Like my son, some of my friends, my clients and the people who write me for advice are benefiting from my association with the soldier. I have taken to straight out asking for his opinion in certain circumstances.

I specifically consult with him when a man’s behavior is involved and the situation is not clear to me because invariably he can tell me what the man is up to in about 4 seconds and this is enormously helpful and valuable.

I mentioned maturity in regards to Pluto transits and I think it’s been underrated in recent times. There is an entire generation chasing youth which seems odd to someone like me who covets their age.

Jupiter through Capricorn definitely benefits anyone (of any age) who manages to conduct themselves with some degree of grace but I wonder if Pluto’s transit through Capricorn with have an even more profound affect. I think it’s likely that we as a collective (Pluto) are simply going to have to pay heed to people with substance (Capricorn) who have lived history for guidance.

And if you think about it, this is a long way from the Paris Hilton era or the Tom Cruise is God era which I do think has come to a close. All eyes on the people living large? Who has time for it?

There is a woman who just got “freed” from her dad in Austria. She was abducted on the first day Pluto made its second entry into Scorpio in 1984. So she was in the family cellar for all of Pluto in Scorpio, and all of Pluto in Sagittarius.

What do you think is this woman’s purpose, or what’s the message with her getting out just when Pluto goes into Capricorn.

I was talking to the soldier the other day or rather he was talking to me about politics and he asked what I thought about something.”I don’t know. I don’t think about that stuff at all. I don’t listen to any of it, I don’t think it matters.”

Silence.

“Well I don’t. I don’t care what Obama said. I don’t care what Hilary thought or what some talking head is saying on the news tonight. I don’t track any of that; I don’t think it’s real. Do you think it’s real?”

No answer.

“Look, I’m sorry. I know you watch this stuff like a hawk but I do not. I watch things that are real. I watch the dollar for example. I watch the price of gold. I watch the price of oil for Godsakes! I see it’s going to break $100 a barrel and that’s supposed to be a big deal? Well now it’s at $112 and I know the effects of this first hand. I worked for Frito Lay for years. I know what happens when the price of gas goes up. I told you I saw 12 flour tortillas priced at $4.65 in the store last week. How are people supposed to pay $5 for a stack of flour and water? Tortillas are poverty food! People are going to get to the store and find they can’t afford to buy food. Now that is real and what some guy on CNN is saying to fill up air time is of no consequence whatsoever as far as I am concerned. How long can we stay in denial? Forever? Somehow I don’t think so.”

If you’re the type to pay attention, what do you track as indicators of where we are headed?

As Pluto transits Capricorn another thing I think will come to the front (or to the surface) will be the shadow side of parenting which unfortunately I know a lot about. Nobody likes to talk about this stuff. No one wants to think about it but I am sure our days of having the luxury of keeping out heads in the sand are numbered.

The kids who shoot up schools… the 3^rd graders who plot to murder their teacher, something is very wrong here. And I am not blaming the parents. It is not necessarily a failure on the parent’s parts. In fact the parent’s hands are tied in so many ways it’s a miracle if your kid grows up to be a somewhat decent human being able to read and write and add and subtract.

One thing about living on the extreme end of a continuum, my experiences are very concentrated so it is very easy for me to see what is going on. It could be compared to a person who is acutely ill with cancer as compared to a person who just got the disease and won’t know it for 5 years. And I am going to write on this (probably for the next 10 years) but at the moment I am wondering what others think.

This topic, the Mississippi Fat Ban has me stunned and mesmerized so I just keep writing. Excellent example of Saturn (restriction) in Virgo (diet) and Pluto in Capricorn (Shadow side of the government).

Yesterday I went to the gym and I was thinking about all this fat ban business, the prospect of seeing our rights dissolve beneath us and the possibility of leaving the country for a better life. I thought of this and then I thought of that and then I thought of it.

Continuing on this theme, What Happens When Two Shadow Figures Join Forces, look at these two.

It’s pretty easy to look at these two and feel you have no problems at all, but do you really have no problems at all?

I bet you have all kinds of problems.

So how about looking away from these two and their problems and taking a look at the problems in your own life?

In other words, take responsibility (Capricorn) for your shadow (Pluto). Hmmm.

Pretty sure this is the path to real (Capricorn) healing (Pluto).

“Mirrors and the windows are all fogged over so I can’t see to back up,” the soldier said last night on the phone. “Have to have the window down to see and it’s cold. On the other hand I can smell the smell from the Burger King and it’s making my stomach growl.”

“Hope they let you in.”

“Oh yeah, the hog alarms are going to off soon as they see me. I’m going to say, I’m not a hog, I’m a rhinoceros!”

I laughed.
