Astrology And Defense Systems: Nick Lowe’s “Stick It Where The Sun Don’t Shine!”
Catch up here: 1 Minute Astrology - Defense for Pisces by Elsa P
Earlier we had the John Prine’s musical defense against a bitching spouse and here is a Nick Lowe version: “Stick It Where The Sun Don’t Shine.”
It is impossible to sing this song and not feel greeeeat! Mars Mercury loves this one because the gal here has a big mouth. She specifically has “a tongue like a knife” that makes “rotten racket”. It’s a bunch of “prittle pattle” that sound like a “death rattle” and best of all is the freedom -

Lovesick Men - There Are A Lot Of Them!
Astrology in real life
The soldier and I watched La Bamba this weekend, a movie I have never seen for some reason. It was striking because the guy who plays Ritchie Valens brother in the movie looks astonishingly similar to the soldier’s old friend, Speedy and acts like his to some extent as well. Then there is the love story of course.
The soldier wound up singing “Oh, Donna” to me all weekend, substituting my name for hers which was both embarrassing and amusing and we talked a lot about men in love… some of these conversations are coming up.
It’s very heartening to hear from a man’s man about men loving women. Turns out they really do love us a lot of time, too bad we don’t register this as well as we might. Because if I had any doubt about what he was saying when I went looking for the song on youtube, I found one man after another after another after another of all sizes, shapes and colors singing this torchy song so apparently they can relate.
Are you aware of men loving women or does it seem otherwise to you?

Control Freaks… “Man You’re Some Kind Of Sinner!”
Astrology in real life
Valkyrie wrote on the Giving blog:
I’ve been learning to dislodge the notion it’s better to give than receive. I think it’s equally important to give and receive, and those who can’t receive well probably can’t take in new energy either.
(snip)
This has become a lot clearer to me since reading about pluto/scorpio interchanges of energy on this blog over the last 6 months or so. The image I have is this feedback loop-A sends energy -> B, who processes it and -> A -> B -> A etc. in a some kind of circular interchange.
I responded:
Valkyrie - Yeah, like sex. Not much fun to have sex with someone who cannot receive…

Dame Shirley Bassey - A Shining Example Of The Sun In Capricorn
Astrology in real life
Reader Daemoness tipped me off to this video by Capricorn, Dame (you can say that again) Shirley Bassey. Ms Bassey has Jupiter in Capricorn, said to age well and here is proof as it is impossible to tell this gal 71 years old (and admits it) so even more class!
She’s got her Moon and Mars in Scorpio, Venus is exalted in Pisces and what can I say besides I wouldn’t mind being her when I grow up. That and I bet she’s paid some dues.
Here is an astro-profile from Astrotheme…
And here is Dame Shirley herself:

“Why Do You Want To Marry An Assassin?” Redux - The Boy Is No Good
Astrology in real life
Most of you know the soldier has collected songs for thirty years that remind of me in some way and he’s got all the bases covered. He’s got racing motor songs, left at the altar songs, two criminals on the run songs, Italian songs, regretful man songs, jealousy songs, happy songs, a song for my time with the AMF… you name it.
So some months ago when I was telling him about all the people (there were a 100 of them at least) telling me he was an assassin, and also that his family would kill me if I ever left him etc. - Well he was bound to find a song to commemorate it and this is it.

Astrology Today: Double Scorpio, Doug Of Doug And The Slugs
My eye on the sky
The Moon in Aries squares Jupiter debilitated in Capricorn but this is a large improvement over yesterday’s needle in your groin.
It was double Scorpio and Canadian, Doug of Doug And The Slugs who wrote about “the needle in your groin.” I hate to report that Doug is dead but you can see him in his heyday here, singing one of my favorite songs of all time for the sheer amusement of it.
My point it to cheer you people up so listen to Doug mock someone (and himself). Besides the Sun and Moon, Mercury is also in Scorpio, Venus and Mars in Virgo and he is clever and cunning.
He is also super clean and has white shoes… and check out the Scorpio body, what’d I tell ya?

You Have To Indulge Me… There Is No Choice, It’s My Blog
Astrology in real life
All this Pisces… all this emotion. The soldier has a new song.
“How are you?”
“Oh, I’m lovesick as usual,” he said sounding disgusted with himself. The Moon in Pisces is conjunct his ascendant. “I’ve been listening to some station playing songs from the 60’s and 70’s and they’re making me feel lovesick.”
“Like what?”
“Kentucky Rain,” he said obviously embarrassed.
“Kentucky rain keeps pouring down?” I sang.
“Yep, that’s the one.”
I almost feel sorry for him (more Pisces). What’s an old soldier to do?

Astrology Today - THIS WAY OUT —->
My eye on the sky
Ya’ll seemed to like John Prine yesterday so I will let him handle today’s problem as well. The thing is, Mars is nearly exactly opposite Pluto and people are pissed.
At the same time, there is a stellium in Aquarius with Neptune involved which suggests there is an out if you’re interested. There is a window.
Using your intellect is favored with all the Aquarius energy - Neptune suggests transcendence. Even Pluto insists you LET GO and if you consider what John Prine has to say about being pissed off, (Bruised Orange - Chain Of Sorrow) it seems a no-brainer.
“…You can gaze out the window get mad and get madder,
throw your hands in the air, say “What does it matter?”
but it don’t do no good to get angry,
so help me I know
For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter.
You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there
wrapped up in a trap of your very own
chain of sorrow…”
Here him sing it here (audio clip) 5. Bruised Orange (Chain Of Sorrow)

The Way Of The Culture - You’re Down? Great, Let’s Kick You!
Astrology in real life
“Cold, cold, cold
Cold, cold, cold
Freezing, it was freezing in that hotel
I had no money, my special friend was gone
The TV set was busted so she went along
I called room, room service,
I’m down here on my knees
A peach or a pear, or a coconut please,
But they was cold…”
Lowell George (Aries… hot, hot, hot)
