I overheard some gal on the radio when I was talking to the soldier. “What is she saying?” I asked.

“Oh she’s saying, I’ll give you a massage for $100, if you want me to take a shower with you, that’s $200 and if you want the fuuuuuuuuuull executive treatment, that’ll be $300.” (swearing below the break)

The soldier is in Maryland parked on the street next to another truck that is broken down. The other truck has 2 drivers and he may have to let them into his truck tonight so they don’t freeze to death because their truck won’t run to warm the cab. He says they are “filthy bastards, neither of them have any teeth,” but never mind that, at the moment he has to go to sleep.

“So you’re just going to go to sleep and leave those guys?”

Truck driving is dangerous. The last company the soldier worked with statistically saw 1/3 of their trucks wrecked each year. Not a day goes by where the soldier doesn’t see dead drivers on the road and when I used to drive to meet him all the time I saw them myself.

There were all those drivers killed on the Oklahoma ice storm we got caught in and on another trip I passed 17 trucks blown over and off the road caught in gusts of wind with their trailers empty. But there is a new and growing threat. People have started stealing trucks with knives or at gunpoint and taking off with the load.

“P, this is a candy walk. I’ll say, hey! My hiney is cold and my wife is worried about it. That’s what I’ll tell the other guys when I’m loading…”

The soldier is going back on the road.

“They’re already yelling at me on the cb this morning,” he said.

“Yeah? What for?”
“Oh I was passing some guy and some other guy wanted to pass and he didn’t get out there in time so he was pissed.”

“And?”

“And he got on the radio to bitch me out.”

“What did you say?”

“Nothing. I just started singing.”

“What song?”

“You grab a line, I’ll grab a pole, honey!”

I laughed and went into the gym.

“Stopped at a rest area so I could work out and as always all the truckers got on the radio and started teasing me, talking about me.”

One more blog regarding the massive dose of Aries energy over the weekend. The soldier has to maneuver his truck into this extremely difficult position to unload all that steel. It required him to circle the block in a neighborhood not meant to accommodate trucks on it’s narrow streets.

Making the turns are challenge in these conditions, perhaps you have seen a truck struggling and impatient people in cars (who do not understand physics) will wing around the truck oblivious to the idea the truck is trying very hard not to turn over and kill them with it’s 60,000 pound load. So this is what happened on the first right turn and it was harrowing.

“What’s that sound?” I asked.

“That’s the trailer wanting to turn over,” he said.

Yesterday I helped the soldier unstrap and un-tarp a load of… whatever it was. Roofing stuff? For those who are new or don’t know me well, I lovvve physical work so relish these opportunities.

The place we were at unloaded half the stuff while we waited in their break room drinking coffee and eating the blueberry scones my Libra ran out for. We were stupid happy as always and it is interesting how well he is treated with me there. As a rule, flat bedders are not invited inside but every time I am with him people are incredibly accommodating or at least this has been the case so far.
