Speaking of the book, Five Years to Freedom: The True Story of a Vietnam POW, I think will be my last post on the topic. It’s another thing that struck me as interesting on many levels.

As I have mentioned, I like the writing in this book. Horrifying or not, Rowe can tell a story and stories being Jupiter-ruled always expand a person.

Rowe is captured along with two other Americans. One of them is isolated from the other two right away which pretty much tells you from the outset that he’s got a separate destiny. Rowe and Dan are also separated at various times to various extents but nothing like this third man, Versace (Italian and Puerto Rican) who is immediately isolated and clearly on his own and independent path.

“I’m thinking,” I told the soldier. “No one wants to hear stories of the nefarious.”

He laughed. “No they don’t, P.”

“I am thinking about my friend who died. I am glad her family doesn’t want to talk to me at this point. I obviously don’t know where the lines go. If it were me, I would want the story, the story is precious. You can’t hear these stories anywhere else in the world and you say people don’t want to hear stories about the nefarious but it’s not true. You can’t say there isn’t an appetite for this stuff because there is. Look at all the cop shows and grisly murder shows… investigations. People watch that stuff  so where is the line? Is it when it is real and there are emotions involved?”

Do you have an emphasis on the Cardinal signs? Think you can control others? Har! Best think again. (from 2007)

Sagittarius rules storytelling, perspective and the higher mind among other things.  I am very comfortable with stories that are shadowy, either due the characters or the circumstances. I like war stories and one of a kind stories even when they are dark.

Some people don’t like these kinds of stories and avoid exposure to them. I feel this is understandable but I question the idea or the assumption that people from this camp are somehow higher and lighter then someone like me and to question this is consider perspective.

I’ve been talking to everyone I know about my recent revelations, I can’t say that I am doing a very job.  It could be Mercury is retrograde, it could be that people are having their own lives and problems and don’t want to hear anything too… whatever. Everyone in this story (including the motel guy) was a criminal. It was just that kind of day where you throw the dice and they land how they land…

This is from early 2007. In between the AMF and getting together with the soldier, I had a couple “dates” with a man I called, “Coffee Date”. They were not really dates because when he asked me to go out with him I told him that I was fresh from a break-up and didn’t think I could manage.

I told this story to satori and she liked it. I asked her why she liked it because I have no perspective on such a thing and I was contemplating writing it for my blog. “I don’t know,” she said. “It’s very evocative…”

I was satisfied with that I guess because now I am going to tell you.

I’d forgotten about this, my sister brought it up. We were talking about the innate class we both have. It’s in us, all right. We both have exquisite taste though how we got it is… well it’s hard to understand.
