My son… poor baby. Today we were leaving the grocery store and he ran ahead into the parking lot as I was gathering my groceries from the self-check out. My daughter and I rounded the corner outside the store and found him trying not to cry.

He does cry, but not in public so seeing him in distress I quickly got him to the car and asked what had happened.

Well, there are these kid level stop signs (you know, Saturn – STOP) marking the crossing walk from the front of the store to the parking lot and apparently they are bend-y. How’s that for Neptune? The stop signs are mounted on poles that are not rigid. They are designed to plop down when hit by a car then come back up but he didn’t know this. How would he, either did I.

So he ran out and grabbed the pole to swing around on it and instead the stop sign flopped down, the edge of it hitting him on the head. OUCH!

“Why do they do that?” he asked. “Why do they make them like that and put them right there where they know kids are going to come along and swing on them…!”

I got him home and coddled him as much as he would allow. Later in the day he lost a (Saturn ruled) tooth. It was loose but of course it couldn’t just fall out. He had to wreck on his skates, skin up his (Saturn ruled) knee and lose his tooth in one fell swoop.

You’d think he was having a Saturn transit, but no. This is just his life. He’s funny though. Damned kid oozes charisma and I do think he’s going to be all right!
