Astrology, Weddings, Celebrities and Fashion Statements by Annalisa

Astrology in real life

When those in the public eye, especially those who like to make fashion statements get married, they take great care in choosing their gowns. We can see the person in the gown has taken a great deal of time choosing their look for the day that they marry.

I find that the earth signs take their wedding dresses very seriously. Air signs tend to entertain with their choices while choosing very personal dresses, Fire signs go for the flash often enough and Water signs are emotionally connected with their dress and most likely, with the exception of a Taurus, to wear a vintage style. I also find that the rules I’ve set up for dressing play a huge role in how a woman appears on her wedding day.

Where your Venus is has a great deal to do with your wedding dress choice and men like dresses that reflect where their Mars is placed. Let’s start with a Libra:

A Couple Who Met On The Harmonic Concordance of 2003… Astrology And A Hot Wedding

Astrology in real life

I am the astrologer that Bee of Weddingbee.com is talking about here and this is my side of the story:

My friend who is now her husband called me and told me he was meeting a girl and it was not a date.
I argued with him he was going on a date because I could hear it in his voice and he argued that he was not going on a date. Like this:

“It’s a date.”
“No, I’m just meeting her.”
‘You’re going on a date.”
“I am NOT going on a date.”
“Well she is going on a date and so are you just as soon as you catch on, because this is a date.”

Tombstone

Astrology in real life

tombstone2.JPGWe’ve pretty much decided to get married in Tombstone as we have history there. Besides way more than our share of hell raising, it was in Tombstone that we dressed up as as soldier and his wife when we were 17 and 19 years old to take the now infamous photo… seeing as the soldier is wearing a YANKEE uniform.

Speaking of hell raising, the solider would like to get married during Helldorado Days and then be in the parade with our own float.

I think all this a a good idea for two irreverent Mars-y types although I am (still) not allowed to dress as a Saloon Girl, he’s got his Saturn on me fer sure.

“It says here you can get married in a bordello,” I said brightly. “Wanna do that?”

No response.

Scorpio, the 8th House and Goods Of The Dead - Pawn Shops And The Wedding Ring From A Failed Marriage

Ask the collective

wedding ringsAwhile back I posted this blog You’re Divorced And Getting Remarried… What About Your Old Wedding Ring? to ask people what they did with there old wedding ring. 33 people responded, many to say they threw their rings away (typically into a body of water) and I have to say I didn’t believe you.

Mercury in Aries vs Mercury in Libra With Mars Involved: Wedding Day Fight

Astrology in real life

marsThe possibility of the soldier and I having a battle on our wedding day came up on the comments in the blog Auspicious Day For A Wedding

“I don’t want to fight on our wedding day,” I said.

“I think it’s in your DNA,” he answered simply.

I’d have denied it but hey…

Speaking Of Using Astrology To Pick An Auspicious Day To Marry…. Good Day To Marry 2009 / 2010?

Ask the collective

2009-november-print.jpgOne of the regular readers here is getting (got) married tonight - Congrats Susie! We got in a discussion about the wedding chart on Astrology Today - Hall Of Mirrors and then the soldier informs me he believes we can/ should marry November or December 2009.

He has his reasons. He’s done his calculations and so forth and this is what he’s come up with. He briefly explained his reasoning. He’d have explained it exhaustively but he knows I could care less. “So what do you think?” he asked. “November or December 2009.”

“I don’t know. I just can’t believe you want to get married in freezing December. It’s not romantic, it’s a cold day.”

He blushed. “Well, P, I don’t know. I’m just saying I think that’s the soonest we can do it,” he waved his hand still blushing. “Look on your heavens and see if that’s a good time,” he said before beatin’ feet out of the room.

If any of you electional astrology types happen to stumble on a good day to get married, post Nov 2009… lemme know - Thanks.

Open Question: You’re Divorced And Getting Remarried… What About Your Old Wedding Ring?

Ask the collective

rings.jpgFor all the divorcees out there, I have a couple of questions:

What did you do with your wedding ring when you divorced? If you initially kept your ring, do you still have it? Does it have feelings attached? Do you future plans for it?

If you are remarried, does your current spouse know you have the previous ring and just in general, do you think any of this is significant?

In other words, do these inanimate objects that are symbols have energy? If they do, how should it be handled?

For the record, I am asking this because my Pisces sister had a ritual around ridding herself of old wedding rings. I have no such ritual but am wondering if I should.

Anyone?

Open Question - Astrology And Weddings: Should You Marry With Mercury Retrograde

Ask the collective

wedding-cake.jpgDear Elsa,

I’m trying to plan an informal wedding for this year and the two months we’re looking at are June and October. I’ve looked at the calendar and it looks like Mercury will be all wonky all through both of those months. My question is simply, is it insanity to try to plan for a wedding during a Merc retro period? Are we begging for the cake to go missing, the minister to be hijacked, and all the guests to get lost? Should we consider a different month or go ahead as planned and keep a sense of humor about whatever happens?

Engaged

Dear Engaged, this is absolutely not my area of expertise so you should take what I say with a grain of salt. I am posting this as an open question so others might chime in… but since you asked me, I would never ever get married with Mercury retrograde. ::smiles::

That said, it sounds as if you are drawn to and even may relish the upside-down-ness of it all, so whose is to say?

Further you are talking to someone who got married on April Fool’s Day and yes… that marriage was a joke so it seems to me it is all in how you approach the idea of your marriage. If you are looking for something solemn - well Mercury wonky sounds all wrong to me. But not everyone wants something solemn.

Anyone else?
