Astrology Is Not Flat: An Introduction

October 3rd, 2006 @ 11:01 am by Elsa

Just Blathering…

zodiac horoscope jewelryI’ve been mulling something to write and trying to get it to simplify. When I post anecdotes from my life I try to isolate the astrological correlation to a single thing, like “Saturn in Transit Through Leo, Conjunct Venus in the 7th House,”. And this is fine. It’s one way to present something but at the moment my experiences are so full-bodied, they would be degraded if pushed into some kind of cubbyhole.

This is what has occurred to me so for awhile, I wrote nothing. It doesn’t fit the format, right?

But now I see that I want to try to communicate in a new way. Because all of our lives are rich. We are all so complex and like the ballet post… there are lots of things happening on lots of levels with lots of time frames all the time.

And I think the more aware of this you are, the more enjoyable life becomes. Because let’s face it. Even when it’s bad, it’s fascinating if you pay attention. And surely that has to count for something.

And a long time ago, about five years ago I wrote series called “Astrology is Not Flat”. And by that, I meant a chart is a map of a person’s life and energy and people are obviously not flat! Even if they think they are flat, they’re mistaken. Everyone out there is a robust human being whether they are living this or not.

So I thought I would take a conversation… or several conversations because I never know what I’m actually going to write until I write it and throw them up here with the astrology attached. And I think this will work out. We’ll see.

Meantime, what about you? Do you pay attention to the nuance in your life? Or not?

Yay! Tremendously looking forward to this!

And yes, I do very much pay attention to the complexities and subtleties and layers and overlaps and contradictions and paradoxes in my life. All the time.

Yes..the more conscious I am of these nuances, the more grounded I feel…and more loving. I For me, paying attention to what is being given and what is going out is quite enlightening. They are all gifts.

The nuances keep me from becoming a bitter old hag. Literally. They keep the brain flexible, able to see many different sides. I think I would be profoundly depressed without all the little side shows going on in my psyche and from the windows of a bus. Great thought provoking post.

I obsess over nuances. *headdesk* But then, I obsess over everything, so there’s nothing new there… Just a few hours ago I was obsessing over this stupid freaking return that has me wanting to pull a Marvin the Martian on Saturn.

(You know, trying to blow it up so it’s not in my way. ;) Yes, I know, that would be applying far too much Aries in the wrong sort of way.)

But really, I love these astro tidbits. They really help with learning to read charts!

I feel really guilty about the things quick little astro profiles or analyses of my chart tell me I am, flighty, superficial, selfish or whatever and jealous of others like Pisces or something. So I hope there are tons of nuances. Do you want people who get your advice to feel like they are just this one thing that you described that maybe they don’t like or read too deeply into your post? How do you want them to read it?
