I also watched a documentary on Nostradamus that stated that he predicted the end of the world to be in 2012 too. I wouldn’t doubt it, with the way things are going these days.

There is some disagreement over whether the Mayan prediction of 2012 is supposed to be an ‘end of the world’ in the same context as westerners think of Armegeddon.

This is from my blog:
In prophecy news, the Mayan Council of Elders is scheduled to meet November 26th and 27th to reveal their beliefs about the Mayan calendar and the coming of the 2012 date.

The national Mayan Council of Guatemala consists of 440 elders and led by Don Alejandro, they will select 25 esteemed elders to interpret the Mayan glyphs and report their conclusions on November 26 and 27th. A group of non-indigenous people will sit with these 25 Elders and witness the report of their findings.

The meeting will result in a book which will be signed by all of the elders and translated into many languages for world-wide distribution. I for one, welcome an official take on those prophecies.
