Mars Transits Gemini and Cancer for 7 Months! Fire! Fire! Fire! Let’s Update…

Astrology in Real Life…

ironRemember this:

Mars is in Cancer and will go retrograde in November. When it’s all said and done, Mars with be in either Gemini or Cancer from now, Oct 1st until May of 2008. Gah.

It occurred to me we ought to track this transit. A lot of people who read here are studying astrology and the best way to learn is to live and pay attention, so… what house is Mars in at the moment and how is this manifesting? I’ll go first.

Mars is transiting my 6th house… Virgo aka, health, daily routine and communication and manifesting on all fronts.

First I am having to go to physical therapy which I loathe. As much as I like to exercise, I don’t like to be told to exercise or have my exercise dictated to me and none of this, “Oh, but I know it’s good for me…” I cop to being full of rage in there. I want to screw with my Mars, not this!! My God, it isn’t exercise it is “perfect exercise”. ::rolls eyes::

As for the writing… well obviously I am writing on steroids these days, look at this blog! And on the daily routine… well.

I have not been this busy or worked this hard for at least a dozen years. Saturn in Virgo to blame as well, but bottom line I am charged with so many tasks right now it’s just ridiculous. And the variety of things I have to do is also ridiculous. I have eight or ten hats I wear each day and I feel very much like a gerbil. I think this is apparent just looking at the blog. Writing advice is different than writing stories, or forecasts and it is certainly different then getting on a camera.

Being a mom is a job, managing my daughter’s illness is another, doing consultations is yet another. Editing the Top 10 is a job, as is being a friend and a lover and trying to keep my house relatively clean.

Training up with the soldier requires at least ten hats on it’s own and then I have to go to PT and hold a stick against my back and be instructed? ::smiles:: They keep me in there for 2 hours a crack and I fantasize swinging that stick, you know.

So what about you? Mars! House and effects please…

I have Gemini in the 7th and it’s packed and squared by Virgo Mars and Pisces Saturn. I’m working very hard at work and supporting my household while my partner goes through a job transition. My chronic tendonitis is flaring up so I have to get regular massages and chiropractic adjustments in order to keep up the pace. I’m very happy, but very very busy and some days just completely exhausted.

well, he’s in my tenth house and has been since this summer. and i’ve been tossing lines out all over the place trying to consolidate a sense of the kind of work i need to be doing next (i just got my MA this august.) he’ll barely cross into my 11th (squaring the pluto/venus opposition) when he stations retrograde, and i have no idea how to predict what may come of that… should be interesting, though.
just came back from another interview. most of my tenth house is gemini and i find myself juggling several jobs, mostly education related, go figure ;)

Let’s pretend I know what I’m doing, and if we’re right, Mars is in my 8th house (Cancer). Which might explain why I feel like a cat in heat and want to go hunting for sex.
And if I’m wrong, I guess I’m just heated up for no good reason :)

Mars is in my 8th house right now. My live-in boyfriend and I are contemplating a lot of first-time joint household purchases and are just having more ease with each of us buying collective things we both need. I’m also making more money than I have in the past, and so this has adjusted our collective money situation as well as the subtle balance of power that always seems to go along with money issues.

Also, just a Mars in Cancer note — I’m feeling much more easily moved to tears and also very happily cozying up at home after work…I have no natal planets in Cancer or the 4th house, so I find Cancer energy utterly fascinating and weird. I’m much more a Sag/Aqu/Scorp kind of person. Cancer feels like from another world.

Wellll, Mars is in my tenth house as well but I’m not seeing much action there, I don’t think. I’m still in college and hopefully graduating this year. If anything I’m doing even less work than I usually do and I’m definitely not getting any recognition for anything.

I am pretty sure my Cancer is an intercepted sign, but if Mars is in Gemini it is working through my 5th House and 6th.
I started art school in September (very 5th House) and Mars transiting has been very helpful indeed. I like to laze about, so Mars has really helped me stay for focussed that my usual ‘oh eff it all’ self.
I have trouble figuring interceptions out.

Speak slowly to the newbie girl…where does one go to EASILY figure out what you guys are talking about and even better how does one figure these things out on a daily basis as it appears you are doing?

dreamsreality: astro.com generates free birthcharts in the placidus system (there is more than one way of interpreting a chart, another is the Koch system–if you search through Elsa’s blog you will find a post or two on this, I think).
So that’s a good starting point! If you don’t have a birthtime, hopefully you can ask a parent, if not you will know which planets are in which sign (eg. Venus in Taurus) but not which House, and you will not know your Ascendant (or, Rising Sign). For example, You could be born April 2, so ‘be’ and Aries, but your Ascendant may be Pisces, or something else…the time of day determines what sign is on the horizon when you were born.

On astro.com click on ‘My Astro’ and take it from there. Then you can get all kinds of fun information!

Thanks Kashmiri, I do know my birthtime and have a somewhat shaky beginners knowledge of ascendant and houses and such AT TIME OF BIRTH, but am confused as to how you are getting DAILY transition, effects, etc. (I’m too astro-illiterate as to even know what all I’m trying to say in that one little etc.) info as easily? How does one know what’s going on in their chart TODAY? Hopefully your directions will provide just such info. Thanks for your help!! Going now to check it out.

dreamsareality – you hang around here and I guarantee you will learn astrology. You will get most of it painlessly via osmosis, I have been at this a long time and know this is what happens to people who hang around me. One day they wake up speaking the language and that’s all there is to it.

In fact, this is the exact reason HQ approached me about doing this blog.

HQ is a cool dude. dreamsreality-astro.com has daily and long-term transits for the data you enter.

Mars transiting 8th here. Much keening and pining over someone I can’t have. He’s a Cancer stellium to boot.

Mars in the 1st, retrograding to the 12th. Being amazed by the density and ineptitude of people around me and realizing I’ll have to do self-study over in-person classes because the people defined as ‘authorities’ are really screwing me up. It’s ‘up to me’ and I’m left wondering if I’ll get the rewards even if I achieve the competence. Sometimes (cynical self says) our society doesn’t seem based on it…..

Mars conjunct Moon in Scorpio in the 7th. Stormy marriages. Need to be alone now. Much happier without a relationship.

Transitting Mars is smack on my 2nd/3rd house Cusp in Cancer. I started a new job a few months ago and was getting very angsty with people at home/family/friends/landlord. I was just plain exhausted every evening. Then of course I realized I was experiencing Mars opposite Mars (Cap) and chose to shift my attitude and smile lots more. T Mars has moved along abit now opposite my Venus (Cap) and soon to square my Jupiter so lots of dynamic energy.
I figure with this Mars transits to chose my battles carefully :)

Hello fellow astro seekers,
Right now Mars is right on top of my venus which is in cancer in the eight house. Strong feelings happening here. Plus weird things are happening. My husband just lost his job, but there are hopes of finding a new position for him. My professional life is going well, but I’m feeling tension with work associates. My birthdate/time/place is 07/19/1963 time: est:4pm, Suffern NY. Most of my major planets are all in the eigth house and a lot of them are in cancer. Everything is pretty heavy for me emotionally, however I have a few planets else where in my chart that help lighten that load. Any comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Ali

Everything is fine until I leave the house. I can’t imagine why…

“this is what happens to people who hang around me. One day they wake up speaking the language and that’s all there is to it.”

Hey, that’s true! I didn’t realize it until you said it, though.

Mars is all up in my 12th house, where I have a bunch of planets as well as the short end of a TSquare. I keep reading about how energized I should be, but my energy actually feels somewhat thwarted. Maybe because of the 12th. I feel physically and emotionally jittery. I have dedicated myself to running at least 5 times a week. You would think, with Mars, that I would be raring to go, but it is a struggle. But I know that the thwarted energy needs a focus, so I’m not going to stop…
