I got bad news today and it made me very angry. My job has been a source of discontent since last September and in October the s–t hit the fan. My boss turned into a crazy person and began criticizing me and even lying on me.

In Feb. I thought I was leaving forever when my boss’s boss stepped in an offered me to leave to manage another office. I packed my things, said goodbye to everybody and then went to the new place which I have absolutely loved.

It restored my confidence in the ability to be an effective manager. I applied for the job March 28 and didn’t get an interview but was told I would still possibly get the job since I was already at the same level as the job. Today, the selecting manager thanked me for staying and told me I would not get the job and had to go back to work for that crazy woman. I have worked extremely hard, twelve hour days, six days a week to prove myself and it hasn’t been good enough. I have gotten an MBA, relocated and made all kinds of personal sacrifices to “make it.”

I know people experience disappointment all the time, but the reality of today’s news hit me like a punch in the gut. I feel like I have no control over my life and I’m tired of it.
