My daughter was riding behind me on the scooter. “Now see,” I said looking over my shoulder at her on the moving bike. “You asked me if you were social, and see what you’re doing?”

“What?”

“We’re both on a scooter and we both like it but look what you’re doing. You are waving at everyone we see. You’re waving at cars, bikes, trikes and dogs. You’re a positive freak, this cannot be mistaken.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. So you’re back there waving at the public causing glee and what I am doing? I’m all focused here. I am my normal self,” I said, scooting down the street alongside the mall. “As always I think I am Snoopy on his doghouse, the Flying Ace! I have had myself mixed up with that dog my whole life so just think about it. You’re back there waving like you’re in some kind of parade. I’m going down the road with my goggles, thinking this is WW2 and I don’t know honey. Anyway you look at it, we’re both crazy.”

“We’re having fun.”

“True. So you go ahead and wave and leave me alone, would you? I’m going back to my job here. I have to drive the machine. I’m driving the doghouse - you wave.”

I heard her snort as I crouched down on the scooter to reduce wind resistance and gunned it.

When my Moon left Taurus for Gemini, I felt encumbered by my bulky lumbering car, so of course I got a scooter! A racing scooter that is, for all my quick trips!

I cop to being especially happy wearing my jacket and a helmet because I know people can’t tell if I am a boy or a girl… only that I am on my way!

This is how I look now… my imitation of an air sign and I can even make small talk for short periods of time if need be. Hah!

I’m back from getting my scooter serviced, I bought it the premier scooter shop here, Sportique, where everyone working there is steeped in this culture. Hipsters, I guess they’re called but whatever they are, I like them. I like their sideburns and their self esteem. They remind me of the hippies of the 60’s who also had costumes and a preferred mode of transport, the VW van.

The first is the Pluto in Libra generation, the hippies had Pluto in Leo but what about my generation with Pluto in Virgo? We don’t seem to have distinguished ourselves in this way. Perhaps we have and I am too immersed to see it but when I think of Pluto in Virgo, we seem to be the ones who are messing with genetics. You know. We’re trying to perfect the human race and cure all these ills. We’re sort of these scary do-gooders or something and I don’t know what to say except I’m one of them.
