They ought to lock my whole family up. My daughter has gone to school, I yelled out to my son. ‘You ready for breakfast, kitten?”
“Yeah.”
I remembered I am not supposed to call him, kitten, puppy, bunny or any of the other stupid names I call my kids. I am also not supposed to sing. ‘Er… are you ready for me to stop calling you kitten?” I yelled, then chuckled.
“Yes,” he said as I walked into the living room. He was smiling.
“Okay how about I call you sir?” I said turning the corner into the kitchen. “Would you like your breakfast now, Sir,” I said over my shoulder. “I’ll get it for you.”
He came up behind me, and handed me his yesterday’s lunch box with its ice thing inside.
“Can you put this away for me, doll face?” he said with a slight smirk.
::snort::
I can barely handle these kids you know. They are both smarter than me and it’s a problem. I have created two freaks and I know exactly how it happened.

Wait til they get as tall as you and talk circles around you about all the stuff you hold dear to your heart. Raising wise kids is no simple deal. I am proud for you.

Lovely. He sounds as smart as a whip. And charming too!
I do this voice when i wake my kids in the morning. Kinda high-pitched and squeaky. My 11 year old daughter tells me the other day that it annoys her…..well, being the good parent i am, i don’t do it the following morning. She comes up to me and says “I’m sorry Mom, you can do the voice, I miss the voice!”
It’s tough being in that place where you’re not quite a child but not nearly an adult yet.
