You absolutely sabotage yourself, in more than just your art. The tendency to act against your own self is hard-wired, with your Mars in square aspect to your Sun and Neptune. You will have to work very hard to overcome this. This may sound like bad news, but I’m telling you this because it’s your only hope.

See, you will not just all the sudden stop doing this one day. You will have to make a conscious effort to understand your motives and redirect your energy. I would go as far as to say, this will be one of the most pronounced challenges of your life. It’s as if these are the cards you’ve drawn and you need to play them very creatively if you want to advance.

But let’s put that in perspective. Everybody has some kind of horrible problem. Danny Devito wanted to be an actor. Actors are usually quite pretty, aren’t they? Well he’s not. But he WANTED to be an actor, so he over came his hard-wired problem, eh?

Personally, I’m a little lazy. I have a short attention span and I want things to be easy. This is why it took me twenty years to write a book. I had no problem churning out the pieces, but finish it? Too hard! Too boring! But in the end, I wanted it done, so slaved and sobbed all over the keyboard and today I can say, I wrote a book.

So what about you? Do you want to be an artist, or no? If no, keep doing what you’re doing. If yes, then get in there and get dirty.

Dear Girl Wondering ,

There is nothing wrong with you! You’re just being yourself and I strongly suggest you keep it up. You’re 15 years old… and it’s very hard at that age to be an individual, and operate outside whatever is traditional. And this is what I imagine you are trying to do. I think you should keep it up because it’s authentic to your nature.

You have Venus and Mars in Aquarius, which wants to break away from what is “normal” in relationships. You want to make your own rules. I imagine you resist getting a boyfriend because you sense that as soon as you did, you’d be “stuck”. Does that resonate? You should ignore me, if it doesn’t.

I’m just saying, when it comes to hooking up: what other kids do is never going to cut it for you. You’re looking for something truly unique and innovative when it comes to relationships. So just keep doing it.

And I repeat: You are okay exactly the way you are. It’s perfectly fine to be an interesting person.

Dear Windswept,

Calm down? Hell no. Not with a chart like this, it’s not.

Some people have chaotic lives. Others think that people like you create their own chaos. Sometimes this is true. But there are some people who are always going to have a lot of balls in the air. You’re one of them and I don’t know what to tell you, but learn to juggle!

Okay, not really. I have some other ideas. You might discriminate around who you choose to associate with. You don’t really need anyone who is going to whip you into a frenzy, do you? So lose people like that as quickly as possible. And when you meet someone who offers a respite, or gives you some peace… try to glom on, okay?

It also may help to accept and embrace your circumstance. Your chaotic life, I mean. Rather than wait for the calm that will never come, how about striving to make art of your life? Because you won’t get free of your basic nature.

It’s sort of like having brown hair. Or black. Or blonde. Whatever you have, it’s yours so you may as well strut around with it. I figure you may as well go out in the world with this: “I’m a badass juggler! Watch this! Watch this shit!”

Does he love you? Before you worry about that, ask yourself this: do you love him? Because it really doesn’t sound like you’re getting what you need – a sense of security, for example.

Considering you’re a Cancer with Venus in Cancer, this is a number one consideration. You want to be clinging to something that is real. And since you don’t know, you are understandably stressed. So here are some ideas.

Number one, ask him. “Do you love me?” After all, you need to know!

Don’t laugh and don’t say, “I’d never…” Why wouldn’t you? Look at how freaked you are. If this is all this guy can deliver, you may as well find out so you can cut your losses. The idea is to get your needs met. If he loves you, he will start meeting some of your needs and if not, you’ll want to look for someone else.

And I’m sorry. I understand you are invested here, but a rollercoaster does not sound like something you should ign up for the long term. Bottom line, you should not have to be guessing where he stands because it doesn’t work for you.

I’m not saying he won’t step up, because he very well might. Tell him what you want. Do you know what you want? You want someone put their arms around you and tell you that they love you. You want to FEEL it. If he can’t do that, I’d move along. But catch the point here. You want to focus on your feelings, not his.
