get results.
I start tomorrow.
i like byron katie, avery. she’s rather zen and her process is good for letting go of old hurts and grudges or the drive to control others who are doing things “wrong.”
i need an eating tune up! i’ve been pushing myself hard for the last couple months and copping out regarding healthy eating as a corner-cutting measure, grabbing whatever was quickest and easiest and man, am i feeling it. i probably put on 20 pounds and physically, the lousy nutrition takes it’s toll. so it’s back to clean eating for me.
Yup. Last night in anticipation of my birthday I cleaned my apartment. Lookd around ‘do I want to live like this another year? giantly slobbish?’ Right. Lets fix it. Two hours into my birthday i was scouring the stove.
working on it. pouring tons of energy into it, actually. letting stuff out that i don’t need. the whole upcoming saturn crossing my asc has got my antenna up….
