Astrology, Recession, Correction, Politics, Oil, Gold And The Dollar: Pluto In Capricorn… Saturn In Virgo
Astrology in real life
I was talking to the soldier the other day or rather he was talking to me about politics and he asked what I thought about something.”I don’t know. I don’t think about that stuff at all. I don’t listen to any of it, I don’t think it matters.”
Silence.
“Well I don’t. I don’t care what Obama said. I don’t care what Hilary thought or what some talking head is saying on the news tonight. I don’t track any of that; I don’t think it’s real. Do you think it’s real?”
No answer.
“Look, I’m sorry. I know you watch this stuff like a hawk but I do not. I watch things that are real. I watch the dollar for example. I watch the price of gold. I watch the price of oil for Godsakes! I see it’s going to break $100 a barrel and that’s supposed to be a big deal? Well now it’s at $112 and I know the effects of this first hand. I worked for Frito Lay for years. I know what happens when the price of gas goes up. I told you I saw 12 flour tortillas priced at $4.65 in the store last week. How are people supposed to pay $5 for a stack of flour and water? Tortillas are poverty food! People are going to get to the store and find they can’t afford to buy food. Now that is real and what some guy on CNN is saying to fill up air time is of no consequence whatsoever as far as I am concerned. How long can we stay in denial? Forever? Somehow I don’t think so.”
If you’re the type to pay attention, what do you track as indicators of where we are headed?

Write About Astrology and Politics? Yeah, Right - Not In This Lifetime
Astrology in Real Life…
I’ve been thinking about Libra being able to see both sides of a coin, aka indecisiveness, versus Aries singular mind. And I can see how important it is to be able to pick a side if for example, you would like to fight a war. Nice to know which side you’re on, yes?
So considering this it’s no wonder I feel certain if I found myself in the middle of a war, I would stand up and take the first bullet I could find to hit me (The Thin Red Line and Mars Square Mars in Synastry). Such would be my pain in that circumstance. Never mind that whoever was losing, I would want to go fight on that side. Balance, right? So who can stand this going back and forth? Not me! Someone kill me now!
And I am sorry for this! I am sorry for being wishy-washy but it’s just impossible for me not to consider the other person’s position so consequently I would be a truly horrible soldier, which should be understandable considering war is the providence of Aries, the sign opposite Libra.
And this extends into politics. Occasionally someone emails to prompt me to write about astrology and politics and I can’t do it. How am I supposed to pick a position, anyway? As soon as I argue one side, I am going to see the other and there is nothing in this world I can do to stop it.
So I marvel at the people who have a position they are able to hold and I run with them too. I have spent my whole life with the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio). I particularly partner with them, there is no other way. I just desperately need this kind of energy and I wind up with very opinionated people in my life and on both sides of any equation, while meantime I stand in the middle, wide-eyed and wondering how they do it. How can they be so damned sure?
And I envy them, by the way. Must be nice to know what you think!
Do you have Aries or Libra in your chart?

Pluto Transit to the Moon - Mine: The Shadow Side of Women Redux
Astrology In Real Life…
A few weeks ago when I was thinking about the shadow side of women and how they hunt each other (even on my blog), I discussed this with a friend who is very into politics. The election had just ended and he watches all the political shows.
He told me he felt the whole culture treated women poorly all the way around and he thought it was heinous. He said the talking heads on the political shows, Chris Matthews and the like, did nothing but mock the women… all the men on the panel did.
“It’s disgusting,” he said. “And the women on the panel are no better.”
“They don’t defend them?”
“No, they mock them too.”
“Yeah, well I imagine they are in this man’s world. They finally got a seat on one of those shows and if they act like a woman, they’re going to be next!”
So anyway, on that last blog I told you my friend was “sweet”. I told you she was sweet twice! And I told you she was under attack. And I told you that she finally decided to fight back. And she managed to be effective, thank God. And based on the comments, this is not okay with of a number of you. So just think about that.
A woman is getting attacked. Repeatedly! She finally manages to get up off her back and get her own knife out to defend herself, and as soon as she does people (other women) want to characterize her as some kind of misguided psycho witch who is wasting her time. Excuse me????
::shakes head::
How come no one championed her? Where are the “go, baby!” sentiments for a woman who fights back? If she stayed on her back to continue to be stabbed, would that be acceptable? I don’t think it would.
The same women who would attack a woman for fighting back would attack her for not fighting back. Sucks to be a girl, eh? But it’s fine to be a perpetrator and there is something horribly wrong with this. I guess she should defend herself with a feather or a dust mop or something. Would that be okay?

The Secret Lives Of Virgo: They All Have Them! Appealing or Otherwise
Just Blathering…
Speaking of the secret lives of Virgo, disgraced politician, Mark Foley is a Virgo.
So is Michael Jackson.
So is the very clean Hugh Grant… who was caught cheating on his model girlfriend with a whore, Divine Brown. Whoops!
How are these for examples of secret lives?
And don’t go jumping on this because there are other, classier examples. For example, Virgo, Sophia Loren. Years ago when a reporter yelled at her, “Hey Sophia! What are you doing with that old man?” (Carlo Ponti)
“None of your business!” she yelled back.
So there you go. Some Virgos are aware of their secret lives, others delude themselves.
For example, Leonard Cohen, another Virgo acknowledges his secret life in his song, “In My Secret Life“. He does it again in another song, “The Future“. But the Mark Foley types are far more common. I mean, he’s an extreme example but this is the point:
Virgo likes to see themselves as innocent maiden do-gooders. The men as well at the women, this is. So they just deny all the heinous things they do which are easily as numerous as the rest of peeps in the zodiac.
Virgo’s cheat on their taxes, on their husbands and wives. They act like punks just like everybody else in the zodiac and just as frequently.
But you best be careful pointing this out to them because by and large, they won’t like it. Virgo wants to be flawless, see. So they project the Pisces, the sign opposite, the sign that knows everything is askew, away from themselves. And this has an unfortunate affect, obviously.
The really smart Virgos embrace and even covet their secret life. And these are the Virgos who have tremendous appeal. Like Sophia Loren.
Isn’t she always pulled together? Look how she presents. Perfection! She’s a textbook Virgo (Virgin). Can you imagine her showing up for work with with her hair messed up from last night’s sex? Forget about it! She’s a Virgo!
But she doesn’t claim sainthood. Obviously she’s drawn to the old man and has been since she was 15. So what do you think they’re up to? Hmm. None of your business!
Compare to Foley who takes a public stance against what he does in private. Ack! That’s bad Virgo.
So what about you? Come on Virgos. Speak! Do you have a secret life or not too sure about that? And what about the Virgos the rest of you know. Do you notice they deny the things about them that are not “pristine”?
