My upcoming solar return which I know is wicked. I don’t look at it because it’s akin to looking at open heart surgery or something which is not something I’d line up to do having Libra and all. But I am feeling so happy today so I threw the chart up and noticed there was just one trine in a sea of hard aspects on the angles no less. I am not complaining because the sky in general is acute these days and I doubt many of you are much better off.

Solar returns bug me because they work. I would like them not to work. I would like them to be silly and there is at least one astrologer I respect that thinks they have no merit but my experience consistently shows these charts to be valid.

My last solar return had a Cardinal grand cross in it and I was pretty disgusted. Simply put, I did not want to be or become the person it described. I liked myself the way I was, much softer than I am now. I just didn’t want to have the command the chart described but as you can see the chart has manifested itself and I have grown into these shoes.

Pluto goes direct on September 8th and boy it’s a hell of chart.

The Sun is conjunct Saturn, Venus, Mars and Mercury (ruler of Virgo, birthday girls and boys) all tightly conjunct in Libra in a tight square to Jupiter in Capricorn and trine the Moon in Sagittarius.

Another thing notable (as pointed out on one of the astrology mailing lists I monitor) every planet in the chart is aspected and if this happens to be your birthday, you’re going to have a year to remember.

Lots of charisma and lots to say. People will be listening, they’ll have no choice. If you have been waiting for a big year, I’d say this is it.

Virgos are going to have one hell of year.  By year, I mean solar year, from birthday, 2008 until birthday 2009.  Reason being most will have Saturn conjunct their Sun in their solar return but even more compelling, ruler Mercury will be in Libra conjunct Venus and Mars.

Now translated, I’d say this is going to transform all Virgo’s into leaders over the next year. These solar return charts are very Cardinal and if you are a Virgo you will be taking charge and further it will be your responsibility to do exactly that.  You just don’t get dealt cards like this by accident, you must play them.

On top of what I have already mentioned there is support for the Sun and Saturn from Jupiter in Capricorn and anyone who is willing to work is going to be rewarded and probably richly.

As to how you will feeeeel about this, that depends on the Moon in the chart (the day you were born) along with you basic nature so it is variable but that stuff up there is correct and hard core - Mark my words.

Can any Virgos feel this coming?

A solar return chart is cast for the day and time the Sun (solar) returns to the exact place it was when you were born. Generally this occurs on your birthday but on occasion it happens the day before or the day after. Although I know of one notable exception most astrologers feel these charts are useful in providing a map of the year ahead.

I fall in the group who uses a solar return chart but not in the group who travels on their birthday to affect the year ahead. Yes, some people feel you can manipulate your experience by spending your birthday in a specific location so the planets fall into the houses (areas of life experience) you prefer.

The soldier quit his job today and his boss is of course, having kittens. He quit in Special Forces soldier style which has been astonishing to witness. Let’s just say when the man is going to execute, he is going to execute and it’s only after he’s gone that you have time to register who and what you have just encountered… after you get your jaw off the floor that is. It’s when you get your jaw off the floor that you start to comprehend you were dealing with a force of nature… all along.

Anyway, he turned in the truck at the terminal, the mother cat is actually his dispatcher who has been calling him since. He finally picked up the phone and apparently the guy was devastated.

“Come back. You were my best driver. I liked working with you. Why don’t you just go home and think about… don’t quit. You come back… come back, dpn’t go…”

The soldier told him he would not be coming back..

“Okay, okay but will you call me sometime?”

And as to the astrology… well the solar return is comin’ in. New year, BAY-BEEEEE

Remember Pisces, satori with her fierce solar return? We are going to be watching her.

She’s got the 19 year old leukemia patient she is dealing with, she’s got a new love and she’s got the fierce Mars Pluto across the ascendant /descendant in her solar return. I have encouraged her to go to the gym… something for her rage. Not that she is a particularly angry person but fact is when you have to watch a teenager you care for fight cancer I think it’s fairly impossible not to be mad as hell at some point.

My son has a grand cross in his solar return this year and has really been under the gun. He surprised me last night when he said, “Ever since my birthday…”

He went on to explain how particularly hard things have been since he turned 8 and all I could do was nod and commiserate because facts are facts. He then surprised me by telling me he had been having prophetic dreams.

He said he dreams something and two days later the things happens. He expressed a sort of ambivalence over the situation. On one hand I think he knows this is special, on the other hand most of the things he is dreaming that wind up happening are bad. Pretty heavy for an 8 year old, I’d say.
