nyt crossword puzzleI was in New York having coffee with HQ. We were talking about one of my favorite things, murder and mayhem and my criminal mind. And to be honest, I don’t recall exactly what I was saying but I think it was graphic and apparently the woman sitting at the table next to us (who was trying to do a crossword puzzle) was appalled.

I would have not known this had HQ not told me, but I could see he was right as I watched her leave the cafÆ’

Ah, Elsa, people have a lot of preconceptions about New York City and they’re mostly a lot of bull. Listen, no matter where you go in the world, it’s easy to shock people with our words. Bc no matter where they live, people have their illusions and the stuff they want to close their eyes to and when someone comes around who tells it like it is, well, people find that shocking and repulsive. When it’s neither, really. So don’t feel too bad.

As to your question, yes, it’s easy for me to get gaslighted. They do project their illusions onto me and sometimes I believe them (like an idiot). My Neptune is in Scorpio in the 5th, inconjunct Venus in Gemini in the 12th but trining my Pisces Moon in the 9th, (so I’m very Neptunian). Another reason is that I have Saturn square my Sun but hopefully this natal aspect will help me deal with my delusions about myself as I grow older.

10th house Saturn 2nd house Neptune. When I was younger, I was constantly projected upon, even by members of my own family, and by acquaintances and coworkers. This was a cause of great distress to me, do thr trine did not make life easier . . or did it?

Hey Marly I have Saturn squared my Sun, too!
I don’t know about you but after years of beating myself up, learning the astrology was like a little magic pill; “Huh! So that’s why I am so hard on myself for no goddamn reason!”

I have developed something akin to the five second rule (the food dropping on the floor one) when it comes to other people’s projections: If it still resonates 2 days later, I’ll take a look. More often than not I realize the other person is making shit up.

The best thing I did this year was dump a “friend” who not only projected on to me, but on to everyone in passing, very damaging for a Neptunian type.
I have 12th house Neptune (Sag) doing the trine dance with Venus, Mars, Saturn, and opposed Jupiter and Pluto. My Neptune likes to interfere all over my chart!

Hey, Kashmiri!! Well for years I didn’t realize I was being hard on myself.

“The best thing I did this year was dump a “friend” who not only projected on to me, but on to everyone in passing, very damaging for a Neptunian type.”

I’ve had to dump friends for this very reason, too.

Yes… have a problem with people assuming things about me that have no actual base in reality. I don’t correct people normally, either, because what’s the point? People are going to think what they’re going to think, and there’s no arguing it. Maybe they’ll get rudely woken up someday when I inadvertantly prove them wrong by doing something counter to their thoughts. Actions speak louder than words, etc.

In my case, I think it’s my ascendant… Libra and all (plus lots of planets in 1st or aspecting my ascendant). I project what people want to see at whatever time, instead of what I actually am. I can’t remember whether I should care or not.

Neptune in 3rd, Saturn in 1st.

I used to possess that problem also. “Am I who I think I am, or am I who the public thinks I am?” — constantly my question.

And I’ve done one thing similar to kashmiri which was broke off with a friend. His projection of me was very incongruent to my own self-image.

Then yesterday on the train, I thought, “Fuck it.” I am a spirit, using this body, using this personality. I am forever evolving, and that’s what I am.

Ah, people will always project. It’s just up to us whether we take them on board or not. Until very recently I believed absolutely in my family’s view that I was a timid, weak, antisocial personality. Then among other comments from my peers I got told ‘I’d hate to run into you in a dark alley.’, ‘You’re the funniest person I know.’ and “Just because [x] doesn’t have your mingling skills, doesn’t mean he’s a bad person.’ Now whenever I come up against negativity I just remember: The shortest prayer in the world isn’t Jesus wept, it’s Fuck Them.
Saturn’s in the 7th. Dunno about neptune.
