Steve Jobs obituary published by Bloomberg (accidentally)

Outtakes and various other sundries

Steve Jobs was described as the man who

How is this for Pluto In Sagittarius?
“An obituary of very-much-alive Apple founder Steve Jobs has been accidentally published by the respected Bloomberg business news wire”

“The story, marked “Hold for release – Do not use”, was sent in error to the news service’s thousands of corporate clients.

The stock obituary was published “momentarily” after a routine update by a reporter, and was “immediately deleted”, Bloomberg said.

Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, but there is no suggestion that the news wire has recent news on his health. Most media organisations regularly update their pre-prepared obituaries of newsworthy figures..”

Astrology, News And Publishing Post Pluto’s Transit Of Sagittarius

Astrology in real life

obama.jpgThis morning I updated the soldier on the news around Obama’s choice for Vice President. As I mentioned, we both think the choice of VP is going to be critical in the election.

“Hilary does not seem to be on the screen at all,” I said. “As to what is being reported.”

“Hmm.”

“Thing is, we really have no idea what is going on. They do not report in actual news. The job is to put something up there that provokes people, and whether or not it’s based in reality is irrelevant. Just churn something out and next day, do it again. It’s come to a point where it’s pointless to read the news, it’s pretty much meaningless.”

“It’s as bad here as it has been in the UK and their press is notorious…”

This is where I think we are post Pluto’s rout through journalism (Sagittarius). There is no way to get real news at the moment. There is no standard, ethics or any other damned thing.

Do you agree or no? Is there a news source you trust? (And by the way, who is your pick for VP to Obama?)

Tomatoes Blamed In Salmonella Outbreak… In Error?

Outtakes and various other sundries

tomatoes.jpgTomatoes not alone on FDA’s radar

“As salmonella cases continue to climb, the government is investigating whether tainted tomatoes really are to blame for the record outbreak — or if the problem is with another ingredient or a warehouse that is contaminating newly harvested tomatoes…”

There was been an outbreak of salmonella in the US, starting in April. It has been attributed to fresh tomatoes which were of course pulled from all the grocery store shelves. Interested in this sort of thing, I followed the story.

The tomato industry has been devastated of course. The way things happen to inanimate objects (like tomatoes) is exactly the way things happen to people. One day you’re fine, business a usual, the next day you’re in a crisis with no idea when it will end.

Astrology And Social Trends: Pluto Conjunct Juno - Will Traditional Marriage Comes Back From The Dead?

Astrology in real life

fool.jpgsatori writes on Pluto’s Last Gasp:

“It seems interesting to me that juno is traveling right alongside Pluto along the sagg/cap cusp. it’s even turned retro at the same time. might be the herald of what you’re talking about re traditional marriage. “

satori - Good catch. That is definitely possible but does not feel personal to me. Having a 7th house Uranus, I don’t think in “traditional marriage”.

I mentioned men, women and parenting in the blog and my comment in the comments was in regards to something else - namely the fact that everything old is new again… eventually.

Virgo, Stephen King Appears To Think Along The Same Lines I Do Regarding Gossip And The Media

Outtakes and various other sundries…

stephen kingHere’s my (most recent) rant on state of publishing, gossip etc. - Jupiter And Pluto Leaving Sagittarius For Capricorn: The Paparazzi, George Clooney, Dead Babies, Cocaine And The Shadow Side

Seems Stephen King has similar feelings on the situation - From Time.com : Q&A - Talking with Stephen King

Here are some quotes:

“You guys are just covering - what do they call it - the scream of the peacock, and you’re missing the whole fox hunt.” Like waterboarding [or] where all the money went that we poured into Iraq. It just seems to disappear. And yet you get this coverage of who’s gonna get custody of Britney’s kids? Whether or not Lindsay drank at her twenty-first birthday party, and all this other shit.”

and

“I think there ought to be some serious discussion by smart people, really smart people, about whether or not proliferation of things like The Smoking Gun and TMZ and YouTube and the whole celebrity culture is healthy. We’ve switched from a culture that was interested in manufacturing, economics, politics - trying to play a serious part in the world - to a culture that’s really entertainment-based. I mean, I know people who can tell you who won the last four seasons on American Idol and they don’t know who their f—— Representatives are.”

Plenty more where that came from -> Stephen King on Time.com

Publishing My Book and Today’s Disturbing Jupiter Moon Pluto Conjunction In Sagittarius

Astrology in real life..

jupiter planetAll this book talk is disturbing me! It figures with the Moon in Sagittarius (publishing) in uncomfortable aspect with the outer planets.

But Sagittarius is about your beliefs. The Moon in Sadge would indicate beliefs that are personal and conjunct Pluto, make that your “deeply held” beliefs.

Factor in the aspect to Uranus and perhaps those deeply held beliefs are eccentric, but so?

The fact is I do not believe in pushing the publication of my book. I just don’t! Continue reading Publishing My Book and Today’s Disturbing Jupiter Moon Pluto Conjunction In Sagittarius

Jupiter’s Transition From Scorpio to Sagittarius and the Gossip Industry: Has It’s Popularity Peaked?

Trends in the Collective

perez hiltonNow this may be personal to me, but that’s why I’m asking. I have noticed various shifts since Jupiter left Scorpio for Sagittarius and here’s another. I have absolutely had it with the gossip industry. I am just sick to death of the negativity. I am sick of hearing about who is fat, who is thin, who is doing who and most of all, I am sick of the publishing (Jupiter) of the genitals (Scorpio) of starlets. Aren’t you?

I am tired of reading the dirt on everybody, all the time. I am looking for things higher-minded these days. We’ve still got Pluto (the dirt) in Sagittarius (Publishing) but not for long. I think this gossip gig is about up, and what about you?

Do you think gossip is still in vogue or is your attention shifting?

Astrology and the Proliferation of Porn: Pluto in Sagittarius

Just Blathering…

sagittarius horoscope zodiacThe wide variety and copious amount of pornography available these days I would also chock up to Pluto in Sadge. When Pluto moves through a sign, we see the shadow side if the things it rules. It’s the publishing (Sagittarius) of that which is private (Pluto), on a wide scale (Sagittarius). Taboo sex (Pluto) is especially large (Jupiter). Publish the shadow side. Broadcast it!

And along with the other manifestations of Pluto through Sagittarius, none of this is new. The performance enhancing drugs (shadow side of Sagittarius ruled sports) the doctored photographs and the plagiarism….and the made up non fiction books, ala “Million Little Pieces” (shadow side of publishing) and pedophile priests (shadow side of religion) are not new. This has just come to the front at this time, and in a big way, because we’re talkin’ Sadge here.

So porn is always a hot topic on this blog. And sure enough there is another one of those questions coming up, but for those who are having problems…people married to porn addicts for examples, who are being told that porn is here to stay, well I think that’s right. However, I think its popularity has nearly peaked.

Right now it sort of the soup de jour. But when Pluto leaves Sadge…well, people will have reached a point of saturation. They will start to see that making a career of, making a life of watching porn and defending their right to watch porn will becom passÆ’

Other Comments about Comments: The Double Libra and Kaavya Viswanathan Rising From The Ashes

Outakes and Various Other Sundries…

zodiac cigarette card vintageThe Double Libra surfaces, here. I think cooooool she did. People amaze me. I love this blog.

Also, Lise commented on the Pluto in Sagittarius post, regarding the Harvard student/author/plagiarizer that it would interesting to see what form her rebirth took, as if “rebirth” is a given. I don’t think it is. Many people go down and stay down. Rising from the ashes takes skills. And as an example, check OJ Simpson. Did he have a rebirth? Hell no.

When I think of OJ, I think of my mother. She used to say you’re in big trouble “when decent people don’t want anything to do with you.” And I think that describes OJ.

But back to Kaavya Viswanathan, I do think the story is very interesting, as is what people have to sat about it, here (blogcritics), here (blogcritics, and in contrast to the Frey debacle) and here (Miss Snark!)
