Astrology And Movies… Venus Neptune

Astrology in real life

rocky-and-adrian.jpgBesides all the Capricorn, Venus is currently conjunct Neptune and we can’t forget about that. Boundaries in relationship are very poor at the moment, there is a (collective) tendency to pine or perhaps feel a victim.

So there’s that but the same energy concerned love (Venus) movies (Neptune)…

“I don’t like watching love movies,” the soldier said with Rocky playing in the background. “I never have.”

“Why not?”

Movie Love AKA Venus Neptune: Billy Jack

Astrology in real life

billy_jack_2.jpgBilly Jack is an interesting movie. Here’s a little known bit about it: Quentin Tarantino was introducing the movie at a festival…

dumdistraction writes:

“Tarantino got on-stage and began to chuckle at the concept of pacifist hippie movies where everything is solved by violence. He really digs this movie, though, going as far as to call it one of the “best modern day westerns.” QT is quarter-Cherokee, and he says that the scene in this movie were Billy Jack describes the Indian religion was the first time he (QT) really got a sense of what their belief system was all about. He says its easy to dismiss their belief in the god of water, god of dirt, god of fire, etc, as being juvenile (as least how its portrayed in the media), but that when you hear Billy Jack talk about it, it sounds really profound.

Never Mind What You *Want - What You Get Is Adventure

Astrology in real life

likewaterforchocolate.jpgIf you saw Like Water for Chocolate
then maybe you’ll recognize this line, “Don’t cry in the sauce!” I have been equated to the gal in that movie, “Tita” many times and at one point she’s all distraught over her love and starts crying the sauce as she’s cooking it, something I have been busted doing myself. So today I started crying in the salsa, eating an early dinner with the soldier before he took off.

“You have this destiny and now mine is tied to yours,” I said. “I told you that and you said so? Is it that baaaad?” I smirked. “It’s not bad. I am glad to be with you.”

My 8th House Remarks The Blond Pony Tail Women And On Collective Psychology

Astrology in real life

world-at-war.jpgRegarding the blond ponytail lady, I hope this isn’t misinterpreted but!

But the soldier and I have been watching The World at War over the last weeks.

As most of you know he’s a war history buff and he considers this the best war documentary ever made. It was made in the seventies and could not be made now as many of the people interviewed (Holocaust survivors for example) are dead.

It was also made before “spin” and “political correctness” became so prevalent. Back when documentaries were made to inform and actually document history rather than something fashioned to entertain or advance a political agenda and while it is long (11 dvds) it is inordinately interesting.

The Worst Spy In Us History, Robert Hanssen and the Movie, Breach

Astrology in real life

robert_hanssen.jpgI have a piece coming on a war documentary the soldier and I are watching and this post is related. The documentary we are watching sticks to actual facts and allows the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Compare that to the freakish piece of film making that is ‘Breach which left the soldier and I both absolutely bewildered.

Breach is a “based on a true story” movie of Robert Hanssen, the FBI man tagged “the worst spy in US history”. He is now in prison for life and spends 23 hours a day in solitary confinement for reasons I have not been able to discover though I’d like to.

Neptune On The Midheaven: Vulnerability Or Lack Of…

Commenting on the comments

dora-dog.jpgRainie writes on Randomness of War:

“Elsa, I found you a few years ago from Xanga. I’ve been hooked since then and along the way, came to care about what’s going on with you…”

and

“I think it has to do with being a strong personality; people don’t realize you have vulnerabilities so they blast away.”

Advice From Pisces: satori On “The Moon in Virgo is besieged, caught between Saturn and Mars.”

Advice From Pisces

shoesless-joe.jpgsatori (a Pisces) writes:

When life throws you Virgo– and you’re feeling averse to actual work– read advice lists.

I’ve just discovered a new guilty pleasure:  the lists at men’s health dot com.  Oh, the laugh out loud, squirmy goodness of it all, and not ecause they’re wrong either.  There was one particular passage prefacing a list of what not to say to women that may live on my desktop forever:  “Women freak out. Often at you. Often for no discernible reason.”

There are bits where men give advice and ones where women give advice. As far as can tell they can all be replaced by advice from the movie Field of Dreams:

Open Question: Astrology And Literature - Are Characters Beloved Because They Correspond To Universal Archetypes?

Ask the collective

snape.jpgA reader writes:
“Are our most beloved literary characters beloved because they correspond to the universal purpose of astrology? Last summer, in the midst of Harry Potter mania, I saw a list someone had compiled of the various birthdays of the characters. They all seemed to match very well. For example, I couldn’t imagine Snape as anything but a Capricorn. And would Harry be “the boy who lived” if he wasn’t a Leo?

My latest book is Anne of Green Gables. While listening the other day, and hearing the imaginative, dreamy ramblings of the main character Anne, I told myself that I would be shocked, shocked if she were anything but a Pisces. Within 5 minutes, the Anne character said that she had just turned 11 in March. More likely than not that the character is Pisces.

I think that the characters we love most resonate with the unconscious knowledge that we all have about what traits are believable. What do you think?

CF Perez Cracks Me Up - Alan Berg And Madalyn Murray OHair… Murdered Free Speakers

Astrology in real life

I was on the phone with Claire-France Perez today, telling her about Madalyn Murray O’Hair and how I thought I was the kind of person who gets murdered. I have an affinity to Alan Berg as well.

Berg was an outspoken radio personality in Denver who was assassinated, shot 13 times in the driveway of his home by a white supremacist. Most of the shots were to the face and they made a movie about him called, Talk Radio.

“Yeah, I could see it happening pretty easily actually,” I said.

I told her what the soldier had to say on the subject and outlined some of the astrology.

“Yeah, if we are going to lose our right to free speech, I am going to be in big trouble because I am a free speaker.  What are free speakers to do when you’ve no longer got this right or if the punishment for speaking your mind becomes very acute? I don’t think it is possible for a person like me shut up.  Look at that Mars Mercury. How do you shut something like that up?” Continue reading CF Perez Cracks Me Up - Alan Berg And Madalyn Murray OHair… Murdered Free Speakers
