She Does Her Job In The Military But She Is Not Trusted And The Butt Of Jokes: Astrology-Based Advice
Dear Elsa,
I am in the Army and currently deployed with my unit. In the military, perception is everything and taken as the truth. This is frustrating to me because people have this perception that I am always getting into trouble. My boss constantly jokingly tells me to stay out of trouble, but I believe there is always some truth to jokes.
I’m very quiet and I just stick to myself and do my work. Whenever I do go off to complete a task outside of where I work, my boss keeps constant watch on me by constantly calling me throughout my trip. I haven’t done anything to warrant this behavior. However, there are peers of mine who get away with murder and no one ever checks up on them.
Is there something in my chart which make me appear like I’m a trouble maker?
Respectfully,

Dear Aries,I looked at your chart and saw nothing that would signify a “troublemaker” in my mind. Your chart shows someone who is independent, freedom loving and somewhat eccentric. There is also indication that you would have some trouble perceiving how you are perceived. While this was all interesting it did not solve your problem, so I decides to consult my beau, an ex-Special Forces soldier of 16 years among other things.
I read him your mail.
“… appear like I am a trouble maker?” I said. “So that’s what she says and no, there is nothing in her chart. She says she is doing her job and her chart shows an eccentric person.”
“The Army is no place for an individual,” he said. “It functions as a team. There is no place for individuality in the Army and anyone acting as an individual is highly suspect. You’ve got to watch them all the time. If you’re in the Army and you want to have some individuality, you can have it for about a minute if you’re lucky, when you’re out and away and then it’s right back into the group.”
“So she hangs out by herself…”
“Yeah, that’s no good. The Army hates that. The Army is 2. There is you and your buddy in the foxhole. You watch his ass and he watches yours. The military must operate as a unit or you’re get your ass kicked, so yeah. Hanging around by yourself is not going fly in the military and anyone who tries to do that… anyone who tries to act individually is going to be highly suspect and considered a pain in the ass..”
I expect he knows what he is talking about so based on this, you have two options that are in sync with your chart. You can either get out of the military or you can experiment with changing your behavior and both of these would suit you.
The quitting is obvious but in the other direction, anyone with a strong Uranus (like you) loves a revolution. They also like to surprise others so if you made this change you’d shock people and you’d like that.
On another level - with Mars in Scorpio, finding out you can manipulate people via your actions of penetrating the group would also have an appeal. And manipulation is what I would call it if you decided to actually join their “army” in order to observe the group psychology.
Then there is the 3rd choice (and my personal favorite) - do one and then do the other.
Good luck.

Astro-Twins: The Soldier and The Salesman - Mars and Saturn in Aspect Redux
Back on the Mars Saturn aspect, when I was 17, I momentarily had nowhere to live, so I moved into the soldier’s barracks. And I had forgotten this entirely until he reminded me when we got in contact a few years ago. How you can forget something like this, I have no idea. I’m a Saturn Neptune type. But once reminded I remembered it vividly. Well some of it.
Last night I was talking to him and more details surfaced which brilliantly illustrate the Mars Saturn aspect.
“I used to guard you in there,” he said.
“What?”
“I would guard you. I would stand guard (Saturn) wherever you went so no men (Mars) would bother you.”
“You did? You guarded me?”
“Yes! Like when you took a shower, I would stand outside and guard you so no one would come in there.”
“What? I took a shower there?” As soon as I said it, I knew it was stupid. Of course I took a shower there. How else am I going to get clean?”
“Yes you took a shower and I would stand outside and let no one in. I want a take a shower, one of the guys would say. No, I’d tell them. You can’t! (Saturn restriction of soldiers / Mars). You’re just going to have to wait (delay) because she’s in there and you’re not going in and if you try, then I guess I’ll have to kill you.
I laughed.
“No one ever tried, so no one ever died. I’m surprised you don’t remember this, P.”
“I do now. I remember that… you doing that now. I was scared (Saturn) of all those men (Mars). They made me very nervous.”
“With good reason. Those men were heathens, P. Most of them. Hell, maybe even all of them. There are all kinds of heathens in the military. Men are dogs and there was no way I was going to let them get anywhere near you. Who knows what they’d do it they if they had a chance, so they weren’t going to have a chance.”
“I see. Well I’m glad you did that. Thanks for guarding me so I could take a shower.”
“You’re welcome. Nothing was going to happen to you on my watch. Nothing at all, I can promise you that. I made sure you were completely safe at all times.”
So there you go. He’s controlling (Saturn) the situation with his prowess (Mars). Threat of violence (Mars) against men not respecting a boundary (Saturn) because he feels it’s the right thing to do (Integrity / Saturn)
Can you relate? Do you have a Mars Saturn aspect in your chart?

Mars! The Warrior Planet in Astrology and Life
Just Blathering…
Mars is conjunct Mercury in Libra right now, conjunct my natal Mars Mercury and there have been a zillion manifestations of this. This energy has just permeated everything over these couple weeks and today’s and tomorrow’s blog are both about acting your Mars and pretty hard core.
Now there is at least one astrologer reading who tracks my blog around what gets posted when. He has noted that when the Moon is in certain signs my writing is one way or another. And I am sure he’s correct! So that these Mars posts (and the Mercury in Aries/Libra series) would post at this time should be no surprise.
I have also noticed I am using a lot of exclamation points lately. Like about 40% more than I should! I am just slightly emphatic lately, you know? ::laughs::
Anyway, SF asked about the Special Forces soldier’s Mars and it just happens to be square his Mercury so he’s obviously a hothead like me. We have much in common like this. We have copious amounts of energy to manage and are both pretty good at it.
He obviously channeled his Mars into soldiering. He is a consummate soldier, a total Mars figure. So he spent 16 years in Special Forces and every single one of them out in the field.
I cannot get him to tell me how common this is. To stay in so long and survive it. Because the other Special Forces soldiers I know did two years and out. Three years and out! That was enough. But he stayed in and further, volunteered to go on every assignment he could… in short, this boy was born to fight.
And he is sadly retired now. Seriously I think he would be very happy if war would come to his town so just imagine living with a Mars like his. What is he going to do with all this energy?
Well he’s a machinist. He works with HOT METAL all day. Isn’t that funny? Guns, knives and cutting into red hot metal spinning a zillion times a minute!
And when he gets off work, he goes walking. For 20 miles, this is. 20 miles once a week, 10 miles another day, bike riding, weight lifting, etc. etc. This because he is old! He’d rather run, see? But he’s full of shrapnel, obviously. And bullet holes! His knee is bad. Saturn!!! But he can’t stop. Can you see how he can never stop?
Anyway, the point of this is everyone has an engine but some of us have engines that race. And we have to use them or else. And with Mars and Mercury in the sky like this, I have never been more aware of my own male energy.
For example, I am acutely aware these days, I want to penetrate. I want to assert myself. And I am looking back over my life and seeing I have always been this way.
What other woman would move into a male barracks? I loved that shit! That was like conquering something to me. Hey, ma! Look where I’m at, LOL! Prowess! I’m like a freakin’ rooster or something. Struttin’ around. Look where I am, that I am not supposed to be! I have penetrated!!!
So I think this is important to write about. For women that is, who tend to project their Mars onto men. You know. “He’s big and strong…” Well actually, I am big and strong! I am formidable and all that.
So what about you? Do you flex your muscle? Where is your Mars and do you work it? Or no?
