Open Question: Why Do You Scorpios Read Here?

Ask the Scorpio?

I asked for someone math-brained to parse the Sun sign poll results which shows Scorpio the most represented among the signs.  Vickie responded:

“Math brained here however astrology challenged.

The mean (usual average) is 8.5 so yes, the scorpios are way above the average in readership or at least in the follow through to vote. Elsa you will have to interpret what that says about Scorpios for us”

Vickie- I’d say Scorpio comes here for the meat. I imagine I am also a pretty good specimin but how about we ask them directly?

Anyone want to de-lurk and clue us in? Thank you.

Open Question: Loyalty And Transparency In The Workplace And Professional Relationship: How Far Should It Go?

Ask the collective

loyaltyDear Elsa,

I’m all for honesty and transparency — maybe a bit too much. Another company wants me to interview for a job later this month.

My present employer has been very accommodating about some recent health problems. Above and beyond.

Loyalty is a big deal to me so I feel obligated to tell my present employer that I am thinking of leaving & that I am looking around.

Open Question: Why Does Gemini Lie So Much?

Ask the collective

gemini christmas dogsDiana asks:

Why do Gemini’s feel the need to lie so much and so often and for no reason?

Diana, I don’t think feeling has anything to do with it. It;s to keep things interesting, stave off boredom.

Open Question: Astrology, Fantasy And Obsession

Ask the collective

fantasy chartDear Elsa,

Since we seem to all have love on our minds these days, what is astrology’s take on obsession?

I am not talking about bad pathological obsession but the ones that are beyond mere crushes. They hit you out of nowhere to churn around in your insides until you do something uncharacteristic (and usually embarassing) or it dies an inevitable death.

I am obsessed with someone that I think I would ‘normally’ not be attracted to. It is an almost otherworldly thing because I am not even sure it’s sexual.

The weirdest thing is I’m not sure I want to do anything about it but instead wait for it to play out because I know there is no way the reality can be as good as the fantasy.

Open Question: “Behind Every Success is a Pack of Haters” Can You Fill In The Astrology?

Ask the collective

jupiter“Behind Every Success is a Pack of Haters” .

Someone mentioned this quote to me today which believe it not, I’d never heard before so I had to consider it. Does success breed hate? I guess it does. How many people hate Bill Gates? How many people (still) love Oprah? But this is baffling (to me) on an astrological level.

Jupiter rules success so where is the tie between Jupiter and hate, hmm?

Please tell me if you know and outside of that do you agree with the quote? What have you seen or experienced?

Open Question: First Date While Mercury Is Retrograde - Is The Relationship Doomed?

Ask the collective

mercury god symbolHi, Elsa!

I’ve been doing internet dating for the last couple of months and finding that I am really enjoying it and meeting some nice guys. At any rate, I don’t usually initiate contact with guys online; I wait for the guys to contact me. But I really liked one guy and so dropped him a line, which got the ball rolling.

I’m really glad I did initiate with him, because he’s not all aggressive and player-y and he seems to be someone I might actually like to be in a relationship with but here’s the rub: We are meeting for the first time in person this Thursday - right after mercury retrograde has started. I haven’t discussed astrology with him and don’t feel comfortable putting off the meeting for another three weeks on that basis.

Any advice about how to handle this? I’m not quick to the sex part, so that isn’t an issue, but what about a first kiss during mercury retrograde? Is this doomed by bad timing?

Dating, although like you I would note Mercury retrograde, I would never ever postpone a date on account of it. For one thing, dating is not a Mercury-ruled thing.  Plans may go awry, someone may be late but something like that will never stop love.

I say, swear off gloom and doom astrology and go have the time of your life!

Open Question: Manifesting The Potential Of Your Astrology Chart

Ask the collective

princess.jpgsatori writes:

I was rereading Diane Eichenbaum’s Soul Signs and came across a poem she cited, written by a Californian, grade-school girl
[partial]:

I am the moon.
I am the sky.
I am someone no one else has been.
I am the person that gets everything they want.
I am the one and only princess in the world.
I am an astronaut that always goes to Pluto,
I am a flower that never dies.

it reminded me of your current bit on manifestation.

I think I’m going to manifest being the one and only princess in the world (but I still plan to do it with a cheeseburger in a van down by the river ::smirk::).

What would you like to make of yourself?

Open Question: Astrology-Based Advice For Scorpio Man In New Relationship With Libra Man

Ask the collective

manDear Elsa,

I’m a gay man who recently met a Libra man who is two years older than me (They are 55 and 57). We communicate well, joke around and have very similar dietary and exercise habits. He is much more calm than I am which balances things out. My question
is that he seems aloof at times and very into his job and caring for his dog and is a homebody.

Any advice on how a Scorpio should understand a Libra man besides just chilling and letting things take their course?? Thanks!!

Scorpio Man
United States

Dear Scorpio, letting things take there course is always the best plan. General tips for Libra - well they love to partner. Once partnered they can relax and it sounds like this is what this man is doing.

You also specifically state he is balancing things out which is the job of Libra. This means if you act one extreme they will typically act the other but if you do too much of this (Scorpio manipulating), you risk pissing off the Libra which is always disastrous. Because while Libra does try very hard to be pleasant, if you get one to blow, you can expect a bloodbath.

Good luck

Open Question For Astrologers: Do Transits From The Planet That Rules The Chart Warrant Special Consideration?

Ask the collective

question markA couple decades ago my sister came up with this idea that transits of the planet the rules the chart are always beneficial.  This was innovative at the time because both my sister and I are Capricorn rising and the widely held wisdom at the time was that you were uniformly up a creek when Saturn came ’round.

Her basis was that the individual is naturally attuned to the energy of the chart ruler so had little problem aligning and while this makes logical sense I have never been able to draw a firm conclusion even though I always, always benefit by transits of Saturn as does my sister but here’s the question:

Is it because she is right about this, or is it because both of us have Saturn strongly placed and well aspected?  In other words, if Saturn were trashed in our charts would we still fare well? Libra has never been able to decide.

Is the chart ruler friendly to the chart… Period?

Open Question: Is It Easy For You To Say, “I Love You”?

Ask the collective

venusLast night I asked the soldier if he’d ever known of someone who could not say, “I love you.” I explained that occasionally I got a question from someone with this problem and I had known a good number of people who struggled with this and eventually suffered.

“You know. They’re with someone for years even and the guy or the gal won’t say, I love you. They just can’t bring themselves too,” I said.

He said he never heard of anything like it in his life… but then consider his life. Because I do think this is common, er… isn’t it?

When it comes to saying, “I love you”, what is your style? Are you forthcoming about your feelings or more cautious? How does this compare to Venus in your chart?
