Astrology Books For Beginners

Outtakes and Various Other Sundries…

zodiac necklace vintageReader, “Sarah” asked for recommendations of astrology books for beginners and reader “CC” made some suggestions here. Thank you, CC.

Debbi Kempton’s book Secrets From A Stargazer’s Notebookgoes down very easy.

I also recommend The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need as an astrology primer. In spite of it’s stupid title, it does touch on a lot aspects of astrology…a little of this and that and I’ve found it’s enough to either whet an appetite or make a person running screaming for the door.

The other book I LOVE is Michael Lutin’s “Made In Heaven” which I still consider one of the smartest, funniest books I have ever read and this is some fifteen years after the fact. Not for the blushing, though! He writes so well, I can still recall certain statements he made, all these years later.

For example, he says if you want to have fun with a Virgo in bed, you should make a date for later on! He also asserts that Leo’s are so vain, they dye their pubic hair…

::smiles::

Now I think this is funny as hell. I laughed until I cried when I read this book, and if you’re not offended by this kind of audacity, then get the book because you’ll love it.

And what about the rest of you? Please post your recommendations of books for beginners here and in future, I will be able to refer people. Thanks!

I have to read Michael Lutin’s daily fix every morning. (Well, along with your blog, of course.) Btw, I read in one Monroe bio that she used to peroxide her pubic hair. And she had Leo on the Ascendant.

I like Parker’s Astrology. I have to buy another edition bc mine fell apart.

Teen Astrology – The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Life Your Own by M.J. Abadie

Written for teenagers but excellent for ANYBODY. I refer to it all the time and I’m 46! :-) (It’s ~my~ favorite astrology book.)

Good books for beginners off the top of my head
Parkers’ Astrology seems a decent starter book.

Also I really really liked Susan Thompson’s Aspects In Astrology

I am completely addicted to Liz Greene’s books but I don’t know how useful they are for beginners. They’re great for anyone interested in psychology though.

Thank you, Elsa! I’ve been thinking of writing in and asking this very same question, but haven’t been online much lately. Serendipity strikes! :-D

I, also, absolutely love my copy of “The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need.” The only other book I’ve gotten (and understood) was “Love Signs” by Linda Goodman. I didn’t think that “Sun Signs” by the same author was as useful, however, so never bought it.

Thanks! I’ve added all of these to my wishlist. Could you also post recommendations for astrology students who are past the beginner stage?
