Yesterday I called my son’s school about the situation with my daughter though we planned to go down there in person.  We changed our mind because I was able to get on the school’s website and see that pretty much the entire staff had turned over from 2 years ago.  The school is that small and based on this it seems smarter to call the secretary who I have known for 8 years and have her filter the information to the people who ought to have it.

I planned to do this call just right for everyone’s sake so I had myself centered before I even picked up the phone. Regarding the piece on Love and War, Humbling etc, comments left by Jessica and Deirdre make it clear to me that I was understood and I am very grateful. Yesterday I told this story to a pal and asked her if it translated because damned if I could tell. She said it did so it’s very heartening to see people get this. I am just in it so deep I’ve no perspective. And so many things compete for my energy and attention it’s not possible to try to remedy that. There are just too many pots on the stove!

Having recognized the bottle of wine on top the refrigerator in picture of the soldier in our apartment from 30 years ago, of course I had to go out and get us a bottle.

“Is there such a thing as Blue Nun anymore?” I asked the gal in neighborhood mega-liquor store standing in the German wine section.

“Sure is,” she said. “It’s right here.”

I glanced at the price tag and I was embarrassed. The bottle cost $4.99 so I laughed. I was embarrassed and I laughed but you know I bought the damned thing and brought it home.

From the comments on Dumped By Scorpio - Snake In The Grass, I was writing about how law could be manipulated and this dovetailed with the question I mentioned earlier… “Are there circumstances when one person breaking another person’s arm might be warranted?”

I wrote (in part):

“…Law is pretty freaky… it can absolutely be manipulated, unfortunately this is something else I know a lot about. It ties in with the question about breaking someone’s arm. If the law won’t (or can’t stop) a person - how about their arm getting broken? Would that motivate?

The soldier and I were leaving the gym today having heard a song which made us both realize something unnerving.

“Damn it,” I said. “I’d just like to go a day without a disturbance.”

“That’s never going to happen to us,” he said.

I looked over at him, surprised. “You mean you don’t think we can’t go a day?”

“You and I? No.”

He said it plainly so I knew he meant it. We got in the car.

Later, per my Pluto Moon transit (excavate your past) I realized it was just like this when I was a kid growing up. There was never, ever a day where something didn’t happen. There was not one day ever that was innocuous and I actually took some comfort from this.

Comparing your conditions now with the conditions when you were a child, have they changed?

I am not too happy about being so distracted and/or disturbed courtesy Pluto’s transit to my Moon, I have barely been able to acknowledge Venus’s presence in Leo… in other words, let’s talk about my shiny hair! Even when it try, it come out like this…

“Did you see this hair?” I shouted to the soldier as I passed by the bathroom mirror. “Oh my God, it’s the biggest hair ever. I don’t think it’s okay to have hair this big these days. Big Italian hair.”

“Don’t you cut it, P!”

I walked into the bedroom to face him. “Does this hair scare you?” I asked in usual challenge.

“P, you scare the hell out of me but it’s not your hair that does it. It other parts of you that are scary, your hair is fine.”

The soldier and I planned to watch a movie last night that was sure to stir his emotion as it depicts a real battle that he was part of. I watched the movie 5 years ago when we first started talking but we have postponed watching it together because it’s just so intense.

This was the agenda for the evening and in the afternoon the box of pictures landed which did not impact him the way they did me probably because he has sense but in any case eventually it was time to watch the movie.

“Come on, P, let’s watch this,” he said with the movie in his hand, obviously stirred. “I don’t know how much I am going to like seeing this,” he said.

“I know but listen. Are we going to put that movie in and deal with your feelings right now? Should we not do something to resolve mine first?”

“P, your feelings are complex. It would take 50 years and a team of motherfuckers… I mean it would take a team of educated bastards and they still wouldn’t get anywhere near resolving your feelings or figuring you out.”

I was quiet because it was impossible to argue. Shades of the Little Match Girl.

Are there things or feelings in your life you just can’t resolve?

Today the soldier got a surprise package in the mail. His mother has just moved and the box was full of pictures she had lying around.

As some of you know, I let boxes with this kind of energy cool a few day or even a few weeks before I open them but of course he’s not me so he ripped the thing open and next thing you know there is a picture of him in our old apartment from 29 years ago. It’s from a different angle than anything I have from the era and as I held it in my hand I was momentarily speechless.

I’ve got this Pluto Moon transit going and all kinds of things disturb me. For example, I mentioned last night the soldier and Vid and I rode our bikes / skateboard to the store but I did not mention we passed by the place where my daughter was hit by car on her bicycle last year.

My daughter actually hit the car not the other way around, as 4 witnesses stopped to testify to the 4 policemen on the scene. The whole thing was surreal… my daughter was shook but not injured and I was in fact liable for the damage to the gal’s car if you can get your head around that but anyway, I am also disturbed due my contrary opinion where I actually mean “opinions”.

Another thing happened on this trip, it was surprising and it was a first.  Someone asked about my daughter.

Now you all know I don’t write about my daughter. I used to write about her daily… multiple times a day actually but have written very little in the last five years because the story is just so impossible.  But I found myself standing in the kitchen (catch the Moon reference) with the soldier’s old pal from back in the day and my daughter came up.

I knew this man too, 30 years ago and I liked him very much. It took me all of 4 seconds like him very much again. He’s got energy that is quite astonishing… very Henry-esque. As a matter of fact he does motorcycle stunts too, and has an ocotillo fence at his house but anyway, I sure like the guy and his wife and his daughter and we were standing in the kitchen that last night when he asked, “So what about your kids, Elsa?” Continue reading Pluto Transit To The Moon - Mine: Family Trauma
